Ha, the story is funny: I have something like a hundred unfinished projects (that's not even exaggerating), and for most of those I have short clips of say 1:00-1:30, bits that are not terrible but miss something: some spark, some surprise, some twist, a vocal, etc.
I regularly download some to my phone to use as alarm or phone. This one was my kitchen timer :D
So when I was going through the acapellas (which I rarely do) for inspiration and heard Melvatron, I knew right away it was a straight fit. Well, straight... I rearranged and expanded the track, cut up Melvin (sorry), added a break, some instruments, the backing vocals of Charlotte, some fresh drums and hey presto, it was done ;)
Easy peasy lemon squeezy as we say in London!

I'm a fan of FF, so I like that comparison - although I think they're pretty different ;)

The Deee-lite sound is certainly an interesting idea, I will give that a go!
(The backgrond vocals by Charlotte are "cleaner", as you probably noticed. I generally try not to use too many effects)

I'm actually in the studio now, so already listening to it on headphones and mapping out drums, and thinking about guitars, and maybe some horns at the end? I can't go crazy, need to leave your voice be the main star.
Also I noticed it's somewhere between B and Bflat, but this is the kind of thing Ableton can fix for me. This is going to be so much fun :) yayyyyyyy!
