on CryostaticFlux N Modnex - On fire by Modnex
This is a nice slow builder thats absolutely pummeling my speakers. There's some great melodies going on here with some ace synths and nice piano. But it's not drum and bass, I'd say this is a really good piece of electronica and i enjoyed it from start to finish.

Thanks FR! I kind of agree this does like it could fit the electronica genre better than drum n bass genre. Thanks for stopping by and dropping your two cents, always appreciated. Take care!

on Sensuality by crucethus
Well i'm no expert on chill out but i like the atmosphere's that i'm hearing here. It's very funky and sort of leftfield sounding. You do a lot of different genres well so it's no suprize that this is nothing short of brilliant. Love the pad work, it's really dreamy and flows with the funky bassline perfectly. Dig the guitarish synths in the breakdown and i'm a little jealous of your soloing skills.
An epic piece of chill out that hits all the right buttons.
Niiice!!!

on AZZYKO - IN YOUR FACE by AZZYKO
Electro? Sounds more like trance to me but it's very well done. Ah now it sounds more like electro! Dig what you've done here. As always with your productions it sounds very professional. I like the synth work and i like the in your face sample. It's all sounding very cool indeed like somewhere between trance and electro.
Very nice!

Without a doubt you do some of the best hip hop beats on this site. You've really got the art of getting those grooves to blend. I like the way it seems to slow down and then speed up again. I also like that lil vocal sample, you've used it to great effect. Those drums are pretty full on as well.
Really enjoyed this piece.

on Trap Out by ronabo
The piano in this is very nice and i like the rising synth as well. It's very laid back and the strings are nice as well. I don't know much about trap but this is sounding cool. Shame it just stopped so abruptly.

This is wicked. I like the arabian stylee so this has definitely got my vote. I like those "squelchy" noises. What did you use to make those with? You can tell that you've spent a lot of time on this because of the intricacy of it. Best trap/hip hop piece i've played today (and there's been a lot of them)
Now i'm going to play it again because i liked it so much.

On my second helping of this now and i love that lead. I have an idea for a breakbeat remix of this if you're up for it? I could jam this tune all night.

on Serenity by Livingsoulsdie
This sounds really cool. Loving the atmosphere's at the beginning and the melody is superb. Nice lazer effects and swooshing noises followed by some splendid wubbyness.
Everything about this track is excellent. the ideas are good, the mix is nice and clean and the arrangement is wicked.
Now i'm just going to kick back and listen to the rest of it.
Top tune!!

Thanks for the positive comment freeradical I'm glad you enjoyed the listen and can't wait to hear some more of your tracks. Right now I'm taking my time writing another dubstep beat that is a little more intense and sounds a little bit more like an orthodox dubstep. I will probably put that out in 2 or 3 days.

on AZZYKO - MINDBLOW by AZZYKO
Well since i've reviewed all your current tracks i thought i'd give this one another outing. I'd forgotten how much i like it. It would sound really cool if you could add a few rasta stylee vocals to it (not that it doesn't sound cool anyway) I dig the piano part the best but that's because i'm old school and i dig all the old grooves. The rest of it's pretty mega as well. I haven't got the patience to play around with synths trying to create sounds so that's a talent you should be proud of.
Very good (as i think i said before)

on Fire away - looking for a vocalist by johnnyproducing
Trying your hand at hip hop now then? Sounds cool once that popcorn synth comes in and there's some nice work with the orchestral section as well. Nice drop with the piano chords, that sounds really good and i like the heartbaeat kind of drum in the background of the drop.
This would sound great with some vox over the top.

Haha every now and then I come back to hip hop and make that or something else
but I am glad you liked it ;)

Wanted to get to a change with the piano and it gives a break from the loud bass and synth

Thanks for leaving a comment ;)

on SUBSPORT Liquid Damage Spivkurl Mix by Spivkurl
Breakbeat mayhem ahoy! I'm digging this mate. You come up with some of the best noises on the site without a doubt. I dunno how you make those synths of yours but it's a talent not to be overlooked. This is pumping mate!! A propper breakbeaty techno mash up with some really trippy synthwork going on. This would definitely get you going on the dancefloor. I like the breakdown into the reese type synth.
It's a futuristic funked up synth fest from start to finish and it's certainly got my head nodding. It's also pretty epic at just over five minutes.
Trippy and hard!!!
FR

Spivkurl replied 10th Aug 2014 - 11 years ago
Hey thanks buddy! I can't take much credit for the noises, as SUBSPORT (aka SPEX aka GoonHackz) did the main sound design on this one. Seems like so long ago, but it still has some value for sure. His stuff is always pretty heavy and hardcore, and it seems to always be what you expect, which is nice sometimes. Thanks very much for the listen!

on 8 Bit world - Remix by aelmen
This is the best 8bit chip tune i think i've ever heard. You've managed to blend those old arcade sounds perfectly with some great synth sounds. I don't know what the original sounds like but this is pretty mega. I love the soloing as well, it's very uplifting and definitely fun to listen to.
I like your style aelmen, it's quirky and a little bit different.
Great stuff.

aelmen replied 3rd Aug 2014 - 11 years ago
Yes!
Remember that it was Jeicee that made the original track and the arcade sounds is all a part of his work. I remastered the track and made room for the lead plus some minor additional sounds. Nice that you found this track as one the best chip tune you've ever heard, that's fantastic to hear and you are right, I feel like my work really is different on good and bad.

Cheers,

on Blow Your Mind by steve010101
Yeah i like it. It's like the old school trance with lots of nice whooping sounds and epic build up's. I would have liked to have heard you pick the pace up with some tops (hats and snares) but otherwise i like the vibe of it. It's got a relentless hands in the air thumping vibe to it. It just needs a few finishing touches.

on Ambivalence by Cestevens1783
Well i'm a bit thick so i don't know what ambivolence means but what i do know is that this intro sounds real nice. You have a good ear for loops as they all work niceley together. A lot of people under rate that talent, but i think it shouldn't be overlooked as it's easy to go wrong and it's also frustratingly long at times.
You must have spent some time searching for ones that fit together and you've done a grand job with this as i liked it from start to finish.
A splendid effort i'd say.

Hey dude! Shatner just posted a mixtape featuring your beats so i thought i'd stop by and see how you're doing? You don't come by here no more. What's the matter? Same as all of us probably, you know your beats are good enough but there aint no deal coming? Don't worry about it. It would be good to see you back on board fella. I was going to review your track but it's already finished so i can't be f**ked really. Just wondering what the hell's happened to Yeshintae????

on Disko Muzik by RenzWilde
I like your retro stylee and i swear it gets better with every track you produce. Nobody does retro quite like Renz Wilde and this track is a fine example of that. The bassline is wicked and the ARP's a cool. Nice touch with the vocoded "music" sample with some cool lazer drums as well. Loving the drum loops as well, those tops are wicked.
Another cool track from you.

Wow, you make me blush FR, haha. I think i'm starting to realize what kind of tracks I want to produce. I realize the production is exactly hi-fi, but I'm getting a better idea of what kind of music and sound I am going for. I'm embracing the retro, lo-fi sound and leaning towards minimal, groove based rhythms. Thats what I hear in my head anyways, LOL

Thx again for the comments FR. I think you know how I appreciate your input.

on New Years Eve - The 2014 Version by aelmen
Well chill out aint really my area but i see this has recieved quite a lot of attention already. It's easy to see why as were straight in with some nice soloing. Are those synths or is that a real sax? It sounds very authentic and i need to get me one of those. This is really great, there's no two bars the same and i like the retro feeling of the backing track.
I really enjoyed this piece of tunage!!

on Session in Trance by GalaXProject
Nice banging intro followed by some spacey synth sounds. There's some good harmonies going on here and the vibe is good. Like the brakdown with the woo woo woo sound. Yeah this is a pretty trippy track and a good piece of trance. It could use a little bit of level adjustment here and there but aside from that minor detail it's a good track.

on Witches Pharmacy by Cyberliam
Thats some nice trippy squared, wobbly bass going on in the intro. What did you make that with? I see you've reverted back to your zombies in a graveyard kind of sound. This is pretty twisted with all the crying noises or what have you. That piano lick was pretty insane as well. This could be used as a backdrop for a game like doom or something.
Good stuff mate.

on Step Bruhs God Damn Chan Edit by RiceChrisB
Nice phat bassline and good melody. I liked the cut up crowd effects as well. The samples are cool and the beat kicks. Nice change of melody at 1:50 and sweetly juggled between the two parts. I'd like to hear someone spit some lyrics over the top of it.
Very nicely done.

on Naxos - GeorgeGavoyannis by georgegavoyannis
This is pretty good, you've got the melodies sorted out and it sounds nice and clean but the kick is a little too far at the back of the track. I like the whooshing stab noises and it's got a great summer time feel to it.
I enjoyed the track, just bring the drums forward in the mix.

Well it does definitely have a 60's vibe to it and the mixdown is nice and clear. I can't say as i've ever played a tune like this and i'm 39 so i must be missing something lol.
Anyway, i like the style of it and particularly the sax soloing.
This was a good listen and a very enjoyable piece.

Thanks allot, FR. I'm surprised you never played songs of this style before. It's kind of that, "House of the Rising Sun" type vibe which I think everyone has played at one time or another, but maybe I'm wrong.

Nice melody going on here, sounds like it's going to be a slow builder with some nice sidechained synth work going on (I can never get that effect to sound good)It does have quite an old school flow to it which i always like. Old school is the best. I definitely need to play this again on a decent sound system but it still sounds good on my lap top speakers.
