Description : This is a song I am working on, that I just sent to my lady singer to lay down some harmonies and some hooks for. What I am looking for is some specific feedback that I can process to make the track better, so that when I get her vocals back I have the track cleaned up and finalized and I can focus on integrating her vocals for the final version.

Description : Something i did when i was about 15, and when i still made beats. This particular track is actually the reason i decided to get into composing at all. I had a good run with the beats and hip-hop scene, but i always had a leaning more towards composing and this, i think, is the catalyst for that revelation. This beat is 9 years old, and gives you a sense of what it was like to be a young, passionate, musically driven teen. Thank you.

(a little cheesy, but you actually made the whole idea work for me -- MADE me pay attention in a lighthearted way.)
Ok.. the mix.. (THIS IS JUST MY OPINION, AND I AM A METAL HEAD.)
Watch the bass, it can suck your mids...
so.. it's best to have a clean mix, that floats around the -6 to -3 db range.. and yeah i mean peak... that way, if you choose to master it, you give the person mastering the ability to play with the mix.
When you vocals, you really have to worry about the midrange... soo I would encourage you, when you do the vocal mix, you have a more or less flatter EQ....
soo keep in mind that you have the midrange and lower highrange to worry about with a vocalist.

Mid is boxy
Highs are harsh"
