Haha, thanks man. I've always been into Funk. To me, that's when music was the best. All about experimentation, fun, and love, ya know? Glad I could represent that well and that ya dug it. Later on!
I've experimented with goa a few times so let me tell you what I find is a good psychedelic key signature. Well I don't know it's name, but here are the notes.
C
C#
D#
E
G
G#
A#
The three most important notes are C, D#, and E, usually in that order.
Holy S**T!!!
I want to DnB remix this sooooooo bad, if you could break up the loops for me and send them over, I would drop a reese, and a Reese like beat over it....
Hey lil bro. Thanks for the heads up there (I'm still mostly just a percussionist with a couple of keyboards, haha).
As for remixing this, shoot JahKnow an email and have him send you what he did. Personally, I like that version better, but if you'd like the crazy synths I added to it I can email you a link to a folder I got all of 'em stored on (eSnips). Which reminds me, it prolly wouldn't hurt to add 'em here too now. So thanks for both mate. Later on!
Lol, Sounds good Donnie. You got me stumped with the origin of the drums. Its driving me crazy please tell me where they came from. I would fail if this was the daily double. We should definatly work on some 8 bit stuff together. That would be cool!
As for the drums, haha, I aint sayin here (remind me to tell you in an email sometime, cool). As for collabin on a game track just lemme know what you were thinking and we'll see what we can do (though I'd prefer to roll one from scratch, ya know, easier that way I think). Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Wow DV you made that into something pretty fantastic. A real nice tune to take a journey with. This collab idea I feel could lead to a lot more GOA trance. You say the word next time you want to get out there again,
Thanks Jah, and since you know what my original pads sound like you really know how much stuff I hadta do to make 'em sound worth a darn.
And I agree, I'm thinking we could take the lead into trying to encourage people to make more different kinds of music on here. Not just with Goa, but with a variety of genres.
In fact, check out my latest collab challenge on here (about indo-chinese grooves). I want it all, baby, haha.
Oh, and be on the look out with this song, coz I honestly wanna go back & mix it more before this weekend.
As for collabin, will def letcha know. Later on!
Hey DV.....this is unbelievable.....well done guys for the colab...really enjoyed the bass, drums and pads......frantic pace with great fx

Thanks mate. I couldn't believe how good this turned out either. And I'm actually shocked that it came together like it did. Seems like most of the collab ideas/offers I throw out there go ignored, mostly.
As for the track again, I can't wait to hear what XxYoung does for this (and I might even go back n do some mixing of this later on tonight). Thanks for stoppin by. Later on!
Dude this is way cool, I love this type of trance. Except for the fact that it makes my eyes trip out for no reason. im at school and i had to stop it cause my eyes couldn't focus on the board. But its all good cause thats a good thing, Haha. Great work guys...
Haha, that's cool mate. Though the eye thing? Oh wait, I see, you were multitasking, lol. Yeah, I get the same thing with trying to focus on more than one thing at a time. The downside of aging with ADHD (is that in some ways it wears off and in others it gets worse, shrugs). Glad ya dug it. Later on!
I can hear why you dubbed this world house, interesting combination. I love how everything changes around 1:15, it gets really intense. All of your stuff seems to put me in mind of some crazy jazz musicians going at it or something. Nice one! Thanks for sharing!
It's odd that ya mention Jazz musicians, because for a few months now I've been trying to emulate their way of searching for new approaches to making music. It seems to fit perfectly with my 'experimental stance' with what I make.
If fact, I recently watched this program on PBS about Winton Marsalis about how is band works together. On it there were different members of the band discussing how they purposely wrote music to challenge the other members of the band (all in good fun though, nothing of spite). It was so great that I left feeling inspired, like their love for music and eachother made me want to be like them.
Though musically, Jazz hasn't always been my cup of Tea and even today, there's only some forms of it that I fancy (classic swing, for example, just love it).
As for the blend on this track. I guess I've got some Eastern preferences, because here I was basically trying to marry Caribbean and Indo-asian styles/sounds. Which was kinda easy since the two forms of music are really similar to one another (atleast percussive and tempo-wise). Glad ya dug it. Later on!
This reminds me of some crazy jazz someone might make if they had a bunch of unusual instruments at their disposal. I dig it - but wait that means i'm on some intense stuff. oh no! Thanks for sharing this ultra creative track!
Thanks mate, I dunno what it is. This year is beginning to mark my ventures into the extremely experimental. Kinda like, I've stopped caring for the things I know and wanna be out there, on a thin limb with everything that I do. Sometimes it pays off (Whooplash & here), sometimes it doesn't (NESness & @30k Feet). Glad ya dug it. Later on!
This is really good guys....It actually sounds as if it came from one artist...every sound compliments each other to perfection...the FX on this are brilliant D..and the alien samples from Pitch Black are on point (I love that film)..this is my first experience of Goa Trance and I hope it isn't the last...this track really sets the bar high...
Hey Ash,
Didn't use any samples. Just played my NanoKey all crazy and then tweeked 'em with an effect or two to get that sound. And in a way it did come from one artist-
Me...
JK (bad joke, sorry)!
Naw, seriously, I'd really like to thank the guy who wrote the script for Tron which served as the inspiration for this. If he hadn't written it this wouldn't've been made.
As for Goa- one word (sorta)= www.DI.fm (they got a channel dedicated to this music and is where I usually will listen to it... works best if you've got WinAmp or Itunes, faster bitrate on those).
As for the bar- we'll see, we'll see. XxYoung's currently workin on adding the leads. Glad you enjoyed it. Later on!
Thank Mouko for the great groove of this track. It isn't often when a track reaches out and grabs ya, but that's what happened here. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
weird track mate i have to say, if i didnt know it was intentional i admit i probly wouldnt get it either. but i quite like this track the drums rolling in and out give it a real laid back cruisy almost ambient feel, i think youve captured the spirit of the track well with the title, it also kinda makes me think of rolling scenery (dunno if u get that or not). tho parts of the track dont seem to me that they would intuitively fit together they actually make for quite easy listening, thats big props on your part mate. and cheers 2 for bringing this comp to everyones attention, i know i had fun with it :)
sketch
Yeah, I think I do. Would it be anything like flying at a low altitude over some hills or maybe the dunes of a beach?
And I think you nailed it, this is geared to be a mellow house track. Not in the traditional 'go-out-n-dance' kinda groove, but the 'kick-back-with-the-big-headphones' way. So it's sorta like dance music for doing homework to or something.
As for the comp, it was an ad on here, but I figured it needed to be highlighted so that more people would discover it. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Hi all.
I'm really getting down to this track, I like the groove to the intro, that bass is awesome. I love the chord sequence. I think the FX really makes this track though, some really cool alien esque sounds. In the latter parts of the song I think the crash cymbal is a bit quiet. I'm liking what I'm hearing. Can't wait for more.
Cool deal Helix,
I just shot the samples over to XxYoung the other day so this'll definately be entering it's next stage of evolution soon. Anyways, glad ya dug it. Later on!
Hello
Enjoyed your track but I am a real percussion junkie so it is well suited to me. I really like the bells I thinks bells can add a sorta dark and eerie feel to house tracks and I like that, they are a bit loud in the mix as you say yourself but its a good tune mate.
Regards
Krook
Yeah, I am too (perc junky) and the I thought the Bells were great, but in a spaced out and vacant sorta way. Like I probably couldn't've gotten away with using them alot, ya know. As for the rest, I'll prolly rework this sometime during the summer. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
Hey Sal,
I hear ya buddy. Course, I dunno how much Goa you listen to, but Kicks are kinda optional there, ya know?
Course, Jahknow might hear this, see what you wrote and go back to tweek his Drums.
Coz remember- its the first version of this. A concept which I'm sure will undergo quite a few changes and modifications before the final product is ready (read what I wrote Travis about some of my lil flub ups, haha).
And we (collectively speaking) haven't even discussed the remix version I wanna do once the final is done. Prech the feedback. Later on!
Nice, I like how my bass loops sound in this! The 1st note of the bass is a G but you said you started with a D on the pads. Oh well key signatures aren't extremely important with goa/psytrance.
Okies, we've got a DV brain-fart here.
I was thinkin the C# was a B and was shooting for a diminished B chord. Haha, opps. The other stuff I added was for movement/fluidity. As you can tell from listening to the rough-cut copy I spent alot of time fooling around on the C key. So I suppose they compliment eachother. And you can tell that I wasn't pleased with what I did so I went back and made the effected midi sample.
Course as you said, it doesn't really matter with Goa and with as many effects as I added it really, really doesn't.
We've also got the midi file on hand so any of us can edit it to fit better.
And I almost forgot, but I began playing my portion after yours had (I think it was a little over 1 section/loop).
Feel free to save the files that are in that one folder I sent ya and lay 'em out on the sequence board to see how it looks.
Aww crap, I just realized another booboo. I didn't lead the second parts for Pad loops 1 & 2 with the gap, dammit. I can fix that later when I get back from goin out.
As for your loops, I really wanted them to take the limelight and tried to have what I added be background, for effect-like stuff.
I'm thinkin whoever does the Leads for this ought to find some happy middle-ground between our stuff. Well mate, I'm headin outta here. Later on!
OOOooh, I love the little funky plucky bass that you got goin on. This track definitely rolls so far, I like the way it ebbs and flows. Can't say I like firefighters though, I'm sorry, they stood by while the cops assaulted me during a grand mal seizure -trauma ya know. Great track so far though! Thanks for sharing!
Yeah, that kinda sux, but that's one of the downsides to any uniform service. Side one, it's all about following orders. Side two, is the whole 'brothers in arms' thing that kinda teams everyone up to watch out for one another.
As for the track, I could prolly rename it 'fire truck' coz of the way it moves. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
I like the reversing of the beats a lot but you did it for too long, it's a good way to bring in changes, like hat or bassline or whatever. The fading in the beginning doesn't sound good to me. The vocals work well. There are some clicks after the reversing too, or it happens in a subtly abrupt way. Where did you get the acapella?
Haha, its cool. I've got a whole other 23 on the back-burner waitin to get reactivated. I just did that because I was wantin some of these tracks to get more coverage.
Considering how most people on here just scan through the first 5 or 10 tracks, know what I mean?
The revo style's something that I've been experimenting with for a hot minute now. And I agree, I think I may've overdone it on this one (specially that part with the vox in rev section).
As for the problem areas, yeah, I see what you're saying. This is kind of in the 'rough sketch' stage. So I'll def haveta go back & tweek this one some.
As for additional parts, I did this in my conventional (mostly unchanged) style of remixing stuff. Single song, 2 or 3 channels, mostly with just effects and volume level manipulations.
As for the vox, I asked Esh and she said it was off of Magix. She must have a different version then the one I have coz I could only find one of the voc-sams she used in my loop library.
But anyways, aren't they great? And have you heard her vers yet?? Glad ya dug it. Later on!
PS. If ya run outta tunes on here I've got oodles more on my Soundclick page, cool!?
Sounding crazy man, the studdering lead though doesn't loop well, sound's like an almost finished loop. That sound going in the background is soooo crazy.
I have a NES controller with the cheating turbo button =D!
Haha, I had 2 with the cheating turbo. The Max was one and I can't remember what the other was called (it looked like motorcycle handle bars).
As for the stuttering lead, they were all soundfonts of Magix (which are kinda so-so I'm thinkin). The background pads were added in a similar fashion to the Animal drum track I recently uploaded. Just went nuts on mashin down random keys. Later on!
