EHH MOD!! and favourite for sure!
I's that the word skunk, as in ganja, if not oh well. Funny track had me laughing.... which in my book is a winner. I have the Specials on vinyl. What a word vinyl. SKA I got 2 know through the police, but some of the other bands you mentioned I have to check out.
Dude I love your sax.....I have been just to busy to check out the full body of work I am going to do that here today. Your a CHAMPION of music and the first person that caught my ear on this site . Total respect for this project you have going on here. The vibe makes me wanna go to the beach...puff puff and have a couple of mixed drinks, perfect for where I live hear in Florida. Peace
Ahh..I can see that Bill and I will have to get a pork pie hat each! lol....Great singing!..it's really interesting to get in early on the production process and then see what develops...this piece has a lot of influences in it..Bill's guitar lends a very interesting almost psychedelic vibe so this technically could be Skadelic music!..hehe..I think we're going to have to clone you if we ever want to play live..the drums are great on this track, sometimes one of the trickiest things to get right.......sounds great..mixing 24 tracks is a huge task!.....great stuff man cheers Dave :)
Real nice thing here guys! Very busy piece I must admit, this made me feel as if I was right there amongst a crowd of people, and everyone was swaying their arms in unison with the music!, Dreadlocks, brightly colored hand made woolen ponchos, and the air filled with the smoke of their religion! and not one single negative vibe in the whole place! Life IS! for the Living!

Hi Moondog, firstly i'm glad you liked the track, secondly I'm glad you liked my first mix. There's alot going on in this song and I want all of the parts to sit right. Thanks for taking the time to listen...
Love this and want 2 work with you on this crazy 50's track (SUPERCLUTZ, OR CLUMZY OR, SWITHBOX, I just call him Scott, my friend,) Are working on. Its called Cannabis in a Jar, and it would be an honor, 2 have you play and maybe even give a suggestion. We have great fun with are songs and they come out positive.
I hadn't noticed your name on the featured list since the last time I saw Ska Skank come up. I like this one more; something in the vocals in the second half of this song resonates better with me, I guess.
I listened a bunch of times, since you asked for tweaks, and I finally found a small, possibly constructive something to bring to the table. I think the horns that come in at ~1:10 could be brought forward a little bit more. It might just be the way my speakers are positioned/balanced, but I sort of lose the lower part of the sax(?) on that part.
Hi Slap.
Really relaxing track, beautiful melodies in this one.
Saddly, I've reverted to using my old built-in speakers so the quality is lacking, and it's distorting a bit but I'm sure with some half decent speakers this track would be truly amazing.
I'll relisten and re-review when I get some new speakers.
As always, great work.
Hi Helix, sorry to hear about your kak speakers.
Being a jazz musician is great, because you have to create melody instantly when improvising.
I'm glad you like the track...
oh this one's nice and relaxing... i did nothing all day... after listening to this one i want to do some more recording... Great job for just laying it down the way it comes to you...
WOW- They are right the bar on the competition is definitely at its highest level! I just posted my entry into the competition but while I was working on it I did not want to listend to other versions. Now that it is posted I am checking them out and man you and that sax must have been born as TWINS. LOL I could feel it as you hit that upper register-- Great Job!! Just hope you come in second LOL Take care my friend!! Will be listening to some of you other tunes!! Take care Fila
Umm.... how do you follow an act like this??? I mean really? As one member put it, it almost makes you not want to post anything. (lol) Great job slap, I'd say you'd reach the peak of spirituality on this track. And I'm sure we're all blown away, (lol) excellent. D :)
Being a fellow sax player for 10 years, i can say your sampling is impeccable. i put it down about 4 years ago , but i took a lot with me. Ska bands rock, plain and simple. This song reminds me a lot of the same sounds as Spyro Gyra (maybe spelled wrong.). If ya don't know who that is... then you should. Your songs have a lot of time taken to arrange. its tedious work.. but required. Once my drum set is mic'd i can shoot you some sets or something. but as far as criticism..... ID SAY MORE COWBELL!
Much love~J. just curious, you using a jazz mouth peice? if so what kind?
Hey Cool!...is there no genre you don't do..this is way Skanky Dread..I don't know what Jersey looks like but he's coming across as some dread lock lookin' dude but streetz!...this works very well it's got flava...and there's good syncopation within the space the lyrics occupy...I suppose it's a crossover track ..it's not rap and not funk...I'd say it rock's but that's not appropriate as well....Skanky Dread then for me..way good..very enjoyable..cheers
Haha...just got the GSN track...had to come and check out the vibe again and see what's required man...A throbbin' bobbing beat by all accounts..lol..freakin' wicked track man!..:)
this is more than just luck. you have a serious talent. your music will be played well after you and i are gone. keep it up slap. think ill draw the girlfriend a bath and put this one on when she comes home.
p.s. the sheet music was exactly what he needed. he will soon be a member of looperman
