Description : nice jazzy music, some jazz bass and drums loops used. I just created some keyboard sounds on the top of that.

Thank you Ocean White so much for such a nice comment on this track! I wish I could create more music like this... But still everything is possible anyway:)
Really glad you enjoyed this song. Take care, Alex
Hi again. You said in another reply that you’re a classically trained musician. And I can hear that in your playing. I always sort of assume that classically trained piano/ keyboard players play at least some jazz as part of their learning.
I’m a poor to average keyboard player (stringed instruments are my thing and what I feel most comfortable and natural playing) so definitely can’t do the keys work that you do. I program a lot of my synth stuff but couldn’t program the timing and touch and improvisational stuff that you’re doing just in this track.
I’d probably really screw up programming the last piano section that is a strange mix of melodic and atonal.
“I will let you know when I will record something on changes”
This track is pretty damn good without any changes. I guess I would have preferred it to be a bit longer and less rushed but I like longer form music in which I get to hear sections for longer. If a riff or part is good, I usually like to hear it at least a few times.
Hi,
I am aspiring jazz-keyboard player so far and I will try to be able to play also some songs (standards). That's what I mean by playing 'on changes': playing lines along the song structure. Classical training is fine but jazz kind of improvising require an another training and takes some time...
Anyway I am happy that the track sounds quite good and jazzy. Good point with the outro part - it is indeed too 'atonal'. I'll try to keep the music more condentrated and 'corresponding' in the future.
I agree that it could be difficult to program and emulate some improv in the song, but it is possible to some degree, I think. I do not normally use programming for this, but sometimes I quantize the timing some notes when I am not happy with the result. That's because I am working only on plugins at the moment. They do not have a proper response as the real instrument does.
Many thanks for your time and comments - it's always appreciated!
Greetings,
A.
I'm not always in the mood for Jazz. I like it. But, I just have to be in the right mood for it. However, you toss in the xylophoes, and I'm all ears. There's something to be said about them. You used them well here. I don't really have any suggestions for this. Like I said, I'm not a huge jazz fan. I wouldn't know where to begin for suggestions. I just thought I'd show my support by letting you know that I really dig this one.
Thanks for sharing!
Glad you liked this eventhough you not a jazz fun:)
Yes the sound I've used is close somehow to xylo as you say, but it is in fact only a rhodes piano (three different rhodes layers and acoustic piano).
Many thanks for listening and your kind words!
Greetings,
A.
This is some pretty raw acoustic sounding jazz, even though you're using some loops.
Bass gets very funky at times and plays some very cool lines.
Great ride cymbal groove at 0:12.
0:20 switch to a tight hat-based groove.
Very jazzy keyboard work to go with the bass and drums. I think you're playing a couple of different keyboard sounds.
1:08 piano stab chords I really like.
1:37 swing that ride cymbal again! Good change there though maybe that ride is just too short again.
But this is a pretty direct, short piece with lots of short sections and changes.
1:50 to the end piano (quite discordant as well as melodic) is well done. Quite a mix of melodic and atonal though, which isn't always easy to get right.
Well done and I don't really have any production criticisms.
I'm not actually a 'jazz musician',
but trying somehow to play a kind of improv on rhodes piano and the acoustic background acoustic piano as far as I can.
The loopes I used really fascinated me. I will let you know when I will record something on changes and so but that is something only to discover for me so far.
I really like this one promenade...its really well done all round so I certainly have no suggestions...just keep doing it....Its the kind of tune where I would just like to sit at a table at the back of the club & listen to you play some more......bravo....Ed
Love the stand up bass, sounds great. Nice mix of instruments, cool keys, piano. My first track of the day, great way to get it started. Liked how you finished with the piano with some great jazzy notes in there!
Liking the jazzy groove you have going on here, always enjoy tracks that have piano in them, hence why I prob use a lot in my trance tracks, allows for a vibe and feelings to come out of the track using piano, only thing I would suggest is turning down slightly the hi hat, seems to slightly over power at times, minor thing really, overall really enjoyable listen...Fav...Peace n Respect...Mosaic...
Hi Mosaic,
Many thanks for for taking a listen and your nice comment. And I agree: hihat seems to be a bit too loud in one of the drum loops.
Greetings,
A.
Really nice after the min mark. Sounds like the electric piano clips a tad too or is a lil bit distorted. The one electric piano that makes sort of a "dun!" type of sound gets a bit irritating sometimes. At least at first. Definitely a track that could grow on you though, great work bro. Adding a fav as well, peace
very cool mix of different sounds on this track. bass on the track is very funky and jazzy. I like all the different pauses that you have on the track they flow very well together. I know some times it can be hard to get a pause to flow right on a track. very good work on this song.
I always feel like my brain is boiling when listening to jazz-type of music. It tries very hard to find melody patterns that doesn't exist...or do exist but just for the one moment.
This is cool! Especially the piano going crazy in the outro. Loved it!
Thanks a lot SeriouslyJoking!
So it's a kind of a jazzy music not 'jazz' really:)
I agree: - it ends up far away from the all what it suppose to be at the beginning and in the midde:)
Nice day:)

Inspired by a track of Pseudoble. I was noodling along to his track "I wish I didn't know" (which is awesome) and had the words "Snow in Athens" in my head. This with the smooth jazz/fusion atmosphere led me to this track with a sort of Steely Dan feel.
Description : This track is built around the repetitive lead guitar line which I have previously incorporated as an intro for the rocker track "Sweetheart Runner" by LM user TinyFinger whom I have helped in arranging, mixing and producing his song. This extended session was a good oportunity to test some new equipment....Thanks to Tiny for not being mad about it...:)^^
Description : Psychedelic blues hip hop with lead banjo and acoustic resonator slide guitar. Acoustic drum kits, fat basslines, soaring filtered strings, some strong Eastern elements (from guitar and strings), some dub and funk from the bass and drums and a bit of rocking electric guitar. Very unusual piece of music and a trip like no other I've heard. Some of it is like a dark, deep Southern delta blues track over a hip hop and dub backing. All played and programmed by me, no loops used.
After a quite turbulent long travel we’ve reached a totally unknown planet which is mostly covered with clouds. As we pass over it we can see parts of rivers through the clouds that come out of the dark rocky surface in some places. So the whole scene is alternating textures of white, dark gray and silver flashes. Unfortunately there’s no chance to land anywhere so we just pass, wonder and travel on …

Description : Messing around with my midi keyboard (I am no pianist as you will hear). Just a bunch ideas put together with guitar and keys. Don't miss the end :-) it shows the obvious lack of inspiration to find a decent ending of the so called musician! This track is work in progress all ideas are welcome!
Really glad you enjoyed this song. Take care, Alex
