Description : I have tried to go back to a jazz standard feel on this track, so no big horn sections just drums, bass, guitar and percussion as a rhythm section, sax plays the head, with the flute breaking the lead up from the sax to add another melody flavour. All instruments by Slap, drum by sonic foundry.... All comments welcome Cheer Slap...

Hi there Slap.
Been awhile since I have listened to any of your songs as I work a lot of extra hours.
Very nice job on the Sax and Flute. I would like to buy your album when you get done....so let me know.
Your playing is always very good and concise and clear in the mix.
Thanks for uploading,
The last song I uploaded was a slow blues slide guitar type if your interested in the key of open 'C' tuning.
Randy
I just shut my eyes and drifted away.
Your music is fantastic, but I think this is a special track.
Its one of those ones that if I had any hair it would standing up on the back of my neck, just a great buzz from it.
Excellent!
Regards
Krook
The sax is my favorite instrument. The piano's an enormously close second. You put the sex in sexiness with this one, bruh. I had to put it in my favorites. It's so soothing, so mellow, soooo Slap Johnson. Flawless. I'm feeling it in my bones. Thanks for another great piece!!
I love how you used different drumlines to segue the melody changes in this. I got a sense of water flowing in a river listening to this. The drums were like rocks and your sax and flute were the water that moved around them without ever moving apart from them.
Amazing flute, working on me like a snake charmer, and right after when the sax restart, I just love the drums, right there... They're really catching my attention.
Brilliant piece as usual.
Cheers S.
With a little bit more muscle coming from the guitar being present. Easy to listen to and full of wonderfully musical hooks. I am amazingly pleased and rewarded to be able to consider you a peer Steve. You and your family and music are truly an inspiration. Here's to more great music! Peace and love, Six
Hi Six, positive words bro! Dave Kos is a very good player, I only have one of his albums, and it's really great. Are you suggesting I re-mix the track with the guitar up a bit? You might have a point! Let me know... Cheers Slap... Ho Ho Ho...
Like the last day a flower arrangement has in it's short aesthetic life the ripples of this piece spread out from it's guitar line,an almost imperceptible change from reality to dream as the saxophone and flute pass by.......a composition of music is a very ephemeral thing it has no substance on one level but on another it's able to materialise in the most astounding ways........I think a lot of your music is like this it's made the transition within many listeners to exist permanently and not wither......cheers Dave :)
Bloody hell Dave!!! You always get your teeth in to a song. I am humbled by your words and your wisdom. I'm going to send you a song if that's ok.
I feel I need your bass doing it's thing...
nice easy listening piece ...
the flute is the highlight ... I guess a female voice would be a good addition to compliment the smooth sax ...
over all: slap high quality!!!
(only the ending, hmmm ... comes a little surprising)
Hi Rea, I know what you mean about the ending! But I ran out of ideas so thet was that, got you thinking hmmmm though. I'm hoping to get Fiona singing on some of my new tracks, so watch this space...
Your sax can do no wrong mate...the sound of it always hits the right spot...drum pattern is nice and the guitar sounds cool too...the whole track is just relaxing...definitely one for a summer's evening (if one existed in the UK)..
Slap this is fantastic, I´m glad that you´ve taken time to do your own thing. So many collabs. Again amazing sax and flute played with the your usual blend of feeling and passion. Excellent. All the best Mik

Description : Every instrument is performed and recorder live. Piano, double bass, drums.
Instruments Used:
-"WELTMEISTER" upright piano (MADE IN GERMANY in 1938)
-"KAY" upright bass (MADE IN GERMANY somwhere in 1950th)
-TAMA Imperial Star + Pearl OMAR HAKIM snare + Various Ziljian cymbals.
I just put together some old ideas to see if it will work. Some vocals and brass, or guitars is clearly needed. Let me know what you think about it. Tnx
Description : Do not freak out just because this is jazz! There's also blues, rock, funk and a little hip hop in it to break up the deep, chillout jazz sections - gets particularly rocking then funky at the end. Main bassline (the track's foundation) is recycled leftover slide resonator guitar parts detuned one octave to make a slide bass sound. Also features: piano, violin, hammered dulcimer, organ, ethereal pad guitar, bass guitar, jazz/blues/rock electric guitar and multiple programmed acoustic drumkits. This was difficult to make at times as I thought I needed more leads parts eg from sax or trumpet. But I'm happyish with the end result. I expect very little interest in this as it's both jazz and long jazz. But it's also an unusual type of genre-mixing jazz. So, leave your thoughts, good or bad, if you like...
Description : I think it's a late evening song to accompany you for a single drink.
Jazzy in most of the aspects. It is made single handedly so please consider it an experimentation for the thrill of making music.
Hope you will like it.
Description : This track made me just stop working on it and listen to it for enjoyment.
Smooth Mellow funky Jazz. Uses: 0111003-djrumplestiltskin-swung-funk-drum-beat, 0087009-mrroads442-guitar-line, 0072485-michiel555-mellow-funk, 0058934-ferryterry-90-bpm-soprano-sax. Is this Funk or Jazz?
Description : This track contains only free loops from Stayonbeat.com and several loops from Looperman artists (listed below). I "made a promise" that my next track will be use a lot of jazzy loops - well, i done with this track, for the great sadness of jazz lovers or experts i think - i fear they will never forgive me. :) While my ISP launches my internet out of the Earth system for a long time, i had to face the fact that i dont have too much downloaded jazz loops on my computer, so i think no wonder that this one is sounds like if i smoke some marihuana while making it. But hey, who cares, i like the result - it reminds me the (maybe only) really funny episode of "Breaking Bad", where Pinkman uses some heroin and flyes up with an idiotic smile on his face - that chapter is priceless. :D
I dont think this one needs a vocal, but ofcourse you can use it if you want, and as always, just write and i will give any support as i can. Any feedback welcomed too as always. Enjoy! UPDATE 2015.10.24.: improved audio quality - lower lows, higher highs. Now in 256kbps!

Description : Something a bit different from us. I (Bobo) played guitar, synth, midi bass and percs to this piano loop by LM's most excellent Rasputin. Wataya, stoned as usual, thought he heard Barbara Streisand singing. This is the result.
Description : I created a hip hop groove in Logic and decided to duel some Saxophones. I am playing the Baritone sax on the left pan and the Tenor Sax on the right pan.
I added some bells like a boxing match bell to give it a fight drama feel. The hip hop track itself is dope to me. The duel is cool too. Who won?
Enjoy your playing.
