This is really great. The scales are all over the shop, the music is cool sounding, the arrangement is beautifully constructed and that drumming is superb. This sounds like a really complicated piece to put together. It must have taken you a while to do this.
Perhaps you should have a go at flower arranging yourself.

    Hi Dave

As one who loves drums and percussion I have to tell you this is a magic sound on the kit. Great live feel to it and anything resembling a real musician on a real kit works for me. This is dynamite. That tympani thing is very clever too - adds so much. OK enough on the drums. Super bass lines - we should get a band together! Sax is superb, the piano is lovely and the organ just perfect. It's all just very well synthesised and works at every level. This is very classy stuff and a joy to listen to. Thank you.

Hey Richie thanks man!...actually I was sort of taking a leaf out of your book.I have EZDrummer/SuperiorDrummer which I used here..definitely worth getting back into them to get that 'real' drum sound..I'd been using Stylus RMX a lot which is great but doesn't have that real stick on skin sound (not that any drums have skins on them now! lol).....Amazingly we are in the same country! lol..so anything is possible...God can you imagine how cool it would be if many of Looperman's muso's lived in the same city..damn we could get one hot unit together!...always a pleasure to have you stop by mate!..cheers from Zap,Slap and Dave (sounds like that terrible 70's band!lol) :)

NOw...this is jazz I can getinto in a big way...I`ve gone to a few jazz clubs in the past & couldn`t quite get into the head-nodding going on around me as it was the traditional kind of stuff that has always sounded to me like everybody was playing a different tune (I`m thick that way)...This is THE music...and big talent comes with every player in the band....Slap is deadly...and love the work on that fretless (did Iget that right) Dave....keys fill the bill exactly right...man this is top notch stuff guys...I`m in awe...Do some more...I`ll be downloading for more listens (thanks).......Ed

Hey Ed thanks man!....I felt that way about Trad Jazz that my dad used to play (though I like it now,but wouldn't try and play it,not my scene)...yep that's my fretless,I always wanted the Jaco sound(what bass player didn't),but you can only get that sound with an epoxy covered fingerboard and since I've had this bass which has a natural ebony board untreated I much prefer it's sound, more woody and a lower growl....plus why emulate when you can go your own way..oh dear I've started to gear talk..I'm hopeless,I could go on and on and bore everyone to sleep...thanks again mate! cheers Zap,Slap and Dave :)

Dave, you always do it up right. The bass on this one is a lesson for all of us who own a bass, but never really learned how to play it the right way. I think a lot of people forget just how important that bass line is to everything else in a song. Zappo again illustrates his huge talents and Slap, well we all know how great he is.

This is the melding of three huge talents and the resulting product is perfect. I needed a little pick me up this morning and this one did the trick. I think I'll head off to the pool now for a cold beverage and a dip in the deep end :) Maybe Skanky Ann will be there in her bikini, hahaha.

Hope all is well. Downloaded to enjoy over and over. Thanks for that.

This feels really live and surprisingly that works really really well! A bit of everything in this one!

I like that bass moving around and I absolutely loved that snare.

At one moment when the keys came in I was thinking this is going into Hip-Hop (due to the chord progression) but it never crossed the boarder.

Kind of retro sounding but in a very good way.

Very cool track guys! First of is the walking of that Fender Jazz bass, nice work Dave, it really is the bass(base) to all tracks. The drums were great and I loved that roll on the kettle drum or very low bass drum, that was a nice addition. Gotta love Zappo's zen, it really shines through here! ;) Slap makes it all come together with that sax of his, such a nice groove.

This brightened up my rainy day here, excellent all around, great track guys! Skanky Ann, my friend dated a Betty Akinhole, wonder if she is any relation, hehe.

Description : This song highlights a few different styles of jazz. First it starts with a kinda early 20s and 30s groove. Than it melds into a New Orleans style. Than into a sort of Maynard Ferguson big band jazz/rock groove, and finishing off with the 20s and 30s style again, all held together with some cool horns and bass. All n all, it's...Pretty Cool! Description : Do not freak out just because this is jazz! There's also blues, rock, funk and a little hip hop in it to break up the deep, chillout jazz sections - gets particularly rocking then funky at the end. Main bassline (the track's foundation) is recycled leftover slide resonator guitar parts detuned one octave to make a slide bass sound. Also features: piano, violin, hammered dulcimer, organ, ethereal pad guitar, bass guitar, jazz/blues/rock electric guitar and multiple programmed acoustic drumkits. This was difficult to make at times as I thought I needed more leads parts eg from sax or trumpet. But I'm happyish with the end result. I expect very little interest in this as it's both jazz and long jazz. But it's also an unusual type of genre-mixing jazz. So, leave your thoughts, good or bad, if you like...

Description : Music by Antonio Carlos Jobim. This particular piano arrangement is from one of jazz sheet piano books I found on scribd. The electric piano is MrRay22 plugin which I played on Casio CDP220 digital piano. This is also a new piece that I learned today so it was quite tricky to get a proper touch at places and overall make the entire thing sound anywhere realistic. I tried many times and this was probably the best take. Also I am relatively new to playing latin piano music. I didn't manipulate any notes after recording - instead I added few virtual vintage amps. I choose jazz but it is a bossa nova latin style. Enjoy and feel free to comment and download.

Description : "Oh no - not jazz metal! You're not supposed to mix those genres together." Yes, but someone's got to and the musical gods have chosen me for the difficult task. 9 mins of instrumental jazz metal - damn I sure know how to write a hit song - US No 1 here I come. Anyway - there's some dark, swinging groovy jazz, with Rhodes and guitar as the main instruments, for a few minutes and then some haunting, thumping evil breaks loose. Look out for the powerful synth horn sound. And then it just gets heavier and heavier before returning to some nice chillgroove funky mystery jazz. Instruments played and/or programmed: electric guitar, bass guitar, electric cello, multiple programmed acoustic drumkits, filtered strings, Rhodes, big synth bass, evil synth horn and a few other assorted synths. I assume this has too much jazz for metallers and too much metal for jazzers. So, only for weirdoes like me who enjoy both. This will surely be too odd for most people but I like to think it's pretty interesting and powerful. Let me know how its weirdness worked for you...
