Description : Using Kong today, mostly to work out how to get the damn pads on my Launchkey to play the pads on the on-screen sampler (which is automatic in Ableton Drum Racks...good one Reason). The secret was custom pad mapping through the Novation Components app. Finally Kong is like my SP-606 to use. I'm rambling ... enjoy the drum loop.

Description : A nice percussion loop made with drum racks in Ableton. The main thing I wanted to try out was the WA DJFX vst plugin effect - I have used it verry subtly on this loop at the end but it can go pretty wild.

Description : More hard techno kicks because I know people love them! These were made entirely 'in the box' with just Ableton Drum Racks and Ableton FX (mostly reverb, saturation, sidechaied compression and autofilter). You don't always need all the expensive stuff to make good sounds (not that Live is cheap haha).

Description : A simple breakbeat made with a drum rack in Ableton and Beat Slammer from Baby Audio.

Description : This beat is made to sound like it was captured from a boom box cassette player in the late 80s. Of course it is just an Ableton Drum Rack with the right FX on it but the sound is true to the vibe of the time. I used OCS-45 for the cassette effect.

Description : Always experimenting with ways to get more out of the RD-9 drum machine. This time I fed the raw audio from the hardware into an FX chain in Reason and sidechained it. The result is a thick rumble but retaining really pronounced transients. Pretty cool and quite different to Ableton.

Description : Working backwards here. Programmed this beat (Hip Hop 7 from the drum machine handbook) on the hardware sampler and then transferred it into a Drum Rack in Ableton. Boosted with Beat Slammer.

Description : The perc sounds in the Juno-D are perfect for a bit of house/tech-house. This pattern was sequenced using Juno-D samples in an Ableton Drum Rack with Breakshaper FX and finally a Replika delay.

Description : Turns out the Juno-D can do a pretty good drum beat as well. I have sampled the sounds from the Juno and sequenced them in Ableton.
