Off My Mind Ft. Ryan Birnie - Fresco
11th Jan 2009 02:46 - 17 years ago
Description : This is a pretty sweet song featuring my friend Ryan. He plays the guitar on this track, and sings as well. I'm also singing on this track (No Electronic Fx lol). I created the drums and I played the piano parts. You may want to listen to this song the whole way through, because halfway throughout the song it changes up dramatically. Hope you guys enjoy this one. Let me know how this song can be improved.

Description : A warm, soulful Afrobeat instrumental , built with smooth melodies, soulful guitar, warm piano chords, and crisp shakers. The groove is catchy, laid back, and vocal-friendly, leaving plenty of room for an artist to create memorable melodies, flows, and hooks. Designed for artists looking for a versatile record with strong replay value, perfect for love songs, storytelling, lifestyle records, intimate vibes, and melodic Afrobeat performances.

Description : Draft from my old defunct laptop. Lost some plugins and not sure I'll come back to it. The wee vocal sections were never added to and the mix probably needed more work too. But thought I'd post it for a bit anyway, if people like it maybe try to finish it. Pseudoble played some synth. Music made by humans.

I liked your song. The guitar is very nice and clear as it gets.
I have made some rock tunes...and heavy metal being my next to last tune....as I just now uploaded a Latin tune.
I use Pro Tool with Mbox 2 Pro in making all my tunes and plug in direct usually so I don't get any bleed thru.
I record all rhythm guitar parts twice. One in the left channel and one in the right channel.
This helps give a bigger sound.
Basically layering parts is how you get that big sound like my tunes have. Plus using Compression and EQ and Reverb tastefully and or Delay give nice effects. Plus there are many other tools that you probably already know about.
Your vocals sound nice, so I'd say your not too far off from making a great production. All your tunes need to be Mastered too by a professional so they are 'radio ready'.
Mastering 1 song doesn't cost that much...maybe $20. I do some myself, but it is better to have another pair of professional ears to listen to your tunes.
Take a listen to a couple of mine and see what you think if you have time.
Good job overall,
Randy
you need to find a producer for it, honestly, this has a lot of potential ...
and you have a lot of potential as a singer ... that's great!!
peace, rei
