on Seplicate V2 by Spivkurl
Spivs having a run of tunes ending in "ate" huh? Like those squelchy synths, what is that sound? Love the way it sort of swaps from tech house to house. Nice touch with the vocals. It's a pretty complex track with lots of layers and switches that keep it interesting (not like my repetative drivel)
What i love about your stuff is you never know what you're going to get and this is a pretty complicated sounding piece. It must have taken you a while to put this together.
Good stuff.

Heh, leave it up to you to notice the title thing! After searching a little, I don't think this is a word yet! I guess I'm not sure which sound you mean by "squelchy synths"... do you mean the higher frequency acid sort of bass sound? If that's the one you mean, that's a patch I set up on Fabfilter One, which I must say is a pretty high quality sounding synth. Kind of heavy on the CPU, but worth it I think. I really don't know a lot about house, just trying to do my own version of it I suppose. I think it is pretty complicated, because I kept crashing the DAW with this one, like every time I tried to render a new mix or whatever. By mastering time my CPU was at 99%. I'm going to add some things to make this better soon, and maybe redo the effects a little, because theres some things about it that bother me. I like taking people off guard with my songs, so I'm glad you like that too! Mostly done in two days, with a little more mastering work on a third. Partly because of the crashes, and partly because of the effects bothering me. Thanks much for taking a listen!

on Dreaming In Blue by Orlando51
Cool intro, reminds me a little of Pink Floyd. Now the guitar starts and in with the beat. Yeah man this is slow and funky.
Really good collaberation you've done here. The two styles mix really well. Ed's guitar and your piano make a splendid combination, the clarity is superb and you've hit this one out the park. I'm becoming quite a fan of yours Orlando.

Well...that intro...while it's not among my best, it was still
just good enough to keep it in, and yeah, maybe it is a bit floydish. Overall it turned out quite nicely, although there were many other alternatives in question, but here is the version I decided on...so be it.:)
About becoming my fan...ughhh...this is almost scary thought to me...ofcourse it's nice to have that kind of following, but on the other hand it brings some kind of responsibility with it and sort of burden of pressure not to disappoint.:)

Anyways, many thanks again for your positive comment and support...

With much appreciation_____Orlando

Yeah this is cool. It's like a medley of different tracks. You're good at this electro house malarkey.
I enjoyed all four and a half minutes of it.

Nice intro, reminds me of "a forest" by the Cure (one of my all time favourite cure tracks) Oddly enough i've been working on a version of that but so far i'm thinking yours is much better. I got to get me that synth that you use. It's got some pretty wicked sounds on it.
Enjoyed listening to this piece. Especially the key change bit, that was a pretty interesting move.

Well I took a listen to "a forest" and it indeed has a bit of that feel, not fully but I can see what you mean.
Haha well I don't remember what I used for this anymore, could have well been sytrus in some parts hahaha. Anyways thanks ;) Glad you liked the song further

on Nightr8 - Renz Wilde Remix by RenzWilde
Well since i've reviewed all three of your tracks i thought i'd review this one again as i haven't heard much of this song on the site much these days.
I think you're quite audatious to take on a remix so early in your looperman career. And as i said before it's a good effort and well mixed.
I might even add a bit more to my nitrate remix now.

Thanx FR...I think.

au·da·cious

1. showing a willingness to take surprisingly bold risks.

2. showing an impudent lack of respect.

I'm pretty sure from your encouragement and positive feedback since I've been here that you meant audacious as in bold. If for some reason you meant that I was showing a lack of respect, you couldn't be more wrong. I privately messaged Spiv from the beginning and let him know what I was doing and he enthusiastically gave me the green light. He'll confirm that if you ask him.

Plus, we still gotta plan that Looperman festival in India, remember? Does August work for you? That should be plenty of time to organize everything

Been hearing so many remixes of this this week i thought i'd drop by and remind myself of how the original went.
This track is becoming legendary. It's great.

Thanks for the return visit! I learned from ipods mainly, not to overlilsten to things... it can ruin them for long periods of time. That's part of why I'm trying to shift gears now. Appreciate you support and friendship!

I'll have to listen to this properly tomorrow as i'm on the lap top speaker. Sounding pretty good so far. Like the way you used the vocoded nitrate as an instrument. It's definitely interesting hearing different peoples mixes of it and seeing how different they turned out. (i think this is about the fourth version i've heard today)
Good job with the remix.

This is really chilled man. Like the vocal you used, niceley chopped up and blended in.
I'd like to hear someone spit a few verses over the top of it.
I liked the flange effect transition half way through and i like the way you've arranged it.
Did you get that vocal from here?
Good stuff Benjizo.

on Need it work by ElenaSatine
Can't help out with the singing as i sound terrible but what i can say is that this is a nice pop arrangment. It's very bubbly and bouncy once you get past the intro. Like the way you carried the piano theme through the track and it's a good mix.
Also dig that saxophone.
Nice track.

on Spivkurl - Nightr8 Knnetic Remix by Yerite
Well i haven't heard this before lol. Just thought i'd tune in and see what you did with it. Like the looping of the electronic Niiitraaate. You know i say i haven't heard this before but it's incredible how many different takes there are on it. This is actually really cool and i like it. Those wobbly basses and breakdowns are excellent. You've really given it your own personal touch.
I enjoyed this version.

on Stillness Touched Me by AviatOfficial
Yeah, sweet track mate. Nice progression with the pads and synths. The lead is nice as well. Those rising pads are what really makes the tune though. It's got a real old school vibe to it which i always like.
Perhaps it would benefit from a vocal sample here and there but other than that it's a pretty solid track.
Cheers for sharing,

And here we go again with another Nitr8 remix, This is getting out of hand now lol.
Like what you've done with the loops, Lots of cutting and pasting going on here. It's an interesting version and you've certainly added your own personal touch to it.
I should be sick of this tune by now but it never fails to get me.
Good work.

on - Survivors - by Anubis
Hey Spivkurl, Really nice track! (I'm just taking the p*ss now)
Seriously, what an intro, Those drums are pretty spectacular.
It's like a war kind of them or something. I can just imagine two armies meeting on the battlefiels ready to slice each other to pieces with this playing in the background. Do you do those drums live or are they from packs? Sounds very authentic.
Really enjoyed listening to this.

Hi nitr8 remix

thanks for the positive words.

these drums are all virtual, good tools. [in Fl studio I use a lot the "Soundgoodizer"
tool that can make a shift in Eq]

basically equalization is an item that transforms the quality of music.

thank you for supporting this insane thought that is the feeling of the music.

your words are appreciated.

on I Can See Your Eyes - Indian Mix by clindsay
Love the ethnic theme of this. That sitar intro is great, as is the vocal work. It's like ravi shankar on acid, the way it changes to electronic is great and so are the atmospheres and drums.
Loving the breakdown with the wind instruments and the tabla drums. Nice change at 2.34, very uplifting and nice transition, You managed to change the vibe without straying to far off the original riff.
Really enjoyed listening to this track.

Thanks FR for your analysis and kind words. I like the Ravi Shankar on acid comment. I cram a lot of ideas into this one which kind of holds together but very tenuously. Again, thanks for listening and commenting.

on trance cosmos by smallpaul
Taking a trip back in time to 2009. Sounding good on my headphones, never mind 2009 this is taking me back to 1997 which was a dam good time of my life. Went raving a lot back then to stuff like this and i still love this kind of stuff now. The piano licks and synths are excellent. It's a little bit Paul Van Dyke (when he's having one of his less chessy moments)
Top piece of trance.

on Rick Cardo Remix of Sebastian Ingrosso - Reload by RickCardo
Sounds really cool so far. The mix is nice and clean, the riff is catchy and the sound quality is good. I'm not familiar with the original but you've done a good job with this.
I'd bring the vocal down a notch or two though as it does overpower the music a little in places.
Other than that minor gripe this is really good.

This is pretty cool once it gets going. It's not that easy to find loops that link up with one another and you've done a good job here of sticking them together. It does switch rather abruptly at times but on the whole i enjoyed listening to this piece.

Your stuff sounds well retro. It takes me back to when the original nintendo was all the rage. Very arcade game orintated but it's also a little bit techno and twisted as well.
We like a bit of different round here so well done on a break from the norm, Like the way the guitar comes in at the end as well.
Well done.
