on JAweGuy - Earthly Love by JAweGuy
Looking into getting some of those libraries now , been looking for vocals like that!! Nice mix, fitting title :D Love epic pieces like this. I can picture this building into an all out orchestral piece :D 1:22 of ear candy :p

Hey phatkatz4,

Thanks for checking it out! Glad you liked it. I really enjoy the Concert Strings library, since it is the only one I have found so far that has a nice portamento setting for the strings (glide switch). The voices are pretty cool too!

on chrysanthemum by DanGoldstein
when i was a teenager a few a friends and I took some lsd at a freind's apartment, on the wall was a painting of a large potted plant. That damn thing literally grew when we looked at it! I see that crysanthemum doing the same listening to the music with it!! :D

I had a similar experience at the same age. my botanical subject however was our willow tree in the backyard. it got a little scary. this mum's track still has lots of space for effects coloring if you know anyone that enjoys that sort of thing! LOL.

on Valvedriven by StaticNomad
I'm safe with headbanging the hell out of my laptop, already killed it doing just what you described ;) onto a desktop now :p I like how this slowed way down with that dark atmosphere I love soooo much and that choir... :D I sure do hear the Valvedriver influence here! Excellent!
StaticNomad
StaticNomad replied 2nd Feb 2015 - 11 years ago
Yo, FourFatCats.

Sorry about the laptop destruction but I did warn you. Desktop is safer as you can put it away under the desk. Which I guess would make it a deskbottom, right?

Yes, I know what you mean about the track appearing to slow down. However, a boring technical point is that almost all of my tracks are fixed tempo on the sequencer throughout but I do all sorts of different stuff with the drums to make things appear slow or faster. I often double the tempo and go into swing jazz or d'n'b or double kick metal as most of my tempos are 80-100 so quite slow. This track is also fixed tempo, which i think is 100bpm.

Anyway, I like the more spacious dark chill in here and it was trying out using the choir instrument that drove the completion of the track. It also reminded me of a certain Valvedriving gentleman so that's why I've dedicated it to him. It wasn't consciously influenced by him but it just reminded me of his vibe so the dedication is appropriate. And it's a good title so I think it works out well for everyone.

Glad you liked it. Another heavy one coming very soon though this one incorporates drum 'n' bass and isn't dedicated to Valvedriver.

on The alien tribes connection - Dream Dancer by joecramer
Breaking News: The Mars rover has discovered a tribe of Native aliens performing a ritual dance and smoking the peace pipe :p FR was the the chief :D I could picture FR doing one similar, well done :D Maybe this was their war dance? I just listened to War of the Worlds radio broadcast.
joecramer
joecramer replied 31st Jan 2015 - 11 years ago
We are not alone :)

Humans are also just another native alien tribe, waiting a while on planets face, for there next move into the deep dark space .......

I think there is to much time and to much space, for having stupid wars in univers.
It is a love conection on an emotional level. It moves mutch faster then light. It looks like love is a kind of a space travel craft, that needs no time to cross the univers. Just a dance, or maybe only a dance, can send you anywhere you want to go to :)

Nice to hear that you like it

stay tuned

Excellent subject matter and job here!! I had an idea for one similar where we travel in a time machine to different eras and the music would represent that time period. Kinda makes me think of Dr. Who and his Tardis :D

After reading V's description all i could picture was a dark circus comes to town like Killer Clowns from outerspace :D Ever try working with sound samples? LOVE dark creepy! I can't help myself! I use harmonic minor scale to make a lot of melodies because of it's dark, demonic sound :p Well done :D

Great comment and feedback, Im so sorry to reply you with a long delay but like you I was a bit busy.
I will try to check all your 44 tracks and write constructive feedback

With what I hear from you at this moment your are pretty great well skilled in composition and mastering grats.

on luminous sunset by DanGoldstein
Fits the picture nicely :D i downloaded this to add a few sounds that'd you hear at sunset standing by a lake. Leave it to the nuclear power plants to ruin the beauty of such a place. Scary....

i saw the photographer at work today. turns out this off the New Jersey coast somewhere near Bayonne and she did not even remember the smokestack let alone if it is from a nuke plant! let me know what you are coming up with. I'm working on another bit for it.

on stand by me instrumental by larrybarrow31
you could make chicken crap soup with chicken crap LOL! Vocals would definitely finish this piece off nicely. I can hear someone rapping over this real emotionally :D I like the repetitive piano with the choir backing, it's like thoughts going on in one's mind, reflecting on some past event.

on industrial sleigh ride by DanGoldstein
Did you lace Santa's cookies with illicit drugs again? LOL! Is this with that gore beat you sent? Alex's comment confused me, I know of Gore metal, the idea there is to be as disgusting and shocking as possible, Cannibal Corpse is a great example of that. Nice one Dan :D
DanGoldstein
DanGoldstein replied 23rd Dec 2014 - 11 years ago
I need to listen to Cannibal Corpse. yea - I believe I shared the scratch beat with you a while back. naw - I think at some point I was trying to write something for somebody else's beat and it had the word "gore" in it, but it has nothing to do with the track really. More along the lines of lacing Santa's egg nog. thanks man.

That paulstretch is really interesting :D I use it in audacity a little. What a pleasant piece. Such wonderful things come from experimentation! Keep at it!
promenade2239
promenade2239 replied 15th May 2015 - 10 years ago
hey Burt,

firstly I am sorry for such a delay in replying on this one! Basically this piece is all about the experimentation as I can't play jazz very properly so far (being clasically trained). That stretching-time software is very cool and can really transform very common sounds into something very unique (again: I am really much more into an abstract and experimental ambient than anything which is even that close to 'horror' and movie stuff).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7qNsz6ZagA

Few weeks ago I managed to do quite weird record from the place where I live http://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/166164

I will be experimenting with field recording soon but my vision on ambient is much more abstract I guess... always focused on the sound itself. LOL

Thanks a lot for your comment,

Alex/Aleksander

on Breaking Blue L00P CHALLENGE by Spivkurl
The mad scientist does it again! :p Is that a guitar you built? There should be a Spivkurl genre on here ;) That would fix the confusion about what genre. Good one, flows along nicely and all fits together perfect :D I used a synth loop of yours on a new blues track. You should post a few to the challenge to challenge me with again :D Too much fun!
Spivkurl
Spivkurl replied 22nd Dec 2014 - 11 years ago
Hey man, thank you for the comment! It's pretty much self built, if you consider repurposing and salvaging to create something new building.. I'm still wondering that myself. It's the guitar that's still pretty much at the top of the blog http://www.wearerecords.com/spivkurl.html .... That would be pretty weird to have my own genre on looperman. People always brought up SpivStep when I was doing dubstep, but that's not very all encompassing. Glad this flowed well to your ears! Interested to hear this blues track you speak of, I'll try to find it! If I get the time this morning I'll look for some loops too. Thanks again!

Thanks for stopping in! Yeah, Shiloh has mellowed out on putting holes in my hands when I play with her, so that's comforting. Finally were able to uncover the office chair as well, since she's not as insistent on tearing it open... we bought her one of her own, so she shouldn't need to right?! Yes, coffee definitely had a part in this track, as it seems to in most everything I do. You've got the "mad" part right, maybe most mad scientists are as easily distracted as I am? I'm happy you enjoyed listening, and I appreciate the comment!

You sure you didn't work on this while sleepwalking too? hahaha That bass line is hyptnotic, going to hear that in my sleep! Industrial Blues :D That's a mix I like :p I like that effect on your voice, I'm doing a dreamy one as well (one of many projects in the works), maybe I'll use a similar effect. Even at work I'm thinking of ideas, stories, lyrics, whatever needed for my tracks :D I find it to be the best place to make up stories.

on Ghosts Of Glencloy by Orlando51
Ghosts, celtic stuff, no way I'm missing this!! :D I believe it was Ireland where they found "Deviant Burials", skeletons believed to be vampires by the unusual way they were buried/abused after death. Interesting documentary on you tube about it, the mystery of the vampire skeletons, or Strigoi. Inspired a whole project for me. I also saw a documentary about the existence of small people like fairies or lepracauhns in Ireland and the possibilty that the myths are for real, based on archaeological discoveries. Spirit world, something I'm fascinated by! Thank you for this pleasant treat Orlando and Ed, fav'd :p
