So what can i say about this ska track, hmm, being in a ska band once, i can say this is awesome work mate, the melody, your horn/sax work and mastering are just sky rockets to the moon, with jelly and icecream for all :)

As always ska is close to my heart and thus, you've made me a happy bloke today :P

I love these lyrics, first and foremost. I can actually really relate to them... I'm on that road right now.

You have a radio-ready sound on all your tracks.. it makes me realize how much I need to learn about mixing lol. Again, I love your voice. I remember when I first joined I think you only had one track that had you singing on it at the time. Glad to hear you using it more :)

This was a really beautiful song, especially for being sparked by a comment about a picture ;)

Haha... I can't help but laugh when I see the word vibraslap... cause someone on facebook started a vibraslap group for fans of the instrument, with forums discussing what songs use it.

This was gorgeous, I love that flute solo. Well more than the flute solo actually, but you know what I mean! lol

You seriously blow me away, I wish I could borrow just a lil of your musical talent just to learn guitar properly ;) This is just solid musicianship all the way around... and you know, your higher range kind of reminds me of Sting.

It's a good thing we don't have a limit of what we can favorite here.... cause I'd have it full really soon I think. Dude... seriously this stuff is KILLER. You're an amazing musician, and these tracks are just such a great example of it. It takes a lot of thought for someone like me to put together a track with just a simple beat... but these are so complex with the bass and the horns and the fast paced vocals... I am just in awe.

Hey, it's always good to just let what comes out, come out. I try not to think of genres when I write, I find it just ends up pulling me in 5 directions when I need only 1. This was lovely... you're developing a great sound with this project and something I've noticed now that I've hit a few of the tracks... you've got a lot of variation both vocally and musically. When I buy a cd from an artist and realize all the tracks sound almost the same I am always gutted. I reckon nobody will find that happening with you :)

Dude... to say I dig your new direction is a serious understatement! You have me wanting to start bugging you for some collab work now haha... I'd love to do something in this sort of vein sometime. Music like this has so much energy that you can't help but love it.

24 tracks? Not sure I could do that (even with synths cause I can't play anything to save my life lol) without my A.D.D. taking the wheel.

Oh I know all about the economy.

I spent 3 years taking care of my ex boyfriend's disabled son for room and board, then finally got the opportunity to start fresh in a new apartment.. and can't find a job - not even the jobs nobody wants.

This was a well written track, both musically and lyrically. I love your voice I gotta say.. I see you've said you don't class yourself as a singer? Silly boy ;) Putting together something this complex is a sign of a real musician, much respect for that. Loved this!

Man, I gotta tell you... this new project is no less than kick@$$. It's cool that your roots are in ska, to me the best genres are fusion ones because I hate genres haha.

This was a really cool track, it had to be a lot of fun to put together, from those horns to the wicked vocal... and that funky bassline. Loved this! (if you couldn't tell :P)

Dude, I've just realized something... I've not heard enough tracks with YOUR voice on them. I am going to have to go through your page and catch up, it's been too long ;)

This was an awesome track man, I love horns (although I'm sort of clueless how to put them effectively into music) and I love that ska beat. I was grooving as soon as it kicked in :D

Your story kind of reminds me of when I went to see Martin Sexton in Toronto. He's not well known here in Canada, he only started playing Canadian dates in the last few years so he plays a small place in Toronto called The Mod Club. It's a great bar, but a really small place. It wasn't full though, and in my opinion someone as talented as him should PACK a small bar. If you're not familiar with Martin, you should look him up on Youtube, particular his live cover of Woodstock/A Day in the Life because that video really does him justice in my eyes.

You put up so many tunes up, hard to keep up. Even now I am at work as I had to work both my days off, so I am lucky to get a song done a month.

Here it sounds like you did very well in getting things together in the 10 minute time limit.

I met Madness once when they were gigging in Wales.They were staying in the hotel where we were gigging.When they came back from their gig they stayed up and watched us playing.The guitarist was well impressed as i remember at the time.
I told them my kids were big fans so they said bring them over in the morning and they had pics autographs etc. they were real good guys.
This is a great tribute to those old ska sounds from way back.
Deffo Two Tone sounds makes me feel like rolling a fat one.....lol....
Sax sounds just right, lots of layers of vocals drums sound fine except the toms they sound a bit slack, if thats the right word.Thats my only and very minor criticism.
Otherwise a fine danceable track and very pro sounding, radio fodder if ever I heard it...................Dylan Thermos.

You standout from so many, as a musician in your own right. Get yourself out there! You could be famous!

Yeah that sounds more punchy and clear!...It's an interesting thing different mixes..I think sometimes they reflect the current trends and sometimes the players own musical bias..Being a bass player means I like more bass! lol..but seriously drums and bass are much more forward in the mix these days compared to where they used to be 30-40 years ago...I think the horns have been balanced brilliantly in this version..their just right..mind you my bias is to pump up the Baritone..ever since I heard Gerry Mulligan blow one of those suckers I've been a convert...I think your getting the right balance on these bigger productions now..much in the same vein that Rob Wilhelm achieves within his work..all frequencies can be heard clearly without any saturation or competition...obviously every track needs special attention ..but I think it's like anything you practice often enough you become good at it..and you man are in the groove....hehe as a side note you'll be happy to hear that I am now nursing some blisters on my fingers (no..not from ripping the cap off it) been getting that chillout track together and over looked that I haven't been playing enough (the bass players curse)...anyway cool mix!..cheers planet ;)

If anything this is the slickest GSN track yet..some great counter rhythms going down..I really like what the bass line is doing and the brilliant sliding horn section..I think I might of touched on this before..but it's very apparent in all your music..it's not so much of what you do and don't do...it's much more about the insertion of Steve Bone's Karma into the track to the extent it becomes a living breathing thing..whether it's a single horn instrumental or a full blown production such as this one...they all resonate with integrity and soul...If we could turn these tracks over we'd find a Hallmark worthy of the best Sterling.

The vocals on this are slightly Sting-like (I'm thinkin his early 90s sound). Though musically this is reminding me more of a mix between UB40 and Huey Lewis & the News.

Now for something random...
I know they might be more electo-centric, but I'm thinkin that you might enjoy some of the music by Dub Pistols. They've got a couple of tracks on their album Point Blank that are sorta similar.

Anyways, I think this is one of those times that ya rated yourself too harshly (as we artists tend to do alot with our own works). It might've been a rush job, but it certainly doesn't sound like one mate. And I think that's where it counts.

Oh, and something else that's random...
For albums I base my stuff on the calendar (aimin for 1 track a month, if I come close to 12 I'm happy). Time also factors in too, slightly. I always try to shoot for around an hour. As long as it hits close it's good. Just some food for thought.
