Hey Mark. Saw you replying on an old track of mine and it felt like a cue to get back to LM and listen to some great stuff over here. To see you on top of the tracklist made me smile and I knew it was the good decision! What anice track my man! You definetly did not lost the magic touch. So much going on in such a clean mix. Very solid composition and especially the brass is carrying this beautiful piece of music eventhough the drums are top notch as well. Is this played live?

This is cool. I loved the intro, had me thinking of Lalo Schifrin, I may have made this comparison on one of your other tracks? At times it reminded me of the James Taylor Quartet too (both are amazing in my opinion). The drums and percussion are a real driving force to the song and the sax sounds absolutely stellar. There's plenty going on here to keep the listener engaged from start to finish, I really liked the Bossa Nova sounding part at 1.48. What can I say? It's a really great track, top marks.

Greetings B.V.! Correct, you put me up on Lalo, and of course I was blown away! Likewise with the James Taylor Quartet. I really appreciate your stop and impressions you've shared. It's great what you heard was a good listen.

Peace,

B.O.M.! Greetings. Thank you for stopping through and sharing your thoughts. When I wrote this out I first thought the keys were ok. But when I started my first round of proofing the mix going over everything, the keys pretty much dominates as much as the sax's. My focus is different when write and mix versus when I proof listen to my tracks. I appreciate the compliments.

Peace,

Hi kingmt77, this music was quite picturesque for me. On holiday somewhere and then fitting in like after a week or so, casually going to some nice beach bar, ordering a drink. To find they really got everything you could imagine and a bit more. It wasn't planned, but worked out very well. Love the sax, nicely done!

As you know, Mark, me and jazz are chalk n' cheese but I loved the opening - gave me proper Rocky vibes. A very smooth, eclectic production with your artistic flair ;) I like the scribbly echoey bit at the end, too - that was v Kayos-2ish! Also I got some Duke Ellington vibes - kinda 'Do Nothin til you hear from Me'. In other words, I liked your track - big smiles

This is why Brother Mark is the "King". I don't think Mark has ever done anything that I didn't absolutely love and admire. For AlexBorvin (below), I believe Jazz is the musician's genre. It can be the most intricate and complex style of music. I've known many musicians in my over 50 years of production. The vast majority don't believe they have mastered their craft until they can competently play Jazz. Mark "The King" has a deep connection. You are hearing masterful Jazz. Thanks for sharing this with us. Cosmo

It's hard for me to give a proper description. I don't understand the genre. But I see many people like it. I love jazz. I just don't understand it.

I guess I'm stuck on the fact that the drums are too loud. I'd probably like some hi-hats and light percussion. Overall, it's a good melody.

Greetings Alex. The stop and time you've taken out is valued and treasured. Jazz is an genre that also has sub-genres. Entry level includes jazz pop or smooth jazz. At the other end of the spectrum you find avant-garde which pushes the limits. I'm somewhere in between with this track, with an jazz blended with a heavy funk emphasis (the bass). Also at the 1:33 mark my overall time signature shifted slightly for a few bars up to the change. With that move the whole feel changed. My wife always tells me she has to study the elements I bake into my tracks LOL! So I totally get what your saying.

Sorry but not sorry about the drum mix! To lighten any of the percussive elements would destroy what I'm conveying here. I'm glad the melody served you well. Thanks again for your observations. Stay safe.

Mark you are a true gift to our community, from my first days on this platform i have listened to you, Jazz is inside you, like non other here, you and Steven and Matthias were a huge help to me when i first started, you were my peers and lead the way in how to be a pillar in the community, be constructive be helpful, reply to comments when people give you time and most important continue to improve, you where also a teacher too, you made me dig deeper and find goodies in engineering, I'm still here listening to you 6 years later, lets say I still consider you as a mentor, your arrangements amaze me always, i only have to concentrate really on my vocal positioning, that's hard enough, but you play and conduct the orchestra and jazz section and everything is always tight, you are a great listen and a valued musical friend, and this piece smacked from the very first beat, loved its pace and drive, funky jazzy a fantastic mix, Mark you do know I have sciatica, your not helping, i just wanna swing bruv and 3 1/4 min how, it has everything your longer pieces have in a shorter time great work mate super listen, your a great artist i'm proud to consider a friend too

What you heard you liked and that is again my BAFTA LOL! Thanks for the continued support and friendship as always. You be and stay safe. P.S. Tell Mr. Sciatica Exactly where to go!

Here in Greece, for situations like yours, we say "unplayable," meaning you can't possibly compete, like trying to play basketball against the Harlem Globetrotters. It shows just how gifted a musician and composer you are, and it's something to admire and be proud of having you among us. I have no reason to sugarcoat my words; these are simply my thoughts, sparked by the magic of your music, King. The track is just great!
Best wishes, Anthony

I've got a lot to learn. Your feedback reminds me of the board game "Battleship". Hitting the target is my goal. Your feedback is invaluable.

Amazing!
I have a weakness for the sound of the saxophone, and this piece is incredible; it has tremendous energy. I admire artists who are capable of creating works like this. And I agree with Manuela, what we would have missed if you had switched to pop, hahaha.
Best regards.
