on AZZYKO - BD by AZZYKO
I dig what you've done with the vocals. I've been trying to make a bit of dubstep so i can appreciate how tough it is trying to get the synths to sound the way you want. This is pretty f***ed up stuff with all sorts of mad synths going on. You sure know what you're doing with with dubstep malarkey.
I enjoyed listening to this track.

Thanks for listening, great this track left effect on you. Yes - it's really hard to produce quality dubstep, so sometimes (when I make it) it takes 2-3 months. Ty for leaving comment :)

YEAH! I love a bit of headbanging music! Takes me back to my youth when i used to mosh myself stupid to this kind of stuff. Sounds very professional. Reminds me a little of "Death". Heavy metal isn't the easiest music to make on a DAW so i congratulate you for putting together a piece that sounds really authentic. Best metal tune i've heard on this site for ages.

You've done a good job with the acapella. The keyboard sound reminds me a little of an old super tramp record. I like the change at 1:50, that was a nice touch.
Sounding pretty good.

on Modnex - Sunny Life by Modnex
116 downloads kind of speaks for its self really. Do i really need to add any more? Well i will anyway......This has again got great melodies to it. I can see that you wanted to do a more popish kind of flavour but yeah, it sounds a bit like something Jimmy van m might spin.
Really enjoyed this track.

Thanks man! I never heard of Jimmy van m, but I'll be sure to check him out. This is probably by far, my best track. Never was able to come up with anything as good as this (imo), after this. Guess we all have those kind of moments. Thanks for stopping by, take care!

I dig the lead melodies in this. It doesn't sound like you have any problems getting good sounds out of your synthesisers. This is an interesting piece that doesn't seem to slot into any particular genre. The piano sounds nice as does the bass. I like the way you concentrated on the melody rather than the beat.
Sounds great.

Thanks Fr! The melodies of the track are always the easiest for me. Guess it's my best skill when it comes to making songs. I do however, always have a problem with the intro, as it always takes me the longest to finish. Thanks for stopping by and for the kind words, much appreciated! :)

on Peace On Earth by Mosaic
Nice intro with the sampling and break beats. This is already an improvement on your last D&B track. I like the riffs and i like the atmosphere. How do we have peace on earth? Well getting rid of the bankers would be a good start. I like the way you've kept it pretty minimal and the beats are great.
You've done a cracking job here mate. This is a really nice track to wake up to.

Hey friend

Thank you for being the first to review this one, pleased you enjoyed track, yep that is the question how do we get peace on earth? would be nice to have peace, guessing this track isn't going to be everybody's cup of tea so to speak but hey I like to be different lol, wanted a more ambient type of DnB something to make you think while listening to it...Again thank you matey...Peace n Respect FR...Mosaic...

on Peril - Subconscious Realms - CLIP by SUDDENSHIFTOFFICIAL
I'm trying to learn how to make this dubstep and it's not easy so i've suddenly developed appreciation for it. It's intricate with tricky synthesis so i've got a lot more time for it now. Like those samples that create the background and the intro as a whole is pretty twisted. It's gone a bit more mellow nowband i like the drop.
It's only a short piece but you've created 2 and a half minutes of interesting stuff.

Yeah I've really started to become obsessed with weird atmospheric music, I first got interested in it after listening to "Culprate - Purple (Nebula)" Probably one of the weirdest tracks I've ever heard, his album "Colours" is an outstanding source of inspiration. And I get alot of inspiration from "Jub Dubs" & "AR - the bushmaster" for my beats, fx, eq'ing and arrangements. The 16th and 32nd bar are my favorites because if you give the track room to breathe there anything can happen, and the manipulation of samples is very important to get those intricate detailed parts in the back by stretching, pogo'ing, cross fading and most importantly chopping. I ussually make my own soundscape or pad in massive export it as a wave, re - import it, duplicate it and manipulate them all differantly before chopping and arranging, it takes alot of time but when you get to the arranging part it's so much fun :P

Nice vocal slices & ambient eefects at the beginning. Dig that vibraphone as well. Nice chill out track.

What's this track swapping business going on here then? I refresh my browser and it's a different tune lol. Thought i'd stop by for another one because it's all rock and r&b round here just lateley.
This is deep man. It makes me want to plot up in a dark room and do my pac man impression by eating a few power pills and then getting chased by ghosts (which probably sounds like absolute nonsense)
Digging the simplicity of this, I can never stick with one riff for long enough to do this kind of stuff. Again it was a great listen.

on Lets Make Android Babys by visionarysoundsystem
We like a bit of sub bass round here so this tunes going down well. I love the little samples and the minimalistic approach. Kind of makes me think i should go back to doing techno for a while. It's a dying breed on this site at the moment so cheers for flying the flag for those of us who "get it".
Really enjoyed this little number.

on There U Were by TuneDef
I like your lyrics and i like the track but the clarity of the mic is a little overbearing. Have you tried putting a screen up in front of it when you sing? It kills off all those dynamics that you don't want such as the proximity effect (when you say p's & s's)
You clearly have talent and it's a shame to have unwanted mic effects spoiling the track.
Anyway, aside from that i enjoyed the track so thumbs up.

on Your Time Will Come by Diskonnect
Pretty epic intro. I like the sounds that i'm hearing and it's making me think i gotta get another copy of ableton as i always like what i hear when i play stuff made in that DAW. Really good synth leads, heavy basses and great melodies. You definitely gotta get this on your work computer!
Great stuff EB.

Diskonnect replied 6th Jun 2014 - 11 years ago
Thanks dude, Im glad you liked the intro. Ableton is a great program but of course most of the sounds come from the array of plugins I use. I would highly recommend getting some native instruments stuff as it is fairly simple to use and sounds great too! And I got Ableton installed on the laptop as i managed to get administrator privileges, yay!!

on Forks And Knives by RealProblemShuckers
I like the sampling. For a minute i thought one of those bloody ad's had opened up somewhere lol. Now it's all gone a bit dub stepish & then old school for a bit before back to dubstep again. There's good elements in this piece but it definitely fits well into the weird genre. I definitely prefer the one your plugging at the moment but it still has good elements to it.

This is cool mate. Very retro sounding indeed. I could be back in 1982 (wish i was, life was easier then!)
Great combination of synth sounds. You can tell that you like Kraftwerk and bands like that.
The vocal sampling was cool and i reckon this is the best track of yours i've heard yet.

Thanx FR. I find the 80's pop synth sound fun. Simple, maybe cheesy but fun. And I connect to that sound.

I like a lot of different albums but the first time I heard The Man- Machine by Kraftwerk absolutely knocked me out. Not trying to imitate them but highly influenced by them.

on the enormous cost of unchecked ambition by drmistersir
This is trippy, it kind of sounds like a d&b tunes that's hiding behind the industrial. It's pretty manic. I like the guitars and the vibe of the track. The sampling is good as well.
Just a little too short.

on A Nostalgic Sound by RealProblemShuckers
I always enjoy a good bit of square bass and you've complimented it well with that synth. I like the bit where it breaks down to the piano, that sounds well old school and we like a bit of that round here. I also like the sneaky drum rolls as well.
Good work. Keep it up.

on The Hypnotist - Miracles by Indozizz
Nice trance number with good progression and arps. The kick is hardly audible though so i'm guessing you used headphones? Or did you do that on purpose? Still the melodies are really nice as are the pads. Nice melodic breakdown and i like the arrangement.
Excellent melodies as a said before but the kick needs turning up. Thats all you have to do.

on That Whiskey Diet by topvega
I seem to be having the opposite problem to you. Signed off work with far too much time and not enough money. Anyway, this is sounding like a solid bit of rock music. It doesn't matter that theres no lead because the rhythm is fat. Niceley blended with the bass and the drums which are also very good.
You should tell UPS to stick it and make more tunes because i for one am enjoying your style.
FR
topvega
topvega replied 2nd Jun 2014 - 11 years ago
Right on Bro...I would love to tell UPS to stick it. If it was a 9 to 5 job I could tolerate it, but they force the OT down your throat. I agree most of the song holds up without a lead guitar. A couple parts need something. Either a tasty guitar lick or an Organ/Keyboard. Appreciate you giving it a listen and leaving some feedback.

on mini mix by smallpaul
Thought i'd give this another outing as i haven't heard it for a while. Who says limited to one comment each huh. I do really like this because it doesn't sound like mario on ketamine.
It was quite a bold move releasing this amongst a barrage of Nitr8 remixes. I really like the soft synth sounds you use as i seem to have very little of those in my arsenal. I think my favourite part is the last bit with the old school vibe and the vocals. The trouble with making tracks so long is that i wonder if anyone actually bothers listening to the end. I've had a few comments where people have said they liked both the tracks when there were three but hey ho.
At least they weren't indian robots. Niiice trumpet!

Smooth grooves coming at ya from tunedef. I've listened to a few of your tracks now and you sure know how to nail the R&B genre. That piano lick is excellent and you've done wonders with the vocal work. It makes me wish my singing didn't sound like sean ryder from the happy mondays (at best)
Really enjoyed this piece.

on Dat Bass Tho by RealProblemShuckers
56 plays and nobody bothered to comment. I get p*ssed when i see that. This is a good track, that bassline is fat and progresses niceley through the track. Nice piano leads and good use of harmonisation, I like the beats and the synth has a kind of chinese feel to it. The transitions are good and i'd say this is a good track. Don't understand why it got such little attention. But i guess thats looperman for ya.
Cheers for sharing.

And we're niceley in with the piano lick. It's got a tropical vibe to it. Nice sunny and uplifting. That brass sounds really authentic. Is that a synth or do you play it your self with instruments? I have to say i'm very impressed with this. It's a splendid arrangement and everything about it shines.
Great piece.
