I wasn't really into this for maybe the first 30 seconds because I felt like there was too much going on, but as I just sat back and relaxed, this immediately grew on me and I didn't even really realize it until the song ended. And then I played it again and liked it all the way through. I love the basslines and the scratching (that bit from 2:43 to 3:01 with what sounds like a female vocal sample is just beautiful) and as mentioned in your description, the old school feel. I don't listen to too much hip-hop, but when I do, this is the kind of stuff that I like. Nice work.
The random:
Dunno why, but this reminds me of the San Fran level of the PS1 game Driver mixed with that one laboratory scene in the movie Formula 51.
The good:
Great usage of turntablism on here and I'm half tempted to ask what kinda controller yer usin for it (real or USB device or program VST). The beats and bass were pretty tight. Reminds me of a mix between Fat Boy Slim, Beastie Boys, and Dub Pistols. The vox were pretty tight, though I'm strugglin to figure out what the point of the message is.
The bad & suggestions:
Nothing really comes to mind as being obvious or whatever (mixdown & style-wise). Hmm, well, there is that second & third bit of scratches and vox-sams that seemed to come out as a bit too hot (compared to the rest of the song). A noticeable build that possibly went up a lil high. Then again, that could've been an editing choice on your part (preferences and all that). Either way, that's the only thing that came to mind on what I'd wanna work on. Beyond that, it's pretty jammin mate. Lates!
I am so lovin' the vibe in this song. It is that rare/ smooth hard kinda like those classics like "wicked", and "Know the ledge"
Hard combo to pull off and you did it perfect.
Cant wait to listen to more.

Description : Something i did when i was about 15, and when i still made beats. This particular track is actually the reason i decided to get into composing at all. I had a good run with the beats and hip-hop scene, but i always had a leaning more towards composing and this, i think, is the catalyst for that revelation. This beat is 9 years old, and gives you a sense of what it was like to be a young, passionate, musically driven teen. Thank you.
