Good stuff bro. Nice smooth jazz with some pretty tight guitar work. You could definitely refine this a bit more and if I could make a suggestion, try some panning. Everything seems to be coming from the same point with exception of the water effect. Especially on those fills. Widening it out will really add some dimension and make it much more dynamic and interesting. I dig though, hope to hear more from you.

I like it. Presents a chilled but somewhat depressive or a mentally unstable vibe. I might be inclined to use a portion in a project I have in the works. I will let you know if I do. By all means keep at it. The majority of us around here love weird !

    I dig it jay !
Very cool rhythm guitar track and the vocals are raspy with a load of attitude. Nice ol' skool vibe here but I agree with danke that the drums could use a bit of tweeking and maybe polish up the ending some. Yeah some soloing and fills would also add some gloss. Good stuff though bro, definitely would love to hear more from you.

Real unique track. Has a dark and mysterious almost sinister vibe to it. Vocals are perfect and extremely well done. I'm getting a lot of film noir feeling from it. Would work nice as a theme to something like American Horror story. I dig it TA.

    Hey Neomorpheus.
Thank you for your kind words. I agree that it has a sinister vibe. I don't think it's dark enough for AHS though. The latter half seem a little more hopeful, in a ttrippy kinda way. Still if they offer me money, I will not be turning it down :p

    Thanks for your comment, man.

Juan I cant believe I have just now discovered your music and you have 4 years on the site. I really dig this track and I am immediately impressed with your ability and style of playing and composing. Real nice hard driving rhythm with some great strumming and accenting that really adds power and dynamics to your riffs. Marks of an excellent rhythm guitarist. I'm off to check out the rest of your tracks.

WOW nice work here MWR ! This is one of my many fave Rock classics and I got to give you major props man. You nailed the B3 sounds, the key stabs and slaps, drawbar manipualtion (or volume pedal), glissandro's, all the nuances that makes this one of Rocks most recognized keyboard greats. You no doubt have Joachim Young smiling down on you from Heaven man. Instant fave from me bro, I love it.

"Turn off your mind, relax and float downstream, and listen to the color of your dreams" (excerpts from Tomorrow Never Knows).

The last song on the Beatles Revolver album was the first psychedelic rock music track ever recorded. How crazy it must have been for teens in 1966 to hear that for the first time. Of course like most of what the Beatles did, it laid the groundwork and inspired others to follow their example.

By chance have you been hanging out on Carnaby street, hanging out at the Indica bookshop reading Timothy Leary, listening to Ravi Shankar and/or experimenting with LSD? (Ha ha) I would probably (hopefully) guess no, but listening to your music one could easily make the connection to the mystical and mind expansion era and nature from which it originates. Definitely a cool track here, with some interesting and wonderful sound composition. The synth work is amazing throughout especially those crazy modulated notes beginning around 3:45. I really dig the latter section of the track where you slow the tempo with the sitar. How are you doing the bass under that? That's some groovy shit bro. Whose doing anything on this level ? Wow. I don't know what Alien is making reference to but I'm not hearing it.

Your such an innovative artist man. You could actually be the fifth Beatle, well I guess it would be the 6th Beatle (Pete Best original drummer). I mean your in the right spot there in London. By the way have you ever seen or actually met Paul or Ringo? I'm sure they would seriously dig your music.

Love it bro, keep them coming man !

    Reply by StaticNomad

    Psychedelic Christmas greetings!

I am not in fact the sixth Beatle, mostly because I was born 10 years after they disbanded. Im sure if Id been born 20 years before, I would have been in the group, probably teaching them how to make psychedelic drum n cell. Not sure how I would have knocked out dnb beats back in the 60s but Id have found a way.

Theres almost a big beat (I mean the dance genre) drum sound on the exceptional Tomorrow Never Knows, which is still one of the greatest and most futuristic pieces of music ever recorded.

Unsurprisingly, Ive never met Paul or Ringo. The latter has lived in the US for years and speaks with what you might call a mid-Atlantic accent. Half English (Liverpudlian accent) and half American, especially when he says and. Would they like my music? No idea. Theyd probably think it was at least OK, maybe nothing more. They might not appreciate the lack of vocals. We should find a way to ask them.

Ive been to Carnaby Street a few times but I dont know if its considered cool or interesting anymore. But I can tell you that its virtually impossible to lock up a bike up to anything there. Theres not much pavement space and no bike racks so I had to lock the bike up elsewhere, then head back in. Amazing story, eh?

This track still annoys me though it was fun to make, mostly in only a few days. It was made out of leftover parts from the last one, Seeds Of New Sins, so shares some of the same sounds (and drum loops). The crazy modulated notes beginning around 3:45 synth came from that track though it sounds totally different in there and isnt playing fast, arpeggiated patterns.

How are you doing the bass under that?

The answer is: very easily. Theres just one synth bass sound in the whole track so I just keep the bass going from the previous dnb sections, changing very little.

Whose doing anything on this level ?

Not really one for me to answer. Only me? 10 million others? Jimi Hendrix at his laptop in musical heaven? I have no idea.

I don't know what Alien is making reference to but I'm not hearing it.

I dont really know what the hell Im doing with mastering and fiddled about for quite a while with this. I know very little about EQ so just do my best with what my ears tell me.

The last 30 secs or so of this arent really good enough. They should be bigger and better and more memorable but I couldnt find a way.

But I did enjoy the sitar stuff, celling it up and the dnb beats and am glad to hear you liked it so much.

    Thanks again!

P.S. I have never taken LSD but I do own a sitar though it is merely collecting dust in my attic.

Good stuff midiman! Love that finger lickin chicken pickin bro. We dont get much in the way of Country in here. Pretty straight forward chord progression but you spiced it up nicely and tastefully. Are you playing a strat or a tele? Of course you "chose wisely" when it came to the vocal track. Patty put the icing on it and it dont get much sweeter! Love those harmonies girl!

Props midi, you really rocked my country with this gem!

Thanks you so much for your nice compliments. When I first started playing guitar I used a Les Paul now only strats. I used 2 different strats on this. Slide lead is my newer one, the Rhythm guitar is my 1970. As I got older I realized that I can get any sound with a strat and also to get the sound out of a stratocaster you have to play it, Really play it.

Again thank you so much for your kind words.

Metalcore Malu, yeah man this is absolutely brutal dude! I hadn't heard this song in like 10 years but this is a badass cover man. What gives, is this actually DWP or a cover band? Details? So funny but I would wager not many listening realizes DWP is a Christian band ! Anyhow props on the mix, sounds great. I severely punished my studio monitors reviewing this lol!! Hope they survived.

Haha! It's a cover band. With the appearance of platforms like Distrokid, youtube etc. a lot of folks take advantage and release covers to boost interest in their particular band which might approach a similar style. It really is great to be able to work on something like this and try to match the sound of the original without access to all that gear they've used.

And yeah there are a lot of Christian bands that have taken an aggressive direction sound wise.

    Thanks for the words!

Brado, I ran across this track a while back and planned to comment but got sidetracked and then it completely slipped my mind. But today I thought of it, "what was that awesome track I heard and who did it? As soon as I scrolled down the list and saw your name it came back to me. Man what a super job you've done with this. The guitar track is killer man, very polished stuff and so much reminiscent of Vitto Brada of White Lion. The vocal track is solid also. Very top level production wise. Could very well have been a hit song during this era. I think it still has potential to possibly make the pop charts with the right backing and marketing. I would definitely say it qualifys for the Looperman top 100 with very high rank. Maybe top 10 in fact. Major props on your efforts bro. Great track.

I want to be in Love with you Patty ! Man you got some pipes ! I hadn't heard this track before. I know you have had some issues involving unathorized use of your vocals and haven't seen you post anything new here in quite awhile. Its a shame cause you are one of the top vocalists we've had in here. I personally would love to hear this song remixed and would love to hurt a set of strings shredding you out a lead guitar solo for it. If your still around and have any interest, drop me a line. Best wishes, hope all is well.

Noteworthy where have you been hiding out ? I thought when I saw your comment on my track that I remembered that name from a long time ago. I lurked Looperman on and off for many years before joining. I think I recall you from the old version of the site. Any how glad to see you return and hope to see you continue to grace us with your music. I was drawn to Looperman by the old Loopers like yourself (old as in longstanding) and actually when I began posting tracks I was doing primarily electronic music. I was relatively new to DAW recording and was really digging the electronic music back then. Anyhow I dig this track, it does remind me of what brought me to Looperman and of course you done a great job here. Its nicely chilled vibe makes for a relaxing listen and really good example of mixing elements and constant progression to keep it from getting boring. Hope to see you hang around. Welcome back.

Hey J, I went about checking your material after receiving a recent comment on my track. Your description here says you just finished this but then I noticed the date it was posted was Jan of 2011! You've been on Looperman longer than I have ! But I don't recall seeing any of your tracks before. Anyhow I like the acoustic guitar work here bro. Nice articulation and good fluid playing. It sounds like its miked so is has that raw quality to it. I think in terms of critique it would be nice if there was more separation in the mix, everything seems to be in the same spot so it gets a bit muddy in spots. But over all its a clear example of some pretty tight playing and a soothing track to listen to.

You're right that it isn't really jazz, I just didn't know what to put as the genre selection. Inspiration for some of the song came from a few dark jazz albums I like to listen to (bohren and der club of gore, the kilimanjaro darkjazz ensemble) which is why i opted for jazz. Cinematic is a way better category, I didn't realise I could have put it as that. Cheers for that
