The D-n-B part is good. I like that. It's got a good classic beat, It's not overloaded with growly synths, (which is something I'm guilty of doing.)
The ambient beginning. I really dug that. The bass line in it is groovy as fuck. It's got a real Roger Waters appeal circa Saucer Full Of Secrets. I love the evolving synths, and the heavily reverbed background SFX. Honestly, I think you should go back and make a full track out just that.
Alternatively, it would be cool if you strung some of the Ambient half through the D-n-B half to kind of tie them together a little more. Maybe bring the evolving synths into it, or work in that bass line.
But, that's just my own opinion. Take it for what it's worth.
Hi Valvedriver, thanks for those insightful comments, there's some good ideas there. I wish I had more time to indulge this passion. By the way, the mysterious womens voice in the ambient section is someone praying in tongues (backwards). Have you ever read Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson? Pretty cool book and has a theme running through it of glossolalia so that was the inspiration. And thanks for listening to a bunch of other tracks, much appreciated. I checked out your website too, pretty cool man.
Good Cooking - (said because) using samples in like going to the fridge and cupboard and trying to figure out what you can do - sometimes a great result even with a recipe
Ahh I can hear the birds singing and whistling drifting off into a wormhole of the 5th dimension of reality like a revved up time machine. The Calibre is X and Y Calibur brother! And the lustrous strokes of dark matter ~ Let's see what this fucker can do!
Ha, nice bro thanks. I see u had a new track up but I'm down to one ear at the moment thanks to a surfing injury so not much fun trying to listen to or play music right now! Don't know what you've got until u lose it.
hey Zoots! haha, let’s see what this fucker can do! really cool structure to this, it’s delicious slipping from equipoise to a juxtaposed dimension that brings a whack counterpoint to yr daughter’s well-chosen ambient sounds.
have you seen the movie “a mighty wind” — this had me thinking of the band whose LPs didn’t have a hole in the middle. great stuff, man!
equipoise to juxtaposed dimension....u have a great turn of phrase man, don't know how you do it. yeah, blindwolf, love his voice and music. don't know if you listened to his 'one on one' exposition on distortion pedals - its great.
I tuned in at 0:01, love the guitar entrance at 0:20, very mysterious piece, interesting arrangement at 2:20 but that is drum and bass for you. I actually enjoyed this track and for that reason, I have to fav it. Good job!
Greetings, this sound is prety weird for my taste. But in a way i do dig it. Still the mixing proces need some gentle touches none the less. It sure sounded trippy enough for me. Not a fan of the dubstep part but still a ok track i suppose. Anyway keep on listening and creating. Have a good one though.
Thanks, I quite like challenging myself and listening to genres I wouldn't normally. I think that's a good exercise in listening critically and thinking about what works and what doesn't. Having said that I hadda google and read what dubstep supposed to sound like! Will try some on the ears now.cheers for listen and comment
Man, I really dig that Ambient/Evolving sound at the beginning.
Didn't expect such a drastic changeup 3/4 of the way through.
Your Daughter has Madd Synth skills.
Haha that was her with the wee accordion sounding bit at the change over. The ambient section started with that but this is a remix of her track, she chose the loops. She reckons hers is better.
Nice change up @ 2:15. Love the bass progression in the first half. Makes me think about spaceships docking at space stations. A bit of a Kraftwerk thing perhaps. Great job man.
Description : Chaos....Chaos ensues when life is unfolding in many different ways all around you. A demand here, a demand there, do this, do that, things going wonky or all happening at the same time. It's overwhelm but it's excitement, it's crazy but it's also very real. Welcome to the world of Kay-0s!
Please feel free to download from kayos2.bandcamp.com if you want to support our work. Many thanks, Oli&Kay
Description : About five years ago I made a dubstep track called Labyrinth Of The Absurd. This is part 2. Check out part 1 if you haven't yet. This is a Dark D-n-B. Or whatever.
I used Serum, Massive, Sylenth1. I used no presets, and no prefabricated loops. This is all original content from scratch. The only exception being the vocal samples.
Description : 170 BPM drum 'n' cell epic. That's drum 'n' bass with lots of my layered, lead cello playing. It's both banging and chilled out, with intricate basslines and soaring, melodic cello parts. Instruments: electric cello, piano, three synth basses, two synth pads. Drums are loads of drum loops supported by a few programmed acoustic drum kits. It's fast and powerful stuff but there are also two deep grooving half tempo sections. No guitar so anything that sounds like it might be is, unsurprisingly, cello. This was fairly hard to make and required a lot of hard work. It's still far from perfect, especially the rather abrupt, unimaginative ending (I couldn't think of anything better). Have a good listen and then consider leaving me some fascinating feedback. Not much drum 'n' cell about so I like to think this is worth checking out...

Description : So ive been listening to alot of dnb lately, and i decided to try my hand at it. It turned out to be alittle more chillout than I wanted it to be, but I still like how it turned out.
A ambient type of DnB track, one to make you think, Second attempt at the DnB genre for this year, again apologise to Drum and Bass artist, guessing again not your normal DnB.Used flute Rhodes Piano, and a few other bits to hopefully get the feeling for the piece I wanted, along with a few break beats/bass lines and FX etc...
Please comment/review and the favour will be returned...
Description : Hey guys,

Description : I have two tracks using this acapella. This is the first. I thought I could do a better job with it, so I produced a second (and I think better) track afterwards which I'll probably upload at some point. Would still appreciate any feedback on this though.
Thanks for ArthurBeatss for the acapella.
Thanks also to antoniostratiatello. I used a small section of one their loops.
