I am an old git and I remember this song well. However, what a blissful cover you have come up with. Sounds beautiful and the lady has a voice. Just a little bit stronger on the strings, not much and you've cracked it. I love this.

Mixes are such a personal choice and I do hear what you say about the strings. I just wanted to have them sitting "in" rather than "on" the track. I appreciate your comment on the "emotional" context too and I have to agree - it's a lovely vocal performance with real soul.

There was a band I went to see at The 100 Club in London called Ruthless Blues back in the late 90's and they were excellent.
Then there is this tune which, upon listening, sent me right back to that club.
This is a most enjoyable little project and thank you all for the download and listen. Truly a sound that very much captures the era and it will reside on my iPod.

Liking that stop... then quick continuation in your melody. Catching me out! Nice little tune. Loads going on behind the melody that catch the attention so as to concentrate on what's going on elsewhere in the tune while the main flow still sticks in prominently.

Makes you feel that the satellites are coming alive and expressing their disgust at the way we live. Hard beats, fantastic glitch. I can well imagine this as a backdrop to some action on a sci fi offering as the troops ready themselves to take down the satellites. In 1979 I went to a blues house in a district called Moss Side in Manchester, UK. I was 15. The atmosphere of this superb track took me right back there under age drinking and letting the bass move my chest around my torso. This is an absolute gem of a track. Release it! It is a nice hot day today and this was the tune that labelled the day. Bloody excellent. Reminds me of the old African dub I was into back then.

Ripper! It is good to visualise what you might be doing as far as automation and filter use is concerned and I like your style. Another quality track from FreeRad. Whether it is cut and paste or not, I always think it's the putting together of all the elements that is important and I certainly would be none the wiser if it wasn't mentioned that samples were used - it's all about the finished article and keeping listeners interested and you have not failed.
