Description : This unconventional metal track is dedicated to Valvedriver https://www.looperman.com/users/profile/841435 though it's not a parody of his fine music or me actively trying to sound like it. I struggled for months with the first few minutes of this track knowing that I must be able to take it somewhere deeper, more psychedelic and powerful. Then I loaded some sampled choir voice instruments, as used in my track Reckful https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/160356 and suddenly found myself happily in Valveland - not a place I visit often. Feeling amply Valvedriven and newly inspired, I added the last few minutes fairly easily and very quickly. So: it's a twisting, turning mixture of grunge, menacing ambient, mystical metal and ultra-heavy funk. Instruments: electric guitar+bass, synth basses, female choir voices, one synth pad, some other synths on the nastier side of things and a few programmed heavy acoustic drumkits playing a mixture of triplets and straighter grooves. Interesting thoughts appreciated. Favourite bits? Shit bits? Please listen on good headphones/speakers as there's a lot of heavy bass in this. Now get ready to rock: balls out, hands in the air and with rebellious joy in your heart. Just try not to headbang the hell out of your laptop. Go!

Description : A progressive journey incorporating deep ambient chillout, swing jazz, hip hop, d'n'b, trance and a slight touch of acid with a thousand ninjas battling in space. Features a great deal of my lead slide resonator guitar playing. Also a whole load of synths, programmed acoustic drum kits and manipulated drum loops, big basslines, regular electric guitar, vocoded guitar parts and bass guitar (distorted right at the end). If you like deep chill, far out soaring beauty, fat beats and 170 BPM uplifting slide trance controlled mayhem, you might just get into this. In my heaven there is an endless supply of honey mangoes (an exquisite beauty of the fruit world) and even more slide guitar. A 1,000-year-long version of this track plays there on a loop (long enough not to get bored of it) but here I offer you the Earthly 11 min version. You must be very good to be accepted into my heaven to hear the full thousand year version so best start now. It may be heaven's main theme tune but it's not above criticism so feel free to let me know what you think of it. Maybe you prefer the soundtrack in hell. I hear it's pretty badass...

I redid this song and it is not available for free download on my Bandcamp and can viewed on my brand spankin new YouTube Channel
So I decided to try a little experiment with creating a song; I randomly generated a few sounds, and made song with them after adding some Signature Bass, modifying a sound to be a light Grinde, and some (kinda) custom Perc. One of the sounds reminded me of a cicada, the little bugs that at first are eerie, then annoying, then strangly peaceful once you get used to their chirps. BUT, this song was created with the idea of them swarming a future urban area. I shot for Ambient Glitchstep, but I got something like a combo of Glitch, Trap, and Dubstep, I'm gonna call it "Urban-Tek"

Description : Felt like taking a break from vocals for a weekend, so here's my new instrumental effort. Can't say I've ever made a song quite like this, but it still sounds like Spivkurl. The variety is mostly represented in the subtleties. It was interesting for me to find the big differences in feelings of C# major when compared to the basic C major key. I can't quite figure out what genre this is, so I'm using fusion, as it has elements of electronic, chill out, ambient, and glitch to name a few. Thanks for checking it out! Description : Melancholic ambient about the passing of time. It was inspired by this fragment from Roger Ebert's book 'Two Weeks in the Midday Sun'. Ebert is interviewing Tony Curtis about this thing called life and Curtis says this to him: ''Let me tell you a story, sort of a parable. One day in 1948 I went to Hollywood. My name was Bernie Schwartz. I signed a contract at Universal, and I bought a house in the hills. It had a swimming pool. Unheated, but it had water in it. One night I came home late, I jumped in the pool, I swam a few laps, I got out, I dried myself off, I put on my clothes, and I walked directly into this room and sat down and started to talk to you. Do you see what I'm saying?''

Description : 'In Paris With You' is a poem by James Fenton about breaking up. I found this audio reading of that poem a few years ago on the net (gone since, would like to give credits). I took out the parts of the rendition that fitted the mood of this track. The sensual singing is by Janis71 (merci!), courtesy of LooperMan. I went for an 'early Enigma'-sound combined with a lazy jazz-trumpet and rich ambient violins, giving it the big city-feel I love so much in soundtracks like Last Tango, Taxidriver and work by Lalo Schifrin (the melancholic parts of Rollercoaster). This is also a hommage, certainly, to Serge Gainsbourg.
