Description : Contains drum and bass samples from 2012s Dredd. When making this track, I was trying to acheive the dirty, lo fi sound I love so much. The track sounds fine to my ears, but I desperately need some feedback to be sure . . . // My SoundClound page - https://soundcloud.com/coolpictures // My YouTube channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChOG1OiPauGBV7p_V7bF4dA/videos

This is really a sweet track! Definitely my sort of trip hop, with an industrial and cinematic side note to it. Has a good drive to it, and some very interesting instruments chosen. Since the other commenter brought up the drums... I must wonder how they were taken from the film for use. Was the film ripped to audio somehow, and if so was it ripped from DVD to WAV? If it was ripped from online or a poor quality copy, or ripped to mp3, then this may be part of what the other commenter was hearing. Sometimes we do the best we can do, of course, but DVD directly to WAV is definitely a great way of getting the full power of a film soundtrack. I know well the hazards of trying to filter background sounds and the like from video rips, but I think overall you have done well, especially for this style of track. It's a very creative and enjoyable effort, and I applaud you for it! Keep doing your thing! Fave!

Hey, man! Im a big fan of trip-hop genre, and I often try to reproduce that dark, dirty sound in my music, with varying success though. For this track, I recorded the audio directly from my sound card with Audacity. Thats the way I usually record the sounds I like, but Im not really sure if it does any harm to the audio, since my sound card is not a high-end one. The initial audio was 48 kHz/24 bits, 5,000 or something kbps; I guess, thats quite a decent quality. By background noise I mean the natural environmental sounds in the movie. In this particular case, there was this mechanical squeak you can hear in the background; my compressor would catch it and make it louder whatever the settings are. Besides, the drums had way too much low end, that constant low-frequency humming. It sounded cool in the movie, but was inappropriate for the track, so I filtered it out. I actually tried to reinforce the drums with some kick and snare samples, but in the end everything sounded just too clean. So I decided to live with it, mixed the other elements in, and waited for some feedback from my listeners. Anyway, Im glad you liked the track, and I really appreciate your comment. New tracks are coming soon, so dont miss. :)

Took some advice from a Youtube video. USED: a limiter, filter, parametric EQ, & others. Para EQ in FL was [once] difficult to understand how to effectively apply.
