Avengers Assemble !
Cool track Billy and very good timing, the Infinity War begins in just a few days. If the movie follows anywhere close to the comic series, our heroes will need all the motivation and support we can give them. Be prepared to see many fall at the hand of Thanos. Some of which we may never see again. After all Thanos is the most powerful being in the cosmos. He was resurrected by death herself and after obtaining the infinity stones for his gauntlet, he gains mastery over them. The soul, the mind, power, time, reality and space. He becomes omnipotent. The beginning of the end starts...well...here with Billy's track ! And continues with Avengers Infinity War. Its gonna be intense ! Thanks for kicking it off Billy !
Brother Neo. Will you take the blue pill or the red pill? lol...
Thanks man for your enthusiastic response. This Infinity War hype reminds me of Captain America Civil War. But the unveiling of Thanos and his immense power should reunite the Avengers together. And yet we are dreading which comic book heroes will reach their demise. Did you know the concept of the Infinity stones was taken from the Bible, from the Israelites priesthoods breastplate! Just a thought...
Anyway my brother, this movie looks intense, and its only the first half. Enjoy your day. Blessings - B.
Nice one Kyle! Great all around effort here. I like the minimal aspect of the track and how you build on it. All instruments are clean and well played. But your vocals are the main ingredient and are what really delivers the knockout punch. This is one of those tracks that grabs your heart and squeezes the emotion out of you. That's the power of vocals and the difference they can make. I did notice a bit of background noise that I think could be improved with some EQ adjustment. There at the very end when the music cuts you can really hear it. That's prevalent throughout and muddying the track up. If you could fix that I think you would notice some improved clarity. Irrespective, I think you knocked this one out of the park man. Really diggin it !
Hey thanks for listening to the track, I appreciate your compliments. I couldn't quite get the EQ just right on this one, seemed like the more I tried to fix it the worse that it got. I will probably give it another try in the future after I have taken a long break from hearing the track. Anyway, thanks again.
Yes the Metal Gods are without a doubt much appeased with this offering ! The much anticipated third and final installment of the Overmyth trilogy.
Sup Aaron !
Damn bro I'm almost inclined to dub you the George Lucas of Metal. Waiting for your tracks is a bit like waiting on George to bestow another movie on his aging fandome! (haha) jk man !!
Hey I know your a bit of a perfectionist for one and also this virtual guitar playing gig is no easy task if your trying to get realistic results. I'm really impressed with what you have been able to do with Shreddage. I still haven't mustered up enough patience for a serious attempt to use it. I think its cool as hell and definitely has more than enough capability to deliver some fabulous metal guitar as you have proven here. Are you using Revolver for amp sim? Just curious of your cab choices and effects chain set up. Love the thick tone and very creamy fuzz/distortion. After a couple of listens to just enjoy the music I started some closer examination and first off noted your combinations of sustains and palm mutes for the rhythms. Got to ish some props. The velocities and chord thresholds are well set up. Very realistic sounding man. The more I listen to it the more impressed I get. The bass and drum sections are very well done too and I'm particularly happy that you maintained your self control to keep it from being overly programmed with too much speed drumming. In fact the drums are so good they can pass for the real thing. If you programmed everything yourself that's a pretty amazing job. Many wont realize the effort required in syncing the drums and bass with the guitar chops which is a staple element for this type of music. Composition and structure wise its pretty solid and true to form Doom Metal. The intro is perfect and does the job to create the right atmosphere and some real nice sinister notes with heavy reverb combines with the bass and drums to usher in the opening melody. This is almost cinematic, which you do very well and is a bit of ValveDriver trademark. That big wall of sound you create, as StaticNomad ponted out, is awesome and really adds a lot of depth and power to the mix. Oh yeah! I love those power chords man! Some really nice breakdowns there and those riff unisons are SWEEEEET ! Yeah I was waiting for a tempo change and got my wish at 4:48, nice !! Aww, those power chugs and then the big break, love that. Good outtro section too. Dude you nailed this bitch. I dig every inch of it. As always I'm super stoked to see you back on the board with another track release. I like the direction you've taken with the addition of virtual guitar. You've certainly opened up a whole new realm of possibilities for your music. Good stuff my friend. Keep it coming.
Well, it's another delayed reply, but here we go!!
Being compared to George Lucas isn't a bad thing! Lord knows, if Disney ever wanted to buy my work, I wouldn't hesitate either!
"Are you using Revolver for amp sim?"
No sir. I am not. A few years ago I picked up a real life guitar with every intention of learning it. So, with it, I bought a Pod Farm interface that has a ton of amp sims, cabs, and effect pedals.
I used what I believe is supposed to be the eqivalent of a Marshall. That alone has a pretty decent distortion with the gain knob. Then I just tweaked the bass, treble and mids in the preamp to kind of make it pop. I have two guitar tracks panned out to 70% on each side, then each linked to the same master track, where I put a little compression and some more fine tuning with a parametric EQ, Since the bass guitar played such a dominant role in the sound of this tune, I cut a lot of the low end off the guitars, trying to blend the low end guitar frequencies into the high end bass frequencies. Hoping that there wouldnt be too many trying to overstep, and essentially, evenly covering all across the board.
The sustained and palm muted riffs. What little I can play on the guitar, is just that. That has always been my favorite way of playing.
"Too much speed drumming"
Thats easy for a lot of people to do. I've always loved metal. But when guys just sit there doing nothing but double kicks, blast beats, and ridiculous fills, it gets a little boring. I think there's a time for that, but it certainly isnt the entire song. I like some good rythm in those beats.
I did program everything myself. Including processing each piece to get the exact sound I wanted. Then placing each hit exactly where it needs to be. A very tedious process, but also very cathartic. Lol.
I was just talkinng to my lady the other night about how I think my "electro" days are behind me. I've moved into a new chapter of life, and the metal side is where I need to be now. So, I am definitely exploring that new realm of possibilities.
Thank you for this awesome review, man. As someone who doesn't use live instruments to create music, it's always encouraging to hear such positive feedback from you guys who do.
Having almost given you up for dead, I'm extremely happy to once again see your familiar avatar appear among the list of new submissions. Have been checking in here 2 or 3 times a week for months now and no sign of the StaticBromad. Had me worried for a bit. I think you pulled a Clapton on us tho ! Even though there is little doubt that this is pure SN, I have got to agree with some of the others that there is something fresh here.
It does exude a considerable amount of dark mood as you had intended, not sure if I would label it Doom. I don't get any fearful or ominous vibes. To me its more mystical, or strangely unnerving. And I think that's a better or more interesting quality actually. The intro is perfect in the way it pulls us into the track with the tonal drones. The sound is deep and full and far reaching. Very soothing. As the drums come in, the swells continue to drone on along with some very tasteful orchestration that builds some nice intensity. I'm liking this a lot already. The drums sound really good. I especially like the kit you've chosen. The snare is tight but not too tight. Good amount of toms and double bass work and again very tasteful. No overplayed super speed stuff. I Like the wide panning on the cymbals. I cant believe how f'n cool this vst guitar track is! Its like some crazy whammy bar distortion delayed glitch thing. That's brilliant !! I'm digging that shit for sure ! Cello is totally amazing in this bro. You could literally put me in a trance with this. You got command of this instrument and its a beautiful thing. I don't know what the hell else I can say here man, other than this track is pretty goddamn epic. I listened to it over and over many times !!!! This enters the charts well within the top 10 StaticNomad tracks for me and could very well be on its way to el numero uno ! Fantastico effort my friend. I hope you don't get in the habit of the disappearing acts, BUT if this is what we can expect upon your return, well then its worth the wait. And hey I just realized this thing is 11 minutes long ! HA HA, never thought I would say it but....its too damn short !!!
Poor old NeoMorphinBro, desperately looking for a new bit of Nomad and continually being frustrated. Until, one day in March 2018, The God Unknown heard about his situation and delivered Neo a new Nomad track. It’s not the real Nomad but a track this mysterious God cooked up in half an hour to satisfy the Nomad’s biggest fan.
What’s pulling a Clapton? Is that taking a break from music for a few years to be a heroin addict? No, I didn’t do that – I’ve just mostly run out of creativity and riffs and stuff. Which, as a musician, can be a bit of a problem.
“not sure if I would label it Doom”
I agree. I tried and failed to make doom cello. I’d be happy if I‘d managed to add some short evil sections, or even just fills, here and there. Something a lot darker and perhaps more discordant adn atonal than what I have here. But I failed as I sort of don’t know how and am generally constricted by my desire to seek out beauty and melody. You probably could have added some tasty, evil bits of guitar. And/or a proper solo.
“To me its more mystical, or strangely unnerving. And I think that's a better or more interesting quality actually.”
I don’t know if it’s better. Mystical isn’t too difficult for me but dark and evil without being offputting is more difficult for me to achieve so would be more pleasing to accomplish.
“I especially like the kit you've chosen.”
That’s John Tempesta’s Superior Drummer kit called Metal Machine. You must know him – excellent drummer from White Zombie. I’ve used it in loads of tracks.
“I cant believe how f'n cool this vst guitar track is!”
Don’t believe it as I only think it’s decent. But I’m a bit jaded after listening to it thousands of times and struggling to automate it to get it to move vaguely how I wanted.
“Its like some crazy whammy bar distortion delayed glitch thing.”
I guess that was me automating the pitch, plus something else. It’s a VST guitar being driven by an arpeggiator in Reason.
“Cello is totally amazing”
It’s pretty good but you may have been confused by what is and isn’t cello. Some strings are programmed, for instance the only bass sound used here, which plays throughout. There are various periods with no cello at all.
“I hope you don't get in the habit of the disappearing acts”
I am firmly in the habit, so to speak. Just because it’s taking longer to make a track these days due to my lack of ideas. My output has slowed down so much, which is somewhat distressing to me but I’m trying not to let it get me down.
“its too damn short”
I don’t agree though I could easily have made it longer.
Thanks for the kind words, high praise and interesting reflections.
I just discovered you skyrider and going thru your tracks this is my fave. Totally dig the power groove on this one man ! Yeah makes me wanna go drive fast ! What happened on that ending though? You should really fix that because this tune is totally solid otherwise. I'm a fan bro, keep them coming.
Thanks for listening to the track and leaving a review. When I recorded this one I was been a bit lazy with the ending. I've gone back to it today and recorded a new one.
I've just purchased EZdrummer 2 with loads of extensions so Ill have more options when it comes to my drum tracks.
Cheers Mik
That's a slick track bro, I really dig the groovy vibe throughout. The guitars are killer man, I gotta listen to more of your stuff. Love that outtro too, so seductive and mysterious. The bongo’s are a nice touch and fit the theme. I can close my eyes and picture a dawn patrol off Ocean City in the younger days. I did a little surfing and some skate boarding during my fearless (and little regard for life) teens. Have to admit that I was expecting something more along the lines of Dick Dale, Jan and Dean, The Ventures or the Beach Boys from the title. Even though we were a few generations or so from that era, when it came to music there were certain songs that were considered "Holy Grail" and required listening. My favorite was Catch a Wave by the Beach Boys, which Endless Summer pretty much was the soundtrack of my life between the ages of 14 -16. I still get chills when I listen to it. During that time I discovered music, surfing, girls and got my drivers license. The age of innocence was over, it was a great time! Thanks for the download on this one and also for triggering the ol' memory banks !
Hey Neo thanks buddy! it's great remembering times back on the coast and I'm glad this track achieved a little of that for you, damn I need to move to a warmer climate (water wise) haha I've turned into a whimp, no 10mm neoprene wetsuits for me!..really appreciate you dropping by mate...cheers Dave :)
Really nice keys, I like the somber vibe. As far as suggestions I think it would sound great with the addition of some strings and a power section that builds some intensity. Work in more of the idea of the enemy rising aspect. Then reprise back to the keys for the ending. This of course would make it more of a song or composition, which is what I would do with it. But it is nice as is. Just giving you some food for thought.
I tryed multiple times to add strings because I thought that the track were to "empty". However, everytime I try it, it just results into a mess. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. But everytime I try to add a new instrument it just sounds completely wrong. I guess I don't have enough experience yet to let the song sound more "professionel".
However I'm currently searching for someone who can help me out with that. So I can share a better song soon. Until then I'll try my best to make the song better by my own.
Thank you anyway for your feedback. I really appreciate it!
Sounds killer man ! I dig the tone from those Dimebuckers and of course worship Dime and Pantera which this so reminds me of. I know its amazing what you can do now days with these small amps. Yeah this would def be worth working a little more on in terms of adding some bass or maybe just some sub bass to beef the bottom a little more in spots, and punching up the drum track. Guitar wise (structurally) it sounds pretty suitable as is. The double tracking and fills are all tight and I like the stereo and glitch effects. Your good at that stuff man and I really dig it. Did you mean phasing or phrasing in the last sentence?
Thanks man, I'm a big Pantera guy, Dime taught me to play (figuratively).
I've found a way to get a bigger tone, by putting it through my rack rather than the amp. (Mixer>Eq>comp>interface and Mixer>comp>eq>interface)
Sounds huge, I'll have something using this method soon.
I meant phasing, I had four guitar & two "bass" tracks. They were fighting, I seemed to have fixed it through luck rather than skill.
Very unique and interesting track. I instantly got the feeling of experiencing something cross cultural which is always a special and wonderful gift we humans should embrace and get more of. Thanks for sharing that bro.
Amazing track bro. It runs the gamut across several derivative forms and styles. The intro has a great industrial flavor that quickly melds with some distinctive bleeps and bloops reminiscent of primitive 8 bit chip tune music that defined multiple generations of video games. I like the insane laughs as you kick it into dnB beat mode. How or what are you using to create the high pitched distorted sound? It almost sounds like high speed vinyl record scratching. The drop there at 1:46 (f'n cool as hell) shifts it into a quasi dubstep/dnB fusion vibe, that incorporates a few tempo changes and some real cool glitch and off tempo stuff there at the end. This is pretty dope shit my friend, I hope its not the last we hear you do as mentioned in the description.
That one is a funny sound! I used a DDJ-SB midi controller with a sample, I forget what it was originally but I had messed with it, stretching, warping, fx, eq, comp ect... Something like that, I'll open the file at some point and find out.
I'm changing things, same attitude, different methods, more guitars and drums. I want to be able to play my music on stage as opposed to Dj'ing, I friggin' hate Dj'ing.
I've just uploaded my first toe touch if you'd be interested, it's called black tape, I'm just getting the methods down so don't expect too much yet.

Good mover you got here X. I especially noticed your efforts on the structuring. These electronic genres are very repetitious in nature. You did a good job to keep it from being another long boring continuous loop with a few effects.
Hey Neo i agree that this genre needs to be well structured to prevent the track from being boring i have a short attention span more so the older i get. Thanks and Best regards Robbie.
Pretty heavy track man. Lots of sweet chops in here and plenty of aggression. I like the heavy gain and the guitar sounds great. This would be cool with a nice bridge and a clean, somewhat subdued section to break it up a bit and also add more structure. Good stuff bro, keep em coming.
Robbie, you made my day with this one man! Its not too often that I get the hairs standing up on the back of my neck listening to a track! Wicked cool stuff here. Those drums are just ass kickin bro ! The track has a lot of cinematic quality to it. Those pads in the ending section are awesome ! Great job on this, love it !
Hey Neo there are three drums in this the first of which at 0.46 was not a drum but sounded like an array of them after i messed with some midi notes and varied the speed of the pad hits. There is a journey in this track from personal experience which i'm happy not to re live other than musically. Thanks you for kind comment. Best regards Robbie.
Aaron, just noticed the new track and damn I'm here at work. I gave it a quick precursory listen using my ear buds because I wouldn't be able to get any work done thinking about it otherwise !! I really dig the heavy use of the high frequency sounds, very cool stuff ! That combined with the deep ryhthms and bass lines (should I say Dubstep elements?) really make for a uniquely interesting contrast. I have never heard anything like this before so yeah I especially dig this approach man. The overall vibe here seems like you have revisited early ValveDriver, which is really exciting. I definitely will be giving this a few more spins later this evening bro.
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. (And everyone else.) life’s been a weird trip lately. Keeping me busy.
Anyhow, I’m glad you liked this one. It’s not real high on my list of favorites of mine, but I dig it. It was kind of the track that got me back into working new tunes. I kind of fell out for awhile.
I finally finished the last track of my Overmyth trilogy, it’s a doom metal-ish thing that, to me, is slow low and heavy. Keep an eye out for it in the next couple days.
I love the Hobbit ! Sam Wise and Frodo back together again ! Nice track jamid, if more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world!
This is tight bro. Nice Deep house groove sprinkled with plenty of interesting and tasteful techno sounds and effects. Great job on the pans and sidechains, so much movement it never gets dull. Very cool track. Welcome to Looperman, I hope to hear from you.
Silve, this is tight man and as danke put it, perfect progressive lounge! I love the changeups throughout, it morphs back and forth between several genres, House, Jazz, Hip Hop/Trip Hop with the Reggae undertones remaining consistent throughout. Very much a groove heavy high quality mix. Super production elements and obvious attention to separation and stereo effect. I dig the hard panned stuff. This works really well in the clubs. If you don't mind I will get it into some playlists here in Big D. Ha ha with the title I was expecting to hear the Icecream truck ding dong sound effect in a fading outtro. Its definitely sweet and smooth.
I dig it bro, very aggressive and technical playing with both guitar and drums. Got some nice structural elements in there to keep it from getting too repetitive. The sound is good but I still think there's some room for improvement. To really round it out I feel you need to punch up the bass a bit more and I cant really make out any cymbals, which really play an important part of the percussion in terms of dynamics. I had this same issue early on and began focusing on things and areas to really broaden the stage. Clarity is a major problem with Rock and Metal, don't be afraid to lean toward higher eq's in the mix. Then offset them with some punchy bass and even throw in some sub bass if needed to ensure sufficient bottom end. I'm always happy to see new faces here dishing out heavy tunes, especially Metal. So yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing more stuff from you.
Thank you for the comment :) I have posted the full track including vocals. It is supposed to be a bit trippy ...hehehe and hope it lives up to expectations ;)
Brofessor Static, yeah man I been anxiously waiting for a new track from you esé!
Its definitely a cool trypt with a host of far out sounds that I havent heard from you before. I especially dig the section around 6:30 where the synth begins the distorted swells that almost resemble playing through a wah or expression pedal. I like the cresendo that begins around 7:25 where you reprise the same sound and really go nuts with it. That's some really dope shit ! BUT, it could be even better if you would incorporate some panning to move the sound around for some crazy stereo effect. Its perfect for that sort of thing. Anyhow just an idea. Since its the holiday season now, I'm waiting to see if Santa will bring a Christmas cello track from you. I'm putting it on my list !!
Have you really been anxiously waiting for a new track from me? Walking around during the day thinking: "Damn, I really need me some new Nomad"?
Anyway, good to hear there are "a host of far out sounds that I havent heard from you before" because I try to introduce new sounds into every track I make and I think I'm mostly successful.
"the section around 6:30 where the synth begins the distorted swells"
That's my lead dubstep synth. I downloaded a load of free dubstep patches for Reason (my main synth) and that sound seemed pretty cool. Quite a few dubstep sounds annoy me though perhaps it's more to do with the way they're used and abused.
I'm just automating a few settings on that synth so that's probably why it sounds like it's a wah or expression pedal in use. Pretty standard dubstep stuff.
"7:25 where you reprise the same sound and really go nuts with it."
Yeah, that's pretty aggressive. I will give your extreme panning idea a go as I need to go back sometime and improve this track. The main task is to come up with an intro.
No, there won't be a Christmas cello track from me but I can offer the following one from much earlier this year that I think you missed. It's got some really cool cello in it plus trip hop and dubstep and so on. Trypt actually came out of it so they're both at the same tempo.
Whoa ! I have always been impressed with your work Orlando but man this is quite frankly on a different level, maybe even the highest I have seen here. I am totally blown away by this ! It's an amazing piece in every sense. I don't even want to present anything specific in fear that I may embarrass myself. As I listened I was trying to think of the word to describe the style or feel I was getting from it and then I read Steve's comment and there it was...Victorian. Even though the typical Halloween tracks usually include varying amounts of cliche sound effects, which I'm not opposed to because they are mainly part of the fun aspect and what most consider Halloween to be about. It is good that you kept this clean and retained its serious nature. You know I once met a real vampire? Oh yes, Vampires are real. There is actually a huge cult following that exists world wide. But I met this girl many years ago who confessed to me she was a vampire and tried to get me to stay with her and join her family as she described it. Her apartment was kept very dark (she had aluminum foil over all her windows), She had blood in jars in her refrigerator and I saw pictures of ritual parties that included blood letting. She even had her canine teeth shaped into fangs in her mouth. Needless to say, I only went on the one date. She scared me to no end but did open my eyes to accept and believe that certain things exist that we would like to think don't. Excellent track my friend. Straight to fave and download !
Much pleasure to hear from you again after quite some time!
I have to admit immediately that it's real rarity to receive such a positive and comprehensive feedback. I must
say I'm truly honoured by all that positivity you're showing. Very surprising and amusing is also your story about the vampire girl. You should introduce her to me one day...:)^^
Many thanks again for this lovely and generous feedback, as well for the'fav' and 'dl'...means alot!

Thanks for listening to the track and leaving a review. When I recorded this one I was been a bit lazy with the ending. I've gone back to it today and recorded a new one.
I've just purchased EZdrummer 2 with loads of extensions so Ill have more options when it comes to my drum tracks.

However I'm currently searching for someone who can help me out with that. So I can share a better song soon. Until then I'll try my best to make the song better by my own.
Thank you anyway for your feedback. I really appreciate it!

Thanks for dropping dude.

Thanks for the in-depth analysis my dude!

Catch ya later, mister. Take care.
Aaron.

Later bro.
