Hi Mark, it's amazing what you can learn from the comments on your song alone. Only the reference of the instrument to therapy purposes for soldiers in the 2nd World War is new to me. You really have the feeling of following a live concert. The instruments, the changes are very varied and loosely implemented. I like that. The quality of the recording is excellent! Even when playing over the studio speakers in our studio, no disturbing background noise can be heard. Well done! Best regards Manuela

Greetings Manuela. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your perspective. On the Rhodes, the history explains that soothing and calming sound that's like no other. The live band sound from a DAW has been a quest of mine for a while. Also, I appreciate the feedback on how this came across on the studio monitors. Be safe

    Hey Mark,
did I hear the flash of the Twilight Zone theme? Man, this band plays so beautifully free and easy... who are all these people? ;) Hats off, bows, thanksgiving, praise, homage... take your pick!

Micky! Good ear! Yep, that sax run @ 0:41 is definitely in the Twilight Zone. Thank you so much for stopping by and giving this one a listen. Your compliments and fave is the indicator I'm headed in the right direction. What you mentioned in a previous post is true about the question "if the tracks we make will be enjoyable for others". You be safe and have a relaxing and peaceful weekend.

Hey Mark - wild ride - love that dirty rhodes sound at the start and it just gets down and ever more wonderfully funky unravelling with waves of lush jazz from there - some blistering lead breaks. Great listen : )

What's good Ian? I appreciate the stop, listen, compliments, and fave. This one represents the current condition of my musical headspace. Now, you mentioned that "Dirty Rhodes". I have literally agonized over achieving that growl. Thanks to Jynxz for putting me up on Keyscape now I'm good. I just found out that the Rhodes was designed to heal and was used for physical therapy treatment for WW2 soldiers. I love the sound of that instrument! Have a great weekend.

Hey Mark, I saw you comment on xstokes last track and I realized that I hadn't heard anything of yours in a while, glad to see there was a new one waiting for me! All the usual comments apply, really fun to listen to, jealous of your brass sampling (I'm working on mine, haven't gotten them there yet lol), mixed to perfection...

But this one was a really 'interesting' listen to me as well, particularly in the first minute or so. It reminded me of the early days of the jazz avant-garde, I heard a few things that struck me as choices Ornette Coleman might've made. Then as it proceeds and develops into a more traditional jazz piece, it's just chock full of tasty licks. Especially from the piano. D*mn! lol. When you're finished that album of yours I'd definitely like a copy please!

What's up Cam? I appreciate the stop thru. The points you mentioned are topics that could go on for hours. The Ornette Coleman mention is over the top. Interestingly enough Ornette is an accurate description of this weird place I'm in musically. Anyway, your support is super encouraging. Take it easy.

    band on the stage playing
this with huge smiles on their
faces having a great time making
music that moves and soothes like
    this track does.

Great track. Faved (should appear on your "GOAT" album for sure)..

Description : This song highlights a few different styles of jazz. First it starts with a kinda early 20s and 30s groove. Than it melds into a New Orleans style. Than into a sort of Maynard Ferguson big band jazz/rock groove, and finishing off with the 20s and 30s style again, all held together with some cool horns and bass. All n all, it's...Pretty Cool! Hope you like

Description : Do not freak out just because this is jazz! There's also blues, rock, funk and a little hip hop in it to break up the deep, chillout jazz sections - gets particularly rocking then funky at the end. Main bassline (the track's foundation) is recycled leftover slide resonator guitar parts detuned one octave to make a slide bass sound. Also features: piano, violin, hammered dulcimer, organ, ethereal pad guitar, bass guitar, jazz/blues/rock electric guitar and multiple programmed acoustic drumkits. This was difficult to make at times as I thought I needed more leads parts eg from sax or trumpet. But I'm happyish with the end result. I expect very little interest in this as it's both jazz and long jazz. But it's also an unusual type of genre-mixing jazz. So, leave your thoughts, good or bad, if you like...

Description : This track contains only free loops from Stayonbeat.com and several loops from Looperman artists (listed below). I "made a promise" that my next track will be use a lot of jazzy loops - well, i done with this track, for the great sadness of jazz lovers or experts i think - i fear they will never forgive me. :) While my ISP launches my internet out of the Earth system for a long time, i had to face the fact that i dont have too much downloaded jazz loops on my computer, so i think no wonder that this one is sounds like if i smoke some marihuana while making it. But hey, who cares, i like the result - it reminds me the (maybe only) really funny episode of "Breaking Bad", where Pinkman uses some heroin and flyes up with an idiotic smile on his face - that chapter is priceless. :D
I dont think this one needs a vocal, but ofcourse you can use it if you want, and as always, just write and i will give any support as i can. Any feedback welcomed too as always. Enjoy! UPDATE 2015.10.24.: improved audio quality - lower lows, higher highs. Now in 256kbps!

Description : Music by Antonio Carlos Jobim. This particular piano arrangement is from one of jazz sheet piano books I found on scribd. The electric piano is MrRay22 plugin which I played on Casio CDP220 digital piano. This is also a new piece that I learned today so it was quite tricky to get a proper touch at places and overall make the entire thing sound anywhere realistic. I tried many times and this was probably the best take. Also I am relatively new to playing latin piano music. I didn't manipulate any notes after recording - instead I added few virtual vintage amps. I choose jazz but it is a bossa nova latin style. Enjoy and feel free to comment and download.

Description : "Oh no - not jazz metal! You're not supposed to mix those genres together." Yes, but someone's got to and the musical gods have chosen me for the difficult task. 9 mins of instrumental jazz metal - damn I sure know how to write a hit song - US No 1 here I come. Anyway - there's some dark, swinging groovy jazz, with Rhodes and guitar as the main instruments, for a few minutes and then some haunting, thumping evil breaks loose. Look out for the powerful synth horn sound. And then it just gets heavier and heavier before returning to some nice chillgroove funky mystery jazz. Instruments played and/or programmed: electric guitar, bass guitar, electric cello, multiple programmed acoustic drumkits, filtered strings, Rhodes, big synth bass, evil synth horn and a few other assorted synths. I assume this has too much jazz for metallers and too much metal for jazzers. So, only for weirdoes like me who enjoy both. This will surely be too odd for most people but I like to think it's pretty interesting and powerful. Let me know how its weirdness worked for you...
