Thanks for stoppin by to review I really appreciate it! This track has a few cool things about it, I think mostly the feeling or mood, I tend to put together dissonant, intense and contemplative things. And this one certainly makes me feel exactly the way you say it. Thx again.

CONEYISLANDRECORDS 24th Jul 2009 11:36 - 17 years ago

Haha, crazy in a cool way. reminds me of this band called HelloGoodbye. If you havent heard them check em out. Kudos to you on the cool track. Kinda got and 8 bit feel to it.

CalifKen replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Listening to em now! they're like from within an hours drive of me, and touring all right now. i am going to try and check em out if I can. diggin em. Thanks for the kudos bro.

About the 8 bit, I did learn music theory from Nintendo (that's like 47% true), so yeh. :) Cheers.

Very interesting. I like the transitions from one section to the next- they flowed really well and built the anticipation. I like the chord progressions and the interesting melodies that were different enough from each other that they kept things interesting with variety but similar enough that they provided cohesiveness. I like how in each section, a different facet of the music (the bass, the drums, the synths, etc.) each took a lead role at different times. Each one got to be the "star" at some point in the song. This is not usually my genre but I enoyed the listen. It really kept my interest and was fun. Kper

CalifKen replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Thank you so much for the detailed review. I like what you said about each facet taking the lead as it progressed, as I didn't see that before. I tend to underrate cohesiveness and exchange it for something that keeps my attention, sometimes to the detriment of the final product. Thanks again.

Description : With this song, I wanted to challenge how we perceive darkness and the power we allow it to have over us. Rooted in Scripture, it's a reminder that evil is no equal to God, Christ's victory is absolute and darkness can never overcome the light.
