Description : Description : a few final touches and some mastering left on this one but almost there. trying to convey something of the inner and outer spirit of a train going down the tracks. used some paul-stretched samples for effects. early version of track may be viewed with a nice photo of railroad tracks here: http://audiosparksforart.com/project/endless-journey-train-tracks/

Very cool track. Quite different from the others on the loop. It has a big jazz fusion feel. I've been to a few Jazz festivals and I could picture jazz fusion players on stage banging out these sounds.

Very atmospheric. Great work.

i seriously appreciate your appreciation Renz. I could visualize the Eastman Jazz Band playing this back in the day when I was a student there. At that time, though, I was deep into classical oboe! look forward to checking out your stuff. regards - Dan

hey behnam - everything is good. i'm really glad you had a chance to listen to this. It is always great to hear from you and have your comment. It is true what you say about dissonance and also i would say "asymmetry" in the music. it is not always "comfortable". thanks for remembering about the bio. it will be helpful for the site. talk to you soon. - Dan

I really dig the progression on this like others. It does sound like it needs some tweaking though, specifically at the 2:24 mark when the frantic guitar comes in. Sounds a bit muddy, but it doesn't cause too much friction between hearing the other instruments. Does sound something like a train, maybe's there's multiple doors to heaven(or some place else) and this is one of the train roads there. Idk if that would be possible, but maybe. Very cinematic. Great work here midisparks and designedimpression. (Designed seems to have a habit of deleting his tracks frequently too, you know why?) Anyways, keep up the producing. peace

thanks a lot Gramo. you are right about the muddiness. the track needs one more thorough EQ scrubbing. i sure hope there are multiple tracks to heaven! take care. look forward to listening to more of your work. Dan

This is a cool track, MS. It has somewhat of a 70's fusion vibe to it. I even hear a bit of King Crimson, too and I'm a fan of both. I LIKE IT!

Cheers,
Scott

hey Scotts. somehow I thought there was a kind of fusion element in it. Just the fact of some classical elements, a bit of big band in one section, etc. I really am happy you enjoyed it. thanks for stopping by! Dan

You've really managed to capture the vibe of a train going down the tracks and then some. This is vastly improved on the last version of this i listened to. I dig the drums and the piano parts and i like the way it goes a bit grungy and mental in the secon half of the track. It's in a very weird key but it works for the effect you were trying to achieve.
Very original and fun to listen to. Sounds like you're getting the hang of FL now.

i was really hoping you would come back Free. after all, man, it's an Endless Journey! LOL. yea - Dave provided the drums and piano for the "mental" section (I like that) I guess I am keeping my head above water with FL - yea. mastering is where I should really take a frickin' course or something, but I see the light now and then. thanks very much for your positive review and encouragement. I look forward to reviewing more of your tracks. later. Dan

Fun to listen to, and extremely effective artistically! Love the sampling you did, and FL is just awesome for that in my opinion. I used to gravitate toward train tracks when younger, and I can definitely feel that magnetism in this track. The melodies have a very free feel that I can appreciate, like organized chaos or something like that. I like the noise sound around 3:00, very raw sounding and expressive for percussion. I'm curious about your sampling techniques in FL, do you use raw one shots, or do you edit them to have a loop point? Or both for that matter. Any way, a very enjoyable trip here! Fav'd!

i am happy you were feeling this one, Pat! Dave paul-stretched the brass (big band) section. I just shortened or lengthened the entire paul-stretch clip directly in the track to get what I was after. thanks again for stopping by. really appreciate it. Dan

Awesome track midisparks! I really liked how the track progressed. It kind of has a haunting vibe to it. Loved the piano and the guitar. The mix sounds good too. This one's a Fav. Nice work.

thanks a lot shatner. really glad you liked it. kind of used the track to learn a few things about sampling in FL Studio. DesignedImpression gave me the idea for a "fantasy" section which is based on some paul-stretches of parts of the track. thanks again.

I like this, this is original, never heard anything like this, its artistic...I do get a feeling of move-ment, and I can hear the different landscapes whizz by, I get a clear visual - Like a mini-acid trip on rails with out the acid, ha ha. I don't do acid by the way. Just saying...

thanks EMUZX. i'm honestly happy if i managed to achieve something of that sense of the train moving along. and yea - it is also about the scenery changing. i'm stoked you picked up on it and enjoyed it. thanks very much.

Description : Ok...here it is! Another colab with maestro Tumbleweed! Ed provided the unfinished, basic track...I composed and recorded the long intro using different synths and then added piano (well to the fore) and some brass arrangements along the rest of the track (no violin this time...hehe) and then did the final mixing to wrap it up as it is presented now. I hope you will enjoy it and we both appreciate your listening time and your valuable comments:) Otherwise all thanks to Ed!

Description : Dark, slow, ambient, cinematic jazz with funereal piano turning into something much funkier, psychedelic and beautiful in the second half. Out of the darkness and into the light, you could say. Instruments: electric guitar + bass, lots of synth sounds, including a horn, double bass, another big legato bass, pizzicato strings, two types of piano, a heavily delayed slide guitar instrument, zither, synth arp, one brushy drum loop, kettle drum rolls and 4 programmed acoustic drum kits. This is quite a special track for me and is only the second I've put in the cinematic genre. The more you listen, the more it changes (it even has key changes) and the last three minutes are really quite far out and should probably be longer. Best track I've made for a few months. Interesting thoughts and reflections appreciated. Free sex for the best reviews...

Description : 4!_(07@2nd) harmonic protocol reboot sequence

This track is an elaboration of dgalantic’s track “Starting Over 0172257.” It is almost entirely comprised of loops by other artists on looperman. The newsreel in the intro section is from public domain footage of the Vietnam War. Prince Fatty chimes later in with some words of wisdom. The track was sequenced with Mixtikl and edited in Audacity.

Loops from the following artists are included:
1. ThatJeffCarter’s guitar “feedback 197765”
2. three of Nightingale’s harmonica trills: “angels 0088377, inner light 0088361 and never and never 0088366”
3. Heavily fx’ed vocal excerpts from Eshar’s “7th Dimension 0002644”
4. Dcmack’s rhythm loops “2 bass drums 1- 0085449, 2- 0085446, and 4- 0085448.”
5. Steelyvibe’s choral wash “luno frunezo 0005719”
6. Nightingale’s guitar loop “diving deep 0043488”
7. Rasputin1963’s chorals “ soul ladies gospel riff 0088641 and reggae soul girls choir 0087693”

Description : So a new track for everyone. Im pretty impressed by this one, and would even place it higher than one of my best tracks, Angel And A Demon. However, I'm trying to decide whether or not I should put vocals to it. I have some in mjnd, but idk if itd be better to leave as is and keep it instrumental or not. Take a listen and let me know! Also, let me know if anything is too loud, still working on my mastering.
