please bear with me if i mislable the genre. thsi is my first attempt at anything raeggae/caribbean-esque...or at least thats what this started out as. somewhere, it took a wrong turn down a dark alley in the not so nice part of town lol [as do so many of my tracks]. this has got a sister track that i may put up later...its a bit darker. any suggestions are greatly appreciated [as long as youre not suggesting i dont quit my day job]!

Haha, great description. Yes this is darker than most laid back Caribbean music, but I could almost see a daring and serious couple taking this to the dace floor. I like how you pair up the bass with the steel drums. Speaking of which, Love those steel drums and the shakers are ill. Nice work oasisduke!
sank eww!! im so glad you enjoyed the steel drums. they were a bi*ch to work with at times, but im really proud of the way they came out.
cheers for the review!
HELLO ...I LIKE THE BEAT ,,,ISLAND STORM...BUT I MUST SAY THIS IN REGGAETON THE DEMBOW SOUND IS...WHAT MAKES IT REGGAETON ....NORMALLY .......IN REGGAETON WE USE 3 SNARES 4 KICKS AND 6 CLAP AND A BACK GROUND EFFECT...IF YOU SEND AN EMAIL MAYBE I CAN SEND YOU SOME SAMPLES ...BUT YOUR TRACK IS GOOD ....ADAMELCANO68@AOL.COM.
cheers for the review. again, i am new to the reggaeton/reggae/dub genres...if you feel it belongs in another genre list, please let me know.
i appreciate you listening.
What's really cool about this (imho)is how you've taken inspiration from the location, and then interpreted it into something that's really your own.
This is solidly grounded in Caribbean influences, yet it's no longer Caribbean music. I'm a percussion fiend, and I'm really digging what you've done here. Certainly motivates me to listen to more of your work. That says much.
what a great review. thank you. i am touched that you brought up the percuss on this, cause it is what i am most proud of on this piece. so glad you liked what you heard!
thank you so much. the first ones always the hardest, yeah? but now im excited to play with this genre some more...
cheers for the review and continued support...its much appreciated!
I don't know much about this genre, but I can tell you've created a very cool and interesting piece! I really like the groove created by the shakers, it's awesome! In fact the whole drum track is very cool! Catchy tune my friend, great work!
i didnt notice. thats what happens when you make a track in 15min, then post it immediately, cause you want some quick feedback. i ll have a second listen and see if i cant tweak it.
cheers for the listen adn the review!
Description : If you ever wondered if my crazy drum machines can do also Reggae, yes they can. A totally human produced song with human made samples and loops, with no AI and "unprocessed" voices to fight the stormy Dartmoor winter mood. Just KayOS in Reggae style. If you like our music, please look us up on kayos2.bandcamp.com
Description : Music composed by Alex Richard and Laurent Wirz. With: Hanspeter Dubach Lead and rhythm guitars, Alex Richard Bass and rhythm guitars, Claude Barbotte Hammond organ, Joël Perrin Saxophone and me at the drums. The two grooves I used for this one are to find under Loops and Sample, member laurentwirz, reggae. Also an excellent loop from member ebae. I have to say that I asked Michael Mayo before publishing it but I received no answer yet. It was pretty difficult with his acapella because it's a pretty short loop with not a lot of words (for an almost 5 minutes track)! You can ear also some background vocals from Patricia Edwards and I hope it's okay for her.

Description : Guitars, keys and vox by me. LM drum loops 130_Dagger_Live_Drums, 23sk-drums-reverb-spring-roots and alabafruit. Horns from Loopmasters dub and reggae horns sample demos.
Description : This track contains only free loops from several Looperman artists. I think one of my best works lately... but wonder if it's ok with headphones too - there a lot of very rough cuts. Enjoy!
Applied loops (fully or partially):
Description : Richard Shekari and I worked on this project earlier this year. I play bass, guitar, banjo, dobro and also sing on this. Richard added a cool harmonica sound and has an amazing voice. I have learned a lot from him, Richard produced this track.
Description : Took the rundown acapella from ThaSuspect, chopped'it and made a Reggae Instrumental.
Please use it to add Verses and a Chorus.
Hope you like it.
Description : A quick idea I did in one day, 2 mixes, more an exercise for myself than anything serious. Inspirations were a Peter Tosh docu for the reggae feel, a surfing vid on what a point break was for the vox, the Ace of Bass vid The Sign for the drums and Jaco Pastorius song Crisis for a bit of inspirational bass thrown in. 2 drum loops used and a vocal effect loop for the heck of it in the middle, he. Live percussion, cabasa, guiro and double maraca. Me on git, bass, vox. Here comes Summer!

Description : I uploaded the vocals in 2012, Soap BRILLIANTLY produced this track around them. I was listening and thought I'd share as well. Don't forget to stop at his place and leave some Looper love! Enjoy!
Description : NEW - 2014 - I used a few samples from sterixx called riddim.
And one from seanmccuaig called vocal beat.
I used some lyrics from an older song by myself. It was more a dark wave song befor but i realy enjoyed it to sing and produce it in reggae style.
Hope you enjoy this version also.
