Description : Here's a song i've been dwelling on. Because it's a bit cheesy.... I used the acapella by 3v3sound to start with. Then slowly put together a happy/ upbeat/ feel good track. No mastering. Please comment. But more importantly criticize, please do. My only ever goal is to improve my work. So be as harsh as you like to prove your point. I can handle it =).
"your bass is weak," is much more valuable to me than "nice job man".
but! "your bass is weak, Try this..." is helpful too =)

Who can say if it's weird because it's made from samples? That's not for me to judge. I think the arrangement is important, and if you are comfortable building from samples, then why not do it? The key of the song isn't that mysterious, by the way. It's easy to tell that something is off when the vocals play during the piano. It just sounds like the two weren't made to be together. Why not try a different piano or different vocals? Also, thanks for your comments about my music. I appreciate that too.
You misunderstand me. I meant that this song was made starting with nothing but the acapella, and progressed from that. I had a go at searching for another acapella that suits, but no luck. I shall take this as a hit and miss, but I understand what you mean.. I am so oblivious to the clashing of keys in this song..
Your comments are an eye opener.. I really need to study up on my music theory =\ and knowledge of keys. Thanks for listening. I appreciate your advice and i'll keep an eye out for your next upload.
Hmmmmmmm....I felt like I was listening to a Mashup rather than a proper song....at times it sounds pop, then cinematic, then possibly a hint of R&B. You might want to rethink where you are trying to go with the tune, and maybe you will be able to strip away the parts that are not in synch with your intention. So, basically I suppose what I'm saying is I don't hear any cohesion. Also, the vocals are not in the same key as the instrumental.
I see what you mean. It's not a very good structure for a proper song is it.. To be entirely honest, I did not have any true intentions for this track... I was just experimenting i guess.. And I can see why it sounds like a mashup (it is a mashup). If i take away the current vocal the track sounds retarded. If i leave it in the different keys clash. Cohesion, I'll remember this. As for keys, I most definitely need to do some homework and ear training.
I shall not stop at this though. May I ask some of the things you consider, in terms of structure, when writing a song?
I like the music a lot, but the vocals don't go well with it. There are two different musical keys going on, and they clash. You might want to consider different vocals to match the song. Good luck
Thanks, I appreciate your opinion. I don't know a lot about keys, but mayb i should get familiar with them. you're good. i just listened to a handful of your tunes. I like the arrangement & progressiveness of them a lot, not to mention the mix is flawless... Is it weird that i made this track from that sample tho?

Inspired by a track of Pseudoble. I was noodling along to his track "I wish I didn't know" (which is awesome) and had the words "Snow in Athens" in my head. This with the smooth jazz/fusion atmosphere led me to this track with a sort of Steely Dan feel.
Description : This track is built around the repetitive lead guitar line which I have previously incorporated as an intro for the rocker track "Sweetheart Runner" by LM user TinyFinger whom I have helped in arranging, mixing and producing his song. This extended session was a good oportunity to test some new equipment....Thanks to Tiny for not being mad about it...:)^^
Description : Psychedelic blues hip hop with lead banjo and acoustic resonator slide guitar. Acoustic drum kits, fat basslines, soaring filtered strings, some strong Eastern elements (from guitar and strings), some dub and funk from the bass and drums and a bit of rocking electric guitar. Very unusual piece of music and a trip like no other I've heard. Some of it is like a dark, deep Southern delta blues track over a hip hop and dub backing. All played and programmed by me, no loops used.
After a quite turbulent long travel we’ve reached a totally unknown planet which is mostly covered with clouds. As we pass over it we can see parts of rivers through the clouds that come out of the dark rocky surface in some places. So the whole scene is alternating textures of white, dark gray and silver flashes. Unfortunately there’s no chance to land anywhere so we just pass, wonder and travel on …
