These feelings about wars where lives are lost and the future becomes less bright and promising, are universal and timeless. Every country has its Unknown Heroes who embody the world's excellence and deserve our love and deep respect. The poem was written many years ago, and it is wonderful to hear that it moved you. Thank you Micky, I am really happy you liked the poem. Here in Greece we use the same saying "Hope dies last" and I understand which hope you are talking about. We need to believe in better days and universal peace and harmony. So difficult matters....we talk about life and death, dignity, freedom, fear, despair, courage and glory. Whose poetry will remain silent?
We need to take care of each other, in our thoughts, our words and our acts.
We are all part of this instance, the present time that is to become past. Let's not waste it in hatred.

I only can respect a person who really lived war. War of course is not hidden in an old paper, but in your losses and the sorrow that comes along. It is so encouraging for me to see you, despite this tremendous experience, write beautiful, emotional and inspiring music.

Yes, I agree with you Kay, there's a complexity, mirroring us. It is not the happiest situation to write some rhymes on, but yes, it is for the brave ones. Those who cross the line and stand fearless against an enemy, to protect freedom and dignity. They are snow, they are blood...they are simple creatures of this earth, they are part of cosmos and they want to taste again the wine and the warm sweet bread, as we all do. They want to feel their dad's hand and enjoy family moments, as we all do. They are heroes simply because they are. It is my huge admiration for these people that lead me to writing this letter.
