good use of the vocal, like the way it builds up as it progresses. It could use a few extra layers or something as it does just do the same thing pretty much all the way through, but on the whole i enjoyed the track.

on Evolution by Diskonnect
The intro is nice but i definitely prefer the second part. Reminds me off an old kung fu movie or something.
Like the vocals and you're right, it's not what i expected from a dub step tune (not a wub in sight)
I enjoyed listening to this track.

Hey dude, thanks for the comment. Yeah I suppose it does have that kinda vibe to it, I'm glad you liked my wubless dubstep tune! :)

on Boss Battle Demo by Anubis
I know it's not the way it was intended but i'm picturing this playing as i kick my bosses ass from work round the office. In fact, i might record it, take a portable stereo to work, put it on and open up a can of whip ass on the smug git.
Anyway, splendidly crafted piece of music, great energy and lots of suspense, It builds brilliantly and i love those big gong crashed. Your seriously good at this orchestral, atmospheric kind of stuff.
Well done.

well! this piece became very good, I used great tools that help a lot.
Brass, big drums, very good materials.

I'm a big fan of gongs, I use a lot in my songs!

thank you very much for taking the time to listen to this piece, and leave your words here.

on Nightr8 - Renz Wilde Remix by RenzWilde
I've done a remix of this as well so i'm interested to see how different everyones takes on it are. Really liking it so far and i see from your profile your relatively new to this music making malarkey. You've done a good job with this, taking all the elements of the original and mashing them up into your own style.
You've done a good job here.

on when U laugh by deciBel
This track has a really nice live vibe to it. The mandolin is great and i dig the percussion. I like the way you did the pitch shift before bringing the piano back in. The violins are nice but i have to say it ended quite abruptly, so perhaps it would benefit from a fade rather than just stopping dead as it does.
All the same i enjoyed this track Behnam and i will for sure be back for more.

on No More Lies - Larry Wiggles aka Mark Jeffries by larrywiggles1
Yeah it sucks when you lose your tunes. I think i'm on lap top number 4 now and half the tunes on my profile are unrecoverable.
Liking the acid house injection in this track. It's pretty good when it gets going but it's not as good as the last one i played of yours.
Still a pleasant listen though.

Hi FR,

I tended to save tracks randomly as MP3's but never backed up the WAV files. This track was one I was going to work on a lot more, lost the main files and there it lay as an MP3, finished but not finished, so I know where you are coming from...and maybe I should have left it alone gathering dust!! Thanks anyway for your much appreciated comments.

Best wishes,

Mark/Larry!

this is really good, love the vocal work. The piano and the synths all compliment each other very niceley.
Is that vocal from this site? If so i'd like to have a go with that.
Truly excellent tune.
I'm glad i dropped in.

Hi FR,

A real big thanks for the listen, but more importantly your great comments, the vocals came from the fabulous and exceptionally cheap eJay dance 6, just an awesome source of loops. Thanks as always for your honest comments.

Best wishes,

Mark/Larry!

So i hit the random button and i'm timewarped back to 2007. That was a good year for me and this track is excellent. Love the combination of guitars and pads. Everything compliments each other beautifully with a rich clean sound. Sounds just like something off one of the cafe del mar albums.
It may have been seven years ago you posted this but it's still worth commenting on.
Really dig this track.

on Modern India by RealProblemShuckers
I think the intro could use a little something but once it gets going it's a good track. Like the way it breaks down into a house bass and then that old school hardcore sound comes in. But i think the other reviewer is right, if you put a bit of reverb on the sitar or a short delay it would make the intro better.
On the whole it's a good track but sort that intro out and make it a GREAT track.

Well i hit the random button and it brought me to your page so i thought i'd review your track. This is a hot piece of punk music. Beautifully played, nice arrangement and well mixed down. It would be even better if you could find someone to spit a few lyrics but other than that minor gripe (which isn't even really a gripe) This is wicked.
Well done.

on 1st attempt at hardstyle beat by emit
Well for a first attempt it has some good elements but one minute it's acoustic, the next minute it's techno and then, well i don't know what. You need to decide what your tracks going to be and stick to that genre.

on People In My Way by theHumps
This is great. Am i sensing an influence of velvet underground in this piece. The lyrics are great. I often get that feeling that some people are put on this earth for the sole purpose of pissing you off, so i couldn't agree more with the point of the track.
The only annoyance is that it's too short man. You could have at least got away with another couple of minutes of that.
Top tune. I'm going to download this and put it on a compilation CD for my mate, He's really in to this kind of thing so i'm sure he'll like this one.

It has a bit of Lou Reed in it I suppose. I had so much fun writing the lyrics. When I first played it to my friend who is into punk music he loved the words, they were meant to have some humor to them and he was laughing out loud. Kinda weird that I took it as a compliment as he was laughing at my song but I guess that's what I had intended all along.

Glad you liked it, one of the first songs I posted here. It's short, punk should be short I think. I just say hit the play button again, lol.

Thanks!

So i cliked the random button and it brings me back to 2010.
This is an excellent pop song. Reminds me a little of Newton Falkner.
It's really well written, It's well produced and mixed.
You can certainly sing.
I'm glad that i've been time warped to this track because it's great. It builds niceley and whatever you do, don't give up.

So i hit the random button and it transports me back here to 2011.
This is pretty darn cool, It's hectic it's well mixed, love the use of effects and vocals.
Sick changes and bassline.
This track rocks, you've done wonders with that accapella.

This is nice. All the harmonies done by vocal alone. It must have taken a while to layer all those vocals down like that.
Whoah! I don't know if i've just suddenly learned how to understand French, or did you switch to English towards the end?
It's a nice piece. Kind of reminds me of what the flying pickets did (I bet you have no idea who they were? lol)
Good to see you posting new stuff anyhow.
This was nice to wake up to this morning.

Well i pressed the random button and it brought me to this track and what a gem it is. Definitely too good to be buried in the looperman archives.
Thought i'd leave a few comments. You did this with loops? Sounds authentic to me. That solo guitar is excellent and i'm only dissapointed that i;m still typing and it's finished.

Hmmm, not sure about the intro (it's a bit too twisted sounding) but when this picks up it's having it!!! Love that guitar lick and the fast drum pattern. I'd definitely say that this was break beat but i think it would sound better without the kid samples in it. They sound out of place and kind of spoil it for me.
Other than that i think this is a hot track.

on Daydream by DESTERO
This is a nice acoustic piece. The loops seem to blend together niceley and your guitar rocks as well.
I have to say this is not what i was expecting, It's not that easy to cobble together loops that work. It can take hours to find two that go together and the fact that you play over the top makes me somewhat envious. I have a guitar that i NEVER play anymore and when i hear pieces like this it makes me think i should dig it out and practice some more.
Cheers for sharing your tunes.

Well the random button just brought me to this track. I'm glad it did, this is excellent. I don't know how this track managed to slip by unnoticed.
Love the sounds you've thrown togw=ether here. Sounds more like dub step to me than industrial but this track is mental.
I love it.

Nice atmosphere. This is the kind of music i want to hear when i'm sitting by the beach, checking out the local talent with a beer in my hand. This is really chilled out and also very good.
Your atmospheres are superbly crafted and those swirling pads are really uplifting. Nice key changes and arpegios.
I'd say you made a dam fine track here sir.

This is very imaginitive. I'm no expert on orchestral music but this sounds very authentic. It would be an excellent backdrop for a Napoleonic battle scene or something.
It's very well arranged and mixed down beatifully.
Great effort that just builds and builds to a fantastic climax.
If i'd have made this i'd be feeling very proud of myself (but i didn't, so i don't)

This is a nice soft piece. Loved the intro and nice cinematic breakdown with thunder effects. This would be great as a backdrop to an adventure video game.
It's cleanly produced and well thought out, all the sounds compliment each other beautifully and this was a real pleasure to listen to.
Thanks for sharing.

This is something a little bit different and quite often that means crap. But in this case you've pulled it off well.
The orchestral pieces are great with plenty of asmosphere. Not sure about that scratching sound though, that seemed a little out of place but the rest of it is darn good.
Well done.
FR
Billydragon1
Billydragon1 replied 23rd May 2014 - 11 years ago
Thanks Fr. It is different for me anyway. The temptation was to fill every space with sound but I refrained from that. The scratch was there as a link sound from bridges to verse, rather than using a fading in 'whoosh' sound thing. But it's good as it is, for me anyway. Sweet as brother!

This is great once it gets going, The intro was nice but when the beat kicks in it yeally gets you up and moving.

It's very contemporary and i like the way it comes in little bursts of various instruments.

The vocal is great. Is that from this site?

The Bass is insane, the guitar is funky and i even noticed a little bit of acid synth going on from time to time, the sax is superb and the whole arrangement is just superb.

Really enjoyed your piece.
