Description : The current economic climate has been the inspiration behind this song. The Ska bands that inspired me in the 80's always spoke their minds on the issues of the day. If you haven't heard Ghost town by the Specials, then you are missing out on a classic track. The last down turn we had in the UK made them write a masterpiece.
This my attempt at a political song, I hope it floats your boat. All instruments and vocals Slap. Drums and percussion by Sonic Foundry. All comments welcome, I am trying to make these new songs really special...

Cheers Slap...

you murdered the genre. daaaamn!

ive been touching on the problems of today lately aswell. i find that if there isnt music to uplift the people and speak on subjects they can relate to then who's going to speak for them?

i love the way you did it too, like James Brown shit man. lol
you spoke on something important but on a uptempo beat. people can dance and be rebelious with this song. lol

Love this song Slap, beautiful piece.

Oh I know all about the economy.

I spent 3 years taking care of my ex boyfriend's disabled son for room and board, then finally got the opportunity to start fresh in a new apartment.. and can't find a job - not even the jobs nobody wants.

This was a well written track, both musically and lyrically. I love your voice I gotta say.. I see you've said you don't class yourself as a singer? Silly boy ;) Putting together something this complex is a sign of a real musician, much respect for that. Loved this!

You standout from so many, as a musician in your own right. Get yourself out there! You could be famous!

Man...how cool is this! I hope when you perform this gear your wearing one of those cool pork pie hats....and a tight black suit!...super rhythm construction,no one can do it like you...plus when you take a solo the whole track shimmies and shakes...Hell man I've seen a lot of bands in this country try and add a Horn section and get that "Cookin' sound"..none of them comes up to the top of your socks...Bloody marvellous work..and then you add in your superb post production skills...this all adds up to Sonic Mastery...cheers Dave :)

this is a download, great production as usual, use to Play Ghost Town all the time as a DJ early 80's and Do the Dog, and Gansters and Message to Rudy even Free Nelson Mandella (it worked, lol), love and respect that band and you carry on the spirit keeping it alive today, more personal note I have a Track called Rock-et-Fuel (rockabyllie burner) that begs for your sax, its a short track in the spirit of the time but ita has room upfront for you if you like it and it talks to you and your sax and you want to talk back.

Hey Slap Man, smokin' ska track and great social commentary. It's funny you should mention The Specials "Ghost Town" track. I remember stateting to you the last time I e-mailed you that, that was one of my all time favorite classic ska tracks. Working on a track now that I would love to have you blow your horn on.
As always, great music Slap; Peace. D

Great vocals Slap, a lot of feeling behind the lyrics too, very upbeat and funky. Drums are great, and as always the horns are fannnnnntastic.
Great job Slap.

Peace,

Hi Helix, I'm glad you like the vocals (I don't class myself as a singer). This credit crunch thing needs to go away. It hasn't effected me as such, but the people it has I really feel for. I hope things are cool for you down in Wales...

Cheers Slap...

Description : Sincere apologies for this nonsense. Started out as a home school project with the kids but they refused to sing or write lyrics so had to use bastardised nursery rhymes.
