This is really great. The scales are all over the shop, the music is cool sounding, the arrangement is beautifully constructed and that drumming is superb. This sounds like a really complicated piece to put together. It must have taken you a while to do this.
Perhaps you should have a go at flower arranging yourself.
FR
Yeah! ha! I knew it, you 'are' a cool bass player I could tell before I heard you play. Great work, lets get together if possible I sent you an email. Peace
This is a straight up jam! I'm guessing this was not recorded all at once, but listening to it, I can't help but imagine you guys doing this big on stage. So organic and very nice on the ears.
Hey PJB, this is my first time leaving a review for you. I want to make sure that this is a good one. Love the musical fusion and the instrumentation throughout the record. Love how every sound blends in together and the arrangement is spot on. Outstanding work, sir. You have a standing ovation from me.
Hey there mate..thanks very much for your very kind review,it is greatly appreciated and makes the music all that more enjoyable to make and share....thank you again!
cheers Dave :)
Some first class music from looperman classiest artists. This is an enjoyable piece of music right here. I imagine myself chilling out at a jazz lounge while sipping on a stiff cocktail. Yeah that's the ticket. Great track Planet, you knocked it out the park with this one.
Hey DJC..thank you very much!though I doubt many would share your view..I wear my hat the right way round! lol..much appreciated all the same!.. cheers Dave :)
This is a first for me...commenting twice on a tune! But, it popped up as a featured track on my page, and so I had to listen (though I've already listened to it so many times I can't even number...it's just that GOOD)....the playfulness at the end among you guys is priceless!! You guys should form a unit and get your bad-asses up on the Montreaux Jazz Festival stage! TRUTH!
Mate impressed, firstly you doing Jazz, but more so the brilliance of this piece, absolute pleasure to the ears, everything sounding so good with in the piece, you can tell this is a good piece of work with the members you have collab'd with, all 3 of you great muso's,slap with Sax, is a stand out for me, man is briiliant on the sax, really admire what he does, nothing much more to say on this one my friend, but been a pleasure to listen to this one...great work by all involved...Peace...elsd....
ah some jazz from the planet himself... nice collaboration!!! i can always count on you to do it up just right... the "cup of tea" you put in is the icing on the cake... great job on the arrangement... cross this one off your "bucket list"!!! i bow down to your greatness, neil
Hey me old mate the Station Wagon..thanks for dropping by man, very much appreciated..I actually saw a Pontiac wagon the other day...friggin huge, took up half the road!lol cheers mate Dave :)
The PLANET is ALIVE !! Looking for some new Jazz release's took me 6 pages in to find this Great Jazz Composition. Man you are working that fret-less bass to perfection. Zappo and Slap were also outstanding in their contributions to this tune. Luv the Drums. Jazz as Jazz should be!! with a great ending. Fila
Hey Fila, thanks man!...good to see there's still a few dudes around that like a little Jazz now and then!lol..cheers mate and thank you very much for the cool review! Dave :)
As one who loves drums and percussion I have to tell you this is a magic sound on the kit. Great live feel to it and anything resembling a real musician on a real kit works for me. This is dynamite. That tympani thing is very clever too - adds so much. OK enough on the drums. Super bass lines - we should get a band together! Sax is superb, the piano is lovely and the organ just perfect. It's all just very well synthesised and works at every level. This is very classy stuff and a joy to listen to. Thank you.
Hey Richie thanks man!...actually I was sort of taking a leaf out of your book.I have EZDrummer/SuperiorDrummer which I used here..definitely worth getting back into them to get that 'real' drum sound..I'd been using Stylus RMX a lot which is great but doesn't have that real stick on skin sound (not that any drums have skins on them now! lol).....Amazingly we are in the same country! lol..so anything is possible...God can you imagine how cool it would be if many of Looperman's muso's lived in the same city..damn we could get one hot unit together!...always a pleasure to have you stop by mate!..cheers from Zap,Slap and Dave (sounds like that terrible 70's band!lol) :)
Great musical journey. A very special dream. Perfect the three, a super collaboration. You really know how to make my ears perceive perfectly all instruments in its true magnitude. It's music.
NOw...this is jazz I can getinto in a big way...I`ve gone to a few jazz clubs in the past & couldn`t quite get into the head-nodding going on around me as it was the traditional kind of stuff that has always sounded to me like everybody was playing a different tune (I`m thick that way)...This is THE music...and big talent comes with every player in the band....Slap is deadly...and love the work on that fretless (did Iget that right) Dave....keys fill the bill exactly right...man this is top notch stuff guys...I`m in awe...Do some more...I`ll be downloading for more listens (thanks).......Ed
Hey Ed thanks man!....I felt that way about Trad Jazz that my dad used to play (though I like it now,but wouldn't try and play it,not my scene)...yep that's my fretless,I always wanted the Jaco sound(what bass player didn't),but you can only get that sound with an epoxy covered fingerboard and since I've had this bass which has a natural ebony board untreated I much prefer it's sound, more woody and a lower growl....plus why emulate when you can go your own way..oh dear I've started to gear talk..I'm hopeless,I could go on and on and bore everyone to sleep...thanks again mate! cheers Zap,Slap and Dave :)
I like this very form "improvisation" you have here with the nuances of each instrument.
Unity is strength, and this is proof here.
A good time jazz, and thank you for sharing this moment ....
Compliments to you three ....
Hey Dan..thanks mate!..it's always good to play with these two guys, you just walk into the room and start jamming, even though we're separated by thousands of kilometres/miles! lol
cheers Dave :)
Dave, you always do it up right. The bass on this one is a lesson for all of us who own a bass, but never really learned how to play it the right way. I think a lot of people forget just how important that bass line is to everything else in a song. Zappo again illustrates his huge talents and Slap, well we all know how great he is.
This is the melding of three huge talents and the resulting product is perfect. I needed a little pick me up this morning and this one did the trick. I think I'll head off to the pool now for a cold beverage and a dip in the deep end :) Maybe Skanky Ann will be there in her bikini, hahaha.
Hope all is well. Downloaded to enjoy over and over. Thanks for that.
Hey Bear, thanks man!....you are way too kind but as your well aware of the more you get into an instrument the greater your understanding is of how little you actually know....your review is much appreciated my friend...cheers from the guys and me. Dave :)
Hey there mate,I think I'm going through a 'live' phase with the sound at the moment..must be all that early dance hall vibes flashing back on me...mind you,I feel some big soundscapes/stages coming on shortly! haha...I always like reading your appraisals Mahloo,I think we all do...I doubt anyone on the loop has your accrued audio acumen...cheers man! Dave
I REALLY love your bass Dave. This one just dances about so smoothly. Those Zappo licks feel real good haha. And that sax, oh goodness...ya know this all just makes me feel like grabbing a partner and dancing!
It kinda feels like jazz club meets dance club somewhere in the middle and they all just hang out together!
Hey there Pat...one of the main reasons I took up an instrument was getting out of dancing,on reflection I think I made a huge tactical error now! lol...bring back Chubby Checker music then anybody can dance or fake it! haha..thank you! cheers Dave ;)
Very cool track guys! First of is the walking of that Fender Jazz bass, nice work Dave, it really is the bass(base) to all tracks. The drums were great and I loved that roll on the kettle drum or very low bass drum, that was a nice addition. Gotta love Zappo's zen, it really shines through here! ;) Slap makes it all come together with that sax of his, such a nice groove.
This brightened up my rainy day here, excellent all around, great track guys! Skanky Ann, my friend dated a Betty Akinhole, wonder if she is any relation, hehe.
Hey Wayne....thanks mate!..I'm guessing that Betty Akinhole had a few things in common with Skanky..I'd better shutup before I get into trouble!lol...ahhh the perversions of untrammelled youth ;)

Description : Every instrument is performed and recorder live. Piano, double bass, drums.
Instruments Used:
-"WELTMEISTER" upright piano (MADE IN GERMANY in 1938)
-"KAY" upright bass (MADE IN GERMANY somwhere in 1950th)
-TAMA Imperial Star + Pearl OMAR HAKIM snare + Various Ziljian cymbals.
I just put together some old ideas to see if it will work. Some vocals and brass, or guitars is clearly needed. Let me know what you think about it. Tnx
Description : Do not freak out just because this is jazz! There's also blues, rock, funk and a little hip hop in it to break up the deep, chillout jazz sections - gets particularly rocking then funky at the end. Main bassline (the track's foundation) is recycled leftover slide resonator guitar parts detuned one octave to make a slide bass sound. Also features: piano, violin, hammered dulcimer, organ, ethereal pad guitar, bass guitar, jazz/blues/rock electric guitar and multiple programmed acoustic drumkits. This was difficult to make at times as I thought I needed more leads parts eg from sax or trumpet. But I'm happyish with the end result. I expect very little interest in this as it's both jazz and long jazz. But it's also an unusual type of genre-mixing jazz. So, leave your thoughts, good or bad, if you like...
Description : This is track me and my friend (great jazz, blues musician) done
around this great vocal we acquired.
Lot of hours in it.
I had great fun making it!
Hope you people like it.
Love and peace.
Description : I think it's a late evening song to accompany you for a single drink.
Jazzy in most of the aspects. It is made single handedly so please consider it an experimentation for the thrill of making music.
Hope you will like it.
Description : This track made me just stop working on it and listen to it for enjoyment.
Smooth Mellow funky Jazz. Uses: 0111003-djrumplestiltskin-swung-funk-drum-beat, 0087009-mrroads442-guitar-line, 0072485-michiel555-mellow-funk, 0058934-ferryterry-90-bpm-soprano-sax. Is this Funk or Jazz?
Description : This track contains only free loops from Stayonbeat.com and several loops from Looperman artists (listed below). I "made a promise" that my next track will be use a lot of jazzy loops - well, i done with this track, for the great sadness of jazz lovers or experts i think - i fear they will never forgive me. :) While my ISP launches my internet out of the Earth system for a long time, i had to face the fact that i dont have too much downloaded jazz loops on my computer, so i think no wonder that this one is sounds like if i smoke some marihuana while making it. But hey, who cares, i like the result - it reminds me the (maybe only) really funny episode of "Breaking Bad", where Pinkman uses some heroin and flyes up with an idiotic smile on his face - that chapter is priceless. :D
I dont think this one needs a vocal, but ofcourse you can use it if you want, and as always, just write and i will give any support as i can. Any feedback welcomed too as always. Enjoy! UPDATE 2015.10.24.: improved audio quality - lower lows, higher highs. Now in 256kbps!

Description : Something a bit different from us. I (Bobo) played guitar, synth, midi bass and percs to this piano loop by LM's most excellent Rasputin. Wataya, stoned as usual, thought he heard Barbara Streisand singing. This is the result.
Description : I created a hip hop groove in Logic and decided to duel some Saxophones. I am playing the Baritone sax on the left pan and the Tenor Sax on the right pan.
I added some bells like a boxing match bell to give it a fight drama feel. The hip hop track itself is dope to me. The duel is cool too. Who won?
Perhaps you should have a go at flower arranging yourself.

Fantastic arrangement and collaboration between 3 incredible talents!
Really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing.
cheers Dave :)
I like that bass moving around and I absolutely loved that snare.
At one moment when the keys came in I was thinking this is going into Hip-Hop (due to the chord progression) but it never crossed the boarder.
Kind of retro sounding but in a very good way.
I REALLY love your bass Dave. This one just dances about so smoothly. Those Zappo licks feel real good haha. And that sax, oh goodness...ya know this all just makes me feel like grabbing a partner and dancing!
