Very nicely done! Loved the drums/bass. Had a nice powerfully deep feel to it. Then the melody lightened everything else up. Overall, very peaceful song. Props for making it on an itouch haha :D

Movie track, insta movie track, just awesome. Im feeling this vibe. Faved man, faved. Very relaxedd. Really feeling it, just perfect for chilling, doing HW or art...whatever floats the day along. I actually think it should stay where its at...minimal and clean, its like listening to ambient music, just not as sporadic or swung.

Just clean that ending brother and you are in the excellence zone. Im thoroughly impressed.

This just inspired me...a lot. Im going to take a stab at making something so...peaceful.

Great work Thanx, truly, great work.

Thanks dude, glad you liked this one. The ending is getting fixed, plus the new bassline in on the way... Glad it was inspiring!
Anyway, let me know the BPM for regrowth... I can probably figure it out, but it's easier if you just tell me. I'd LOVE to cook up some drums.

Been hovering about this one for the last few days finally got around to pressing play...you guys set out to do exactly what you have done and that is revive the blues on the loop..man you really can play the harmonica...i find when i stick it out the window of my car doing 70mph...i get a great sound from it lol...but seriously...very musical and true to form..both very talented. great job on doing this. peace.
Thethanx
Thethanx replied Unknown
Well that's the nice thing about harmonica... It's pretty damn hard to NOT get a good sound out of it. Anyway, from both of us, thanks for the listen, Mr. Funktastic put a lot of time into this one, and his work really shows! Thanks again!

This truly is a treat for the ears. The blues have so much soul & this totally continues that tradition. I look forward to hearing more collabs & keep tootin that harmonica. I loved this! All around the production quality, everything. A+ everything. This is how you capture people my friends, great music with soul!

Thanks from us both! I agree about the transitions, Funktastic did a great job keeping this piece moving and changing it up. My favorite is when he drops the bassline! Thanks again!

Nice Job...kinda funny that you named it what you did because it has kind of an urban dream state feel to it to me.
Thethanx
Thethanx replied Unknown
Sorry for the long response time. Urban dream state is a cool description. I love when people come up with stuff like that about my tracks. Welcome to purple by the way! If you're still interested I'd love to collab on something for my old "I treat my girl with respect" track as well.

on Without Dub (V1) by Thethanx
ooo i am digging the bassline. good choice for a sound.
actually this whole sound set is phat azz!
yeah bro ya kept it dub alla way.
digital rubba dubba.
only thing(wich i allways lose track of myself)....
less is more.
a really minimal break down with just the bass an perc(delayed)some werz in da middle????

just a thought,
really this dub rocks.

be good =}
Thethanx
Thethanx replied Unknown
Thanks for the review! I guess I only consider it partially a dub track, but I like the idea about the minimal breakdown with some delay. I'll see with my Iphone, but I might have to wait until I get a better DAW... Right now I can only have 16 layers, and adding effects for only one part is a bit of a chore... Beatmaker is sorta designed for live production so sometimes that kinda stuff is hard. Glad you like the bass sound! I used an iphone app called Bassline, which is a pretty solid VSTI. Thanks for the feedback!

Man this dope as all hell, brings you on an epic journey of rhyme and reason, very relaxing with a euphoric state of mind. I am Faving and Downloading. If I come up with something then I'll hit you up. Keep up the great working this track is fire.

Peace,
Chris Mac

Thethanx replied Unknown
Well if you're interested in laying down rhymes on it, I can probably come up with an arrangement more conducive to that... When I composed the piece I never really planned on someone laying something down, so it might change at weird times/ be a little overbearing for vocals. Thanks for the fav and DL, and PM me if you want a custom arrangement!

Thanks... Even giving this one a relisten I realize it's very deserving of it's "version 1" title and needs some rearranging to make it pop. Glad you like though, gives me a reason to keep at it.

I don't know if you have ever heard of a band called Scapegoat Waxx, but this reminded me of one of their songs called My Evelyn... Awesome. I love the chill of it and the room it leaves for individual interpretation. Great work

Thanks for the review, and no, I had NOT heard scapegoat wax, but I gave a listen to that evenlyn song you mentioned. It's super tight thought, thanks for the positive review!

I agree with dude about this being a sonic journey... Its a great listen i love the creativity maybe the clap EQ brought to the one thousand a little and certain other instruments there... it all depends on what you want people to get from the track i think instrumentally this is extremely creative love it, keep it up
Thethanx
Thethanx replied Unknown
Thanks for the review. I think I'm gonna give the whole drum line a solid reworking since it's the most consistently critiqued part of the song. I'll see what I can do about those claps!
Thanks for the review!

Reminds me of some Moby stuff.
Very nice and relaxed, I can't believe it was made with the iPhone.
Good work.

A really sweet chil out track. I like the arrangement and the production. Has me swaying back and forth in my chair, lol, for me that is major dancing :-)

Is it just me or is there a sadness about the track. I also feel optimism, but I feel sadness, maybe loss.

Interesting track. Thought provoking. Didn't like the abrupt ending lol

btw, feel free to send me a copy of the song you did using my lyrics, I look very much forward to hearing what you've done :-)

Nice work mon ami

John

Thanks for the review I'm glad it got you moving... Interesting you should mention sadness and loss, it certainly wasn't intentional, but without burdening you with my life story I'd say it's very possible that's creeping into my music as of late. The optimism is probably just because I'm a very optimistic person lol.

The abrupt ending is being fixed. I don't like it either ;)
I'll record "banging my head against a rock wall" really soon. I need to keep practicing and singing it... Sometimes I still stop halfway through and forget the chord changes or the next line.
I'll make sure you get a copy though!
