Nice track mate. It's kinda chill but that distorted bass gives it that right amount of power that I like. The vocals are also beautiful. Very well put together overall. Great work.

Thanks, glad and honored you like it. I admire your work, especially what you accomplished in the D&B track "Echoes" years ago, and am happy to see that you have been creative lately, too. Wish you all the best.

True artists continue working on their art, sometimes for months or years at a time. Sometimes they dont come back to it for years, even decades. Persistence in the face of adversity, and also staying true to the vision that was ultimately was YOURS is very admirable. We have heard massive improvements from the first time we listened to now, so congratulations on that. This is your personal journey and your tribute to your fallen friend, and its only right that that journey remains exactly how you want it to be. We are just bystanders allowed to accompany you, after all.

I just realized I never commented on your hit track.
I don't usually listen to this style of music, but you have to acknowledge the complexity of this rhythm. The sounds are super clear and defined (something I still need to work on, haha), and I especially like it when the strings come in around 1:50. I also really liked another track you uploaded, "Bad Dream."
Given its success... great job.

P.S. I'm sorry about your pet Gizmo. I know what it's like to lose a being who's always loyal by your side. I've dedicated half my life to caring for rescued animals. I don't rescue any more, but I'll stay with the ones I still have (who are very old) until the end.

Best regards, Juan Carlos

Look, Ben, because I dont really listen to this particular genre of music, Im probably not the most suitable person to give a fully accurate opinion. However, its a track with a distinctive style. I really like the vocals and the vocal effects you usedthe groove is great, the bass is very solid, and the drums are tight and well put together. The changes and effects give the track a strong mood, which I enjoyed a lot. Overall, the production is very good. The sound quality is good as wellmaybe its even ideal for this genre, Im not entirely sure. Regards, Chris.

Hey Anthony,
thank you very much for your (second) feedback. I am glad you enjoyed listening, now ;). The track has been revised multiple times since the upload.
In the end, I am pretty happy with the outcome itself and the overwhelming resonance here on LM. You all supported me with your condelences, constructive reviews, likes as well as downloads in order to stay motivated.
Hence, I rather consider it a community project and am very thankful to be a part of it.
Last but not least I am pretty sure that Gizmo likes his tribute, too :) ...

Toller Song! Liebe Gruesse vom Niederrhein Manuela

Hi Benjamin. I don't know what changes you ultimately made to the song, as I'm not familiar with the previous versions. As it is now, I think it's perfect. To be honest, though, this genre isn't really my thing. So, this is purely a matter of personal taste. The mastering is excellent, in my opinion. You've found a great balance between the frequencies. The vocals and rap are clear and easy to understand, and the bass isn't too overpowering. I also really like the three-part structure. It adds variety and dynamism. For me, this is a fantastic club track that's guaranteed to get me dancing! I actually think it's a shame you kept the song so short. It's a really great song! Best regards from the Lower Rhine, Manuela

Hi Manuela,
vielen herzlichen Dank fuer dein detailliertes Feedback.
Chapeau!

Hi Manuela,
thank you very much for your detailed feedback. I feel deeply honored for your liking. I have produced it after the loss of my dog and friend, Gizmo. He died last November. I have reworked it several times and am rather pleased with the outcome, but honestly rather overwhelmed by its resonance here on Looperman.
You are a truly great artist with a magnificent voice. I just listened to your songs on various platforms and am totally flashed by your work. Chapeau!

I don't want to sound harsh. I understand it's very easy to offend someone these days, so I'll stick to the point. The acapella isn't on beat or in key. The lyrics themselves could have worked with a different concept. The problems are actually very obvious, and my ear can really feel them. If I listened to the music without the lyrics, I'd say the track was pretty good. But I want to be honest. Maybe try working on the music separately first and tailoring the lyrics to the finished track. I think you can do it. You can write music, after all.

Thanks for your reply, Alex. As was mentioned beforehand, it might be rather the unusual combination of Drum & Bass and classical elements that contribute to a notion of 'awkwardness' and/or the impression that the vocals don't fit in. After several revision, however, I am quite sure they overall do and am still pretty pleased if - once in a while - slight irritation persists, since it strikingly reflects the ambivalent stages of grief (denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance).

This track was interesting. Drum and Bass isn't my thing, but I have to say I really did enjoy this one, the frenetic pace, the peaceful message, the combination of so many disparate elements. Yet, when in combination, they all worked. My condolences on the loss of Gizmo. Thanks for sharing this tribute. I hope all is well.

Creating this track helped me to process my ambivalent feelings. Glad that it comes to light :).

By contrast, Drum&Bass songs usually go without vocals and elements of classical music like in this one. So, I'd rather consider 'rainbows' a mix of different genres, which aptly reflect the ambivalence/different stages of my emotions during the grieving process.

Gizmo was my mother's little dog. She died of cancer 7,5 years ago. Since then, I took care of him (or rather vice versa) until last November.
After my father's passing two years ago I composed one of my first tracks (Bad Dream) and uploaded it here.
I already feel that their souls sometimes get in touch with me, especially by means of music. It already helped me a lot to express my emotions and progress.

Thanks for your reply. Deeply appreciate it. Glad you liked the track.

Couldn't edit the previous message, hence this extra one -

Sorry for the loss of Gizmo.

The slight 'awkwardness' that is apparent in the tune makes more sense when you listen to it knowing that the pain of loss has been the reason for its creation.

Honestly, some of the bass progressions and timbres in this are, as the kids say - sick! (are they even using that word nowadays? lol) Thick, raspy and dirty...

And is that one of the Window's error sounds that can be heard in the background? Nice touch :)

Like someone else said, though - the string section (a great counter to the heavy bass, btw) probably needs to be tightened up a little in terms of quantisation so it sits a little better rhythmically.

Tune is quite reminiscent of (but heavier in terms of the punch it packs) to some of the stuff Phonat has done, in that it offers up randomness, is ever changing, keeps the listener on their toes, so to speak, and uses syncopation well.

Thanks for sharing :)

I think I understand what youre going for here. As has already been said, some parts are too loud and or distorted, and I noticed 2 places that need to be brought in time better, but all in all, it paints a picture of someone who is honing their craft. Noone improves by not putting in the work. Many others before you gave up before they ever crossed the finish line, so u should be proud of what youve accomplished thus far. If u ever need help or tips on mixing, u can always send me or my brother Pnnywze an email and we'll help u out. Honest review: I do like the music track here, just needs a little trimming and an extra thin or two on that last transition. There are a couple of issues, one being the track is way too loud in parts. Its causing distortion/clipping and mucking up the track. The female vocal needs the most help, it needs more trimming and time to get the vocals flowing together with the music in time. All in all, not bad! Just needs some adjustments and a little work.
