Woop, woop. Umm, I think that's how it's spelled (either that or I just gave the mating call of the dork muppets, ?, hahaha). Anyways, I hardly use Fl. Well, to date, atleast. So I really love hearing stuff like this, because right now I'm discecting every single bit of this.
Very unusual arrangment, but as ya said above. In that case, you made 'em fit together decently (with or without hammer, haha). You've brought a new definition to 'Bangin out a tune'. I'm gonna haveta say that my fav part of this is the alarms at the beginning and the drum build when they were still playin. The two different basses ya used make it seem more like a mix session then a sequence lay-out. Craziness man. Later on!
Ya it's a bit strange i wanted it to be like a sound demonstration not mash-up..So i just brought stuff in and out swiftly. I like my basses here except for the throat-cleaning-sound-alike lol
The Honking style of the main bass. The synths leave so much open for a DJ who'd be mixing this into their set. Then the second round of synths starts and brushes everything else to the side. You used one of my favorite drums patterns on this BTW- the Boom-tis-tah-tis. Thanks for sharing mate. Later on!
Podcasts and streaming radio the best for deriving creative inspiration? I thank Di.fm for bringing me closer to Trance music and that's where the initial spark came from years back from listening to their Goa-Psy channel.
The melody on this is crisp, like the air on a cold night. The kind of night where the pressure is so low you can actually smell pure clean air. I like the transition ya threw in there near the end. Ever think of adding vocals to this? Thanks for sharing mate. Later on!
Salami & Grilled Onions for you, sir! Haha, sorry. The dbl post above got me to thinkin silly. And then of food, and then what'd it'd be like to be a waiter, hmm?
Anyways, I'm diggin the slowness of the lead keys on this and the classic usage of bass was a nice touch. What'd ya use for the leads mate (if it's cool to ask)? Coz they're soundin real nice. Like a mix between bells and string plucks. The pads are subdued and airy- the way good Trance is made.
As for name comparisons... Tiesto's cool, but this reminds me more of BT (irony not intended) on some of the stuff he's scored before. You've done an excellent job on this mate. Thanks for sharing & submitting to the comp. Good evenly stacked odds all around from what I've heard. Later on!
PS. How's the weather up there
tonight? It's droppin down into
the 20's here in Northern Fl.
The Ericsson a cell phone? I'm not that tech-savy these days so I'm just throwin out what I believe it is. Anyways, if it is this is pretty bangin.
And the key leads of the synth kinda remind me of Eiffel 65's style on some of their songs. Then the second set of leads comes on and it starts sounding like... Umm... I dunno who, but stuff similar to what's heard on those Ibiza compilation albums. You did so much to this it hardly even sounds like it's Midi. Top-notch productions mate, top-notch. Later on!
Has kind of an upbeat Bluesy sound at the beginning. The beat was cool and the synth ya used (along with the transitions) at half-way are great. Thanks for sharing. Later on!
Remember that one track ya did with the crazy vocals ya did (using that poem). Can't remember the name now, but those vox stay with ya.
I love the wow-wow bass sound ya used on this. And the keys are on par with yer cool style. Gotta question though- have ya ever thought about layering 'em out slightly staggered to give 'em a faster, more active feel? Kinda like the way you got the other leads on this (or the notes of Flight of the Bubblebee).
Great usage of vocal samples there. And am I mistaken or was that John Travolta from one of his older films? Thanks for sharing mate. Lates!
My pod? I'll mind if you don't mention my unmentionables mate...
Hahaha. Sorry about that man, couldn't resist.
Okay, I pressed replay because for some odd reason this is soundin all funky (no pun intended). Yeah, it sounds like it's being played underwater or out of a speaker that's been stomped on. It's kind of distracting.
What bitrate did ya upload this at? Coz I know that when ya drop down to 80 K the stuff starts sounding all jacked up.
Pushing past that I'm lovin her vocals and this track has an Oldies vibe all about it. I could really see this being played on one of those stations. During the mid or late 60's mix (they tend to play around lunchtime). Very groovin dude. Just wished it was playin right so I could get the whole feel for it. Later on!
Nice broken rising intro mate. The person singing kinda reminds me of Anne Lennox (but with a bit of Rod Stewart rasp, so I'm not gonna say she when it's a he or what have you). And...
Blow, man, blow!
That was an awesome little side-play yall threw out there. Then receeding back into line of the melody from before. Odd lil random side note- I've found that the best way to avoid breaking promises is to not make 'em at all. Kinda hard to let people down when there are no obligations or expectations.
(returns to couch and goes back to sleep)...
Thanks for sharing. Later on!
The drums and synth sequence ya used (fading in about 0:25) are definately HH. The intro synth is a bit different, but it's nice because it gives this track a different flavor. So far I'm thinkin that this track is more Trip-hop than Hip-hop, but who cares.
Oh, and if you haven't check out that genre before I highly recommend it, because I think you'll really be fascinated by it. You are well on your way to creating HH stuff mate. Lates!
I LOVE the PERCS on this! They lifted above the rest while I was at the other side of the House and I hadta pause while I was refilling my Cat's water bowl to see what I was hearing. The bass is pretty cool too. Sounds like there are 2 or 3 changes (?). From the half that I've really heard. I'll replay, hold 1...
The pads & synths at the beginning take me back and are showing me ornate fountains for some reason or another. Ofcourse, you've gotten to see a buncha cool historic stuff coming from your region (slightly envious here). I also like the reverse crash (?) ya used a little before the 2 minute mark. Another cool composition. Thanks for sharing mate!
Hey thx, I like your reviews lol
The point is that i had no intention of making smth particular. It was like I will make a song with a smooth synth. Pianos, ok. Melodies melodies . Let's go nuts reverse the notes. naah change synth. ooo i got it. LOL
Yea I saw some historic stuff but I can swear that i didnt get influenced by em. haha
cya
Heard this before. Isn't this from Fl Studios? Cool mix here and I'm glad to hear that someone else has messed with the demos from it. I used Scott Fisher's track on one of my mash-ups. And if you're into mixing stuff (have the demo of Deck-a-Dance and like it) there's a program called MixStation made by Ejay (a pair of virtual DJ decks) that ya might wanna check out. Thanks for sharing this!
Vocos. It's so refreshing to hear the lighter side of hiphop. This is takin me back to the days where it was all about chillin and partyin. Prech that. You gonna make a longer version of this, maybe? Later on!
Happen to ever hear the intro to the original Injected With a Poison by Praga Khan? The pads on this reminded me of it. Then it progresses into a landscape painted on the canvas of dreams. The aimless travelling ones. Moving through a field or is it a large room covered with greenish-brown carpet? Are you coming or going and where? Very soothing mate. Later on!
no i didn't actually!
i love your description of how you encountered this tune! love it, you make it sound so beautiful, you should be an author if you aren't already :) LOL.
coming or going??? hmmmmm not sure what you mean! but what the hell ill say im coming ;)
You reminded me. I seriously need new speakers. The one's I got now are beginning to skirt the ragged edge of crappin out. You know what set-up I'd love to have? A 2/4 (or 6) assemblage. 2 subs (10") with 4 or 6 tweets (6"). Kinda like the way some people have their cars.
Anywho, this is a pretty intense track. Very high energy that I could see glow-sticker kids goin crazy over (I'd be there too, with my little LED lights twirlin up a storm). The See-&-Say (atleast, I think that's the name of the toy) vox ya used were killer. The other vox kinda remind me of the stuff The Porn Kings used on their album 'Up To No Good' (absolutely great CD that I highly recommend ya check out). Thanks for sharing this mate. Later on!
ive jus gotta pair of M-AUDIO BX5a's for £150, active monitors and there beautys,, alot of the feedback ive had has been mix issues and after listening back to old tunes i can see wot was being said by peps, which i couldnt hear on my old speakers that were mid/high without ant bottom end at all so made all the mid/high freqs stand out nice and clear to me but sounded muggy and the bass freqs were overbearing to others, but with these new monitors i can sort that out so you can actually hear all the freqs of the trak stand out, ive been itching to get some for ages now and am glad i made the investment as it could save me alot of time in the long run, but always went out and got like MIDI controllers etc, when i probaly should of got the monitors, but when i started gettin reviews on here i saw the need to do so more as it wasnt jus me or my mates listening to the traks, so i would invest in some cuz its not like it one of those things you jus want, but essential in mastering your mastering and getting your traks spot on...glad you liked the trak and i will try to check that porn kings albulm out cuz ive never heard of them
That show a couple of times and someplace I saw the movie on TV. So I went out and got it. It's pretty cool if ya haven't seen it. This track immediately takes me to that scene in the movie where they are flying through Reaver space. Can't decide whether they are going to or leaving Miranda, but just the picture of Serenity flying past all of those mangled space crafts won't leave my mind. Wait, no, I see that other scene where the crew is nervously waiting on their ship while the other scans them on the way to the planet. Pretty creepy place to be, stuck on a floating can surrounded my the vacuum of space and insane cannibals (with laser cannons). I wouldn't wanna be there, no sir!
I'm lovin the drums, even though they kinda have a different vibe to 'em that's makin me think of the big space battle near the end. Where the agent says- "He's not even changing course...". Great job at capturing the essence of those baddies. Later on!
For links is- *a href="URL" target=_blank* (by default to open in a new window, but you can enter 'self' to have it open on the same page). Enter name (like 'Vigor Blitz video'). */a*. Replace the asterix's with '>' at the end and '
Do this with effects? The Guitar sorta sounds phased and airy. Very pleasing on the ears mate! The riff itself is like a mix between Lynrd Skynrd and Creedence Clearwater Revival. Good stuff!
Sorry to take so long responding to your review. I used the effects with my Sequel program. I've stopped recording because I hate doing it and don't have good recording equipment. About to try to record a few videos. Will post them on TT.I like writing and playing more than recording.
Undertones of 'Driving' in this track. Kind of like they're sister songs. There's this indie college film we watched last semester called "One of these" or "The least of these" (a play on the phrase 'one of these things is not like the other'). Done by kids working on their Master's submitted to a film competition (and the winning entry, if I remember correctly). Anyways, the story of this kind of reminded me of that. Interesting & mellow interlude (?) music. Lates!
they are sister pieces in the fact that the same person did the music for both. Good ear to catch it. I just wrote and recorded the accapellas. I had a lot of fun working with Dan on both songs. I wrote drive to the music and FX. He put the music and FX to ARK afyer I recorded vocals. Sorry about late response. Been sick.
I know that was Latin, but I can't help thinking that it came from some John Williams score (possibly The Temple of Doom). I love the way ya effected 'em to almost sound digitized for the second go around. What really makes 'em work here is the whole stereotypicala view of metal being Demonic. Kinda like the Temple nod from above, I could see some kinda evil ritual being enacted.
The part with the "Musical Montage" kinda killed that view for me. And the track plunges into another aspect of metal- the chaos! Like plummeting through broken Earth down into the depths of Hell. Next the mellow riffs make it seem as if the whole crisis has been averted. Much like the epic Dante- Finally passing through and ascending back up by the hand of Virgil. Nice musical journey ya quickly took me on there. Thanks!
Joey Buttofucco? Funny little fact there. When I was in 9th grade our English teacher had written that on the board for the day's subject (for something, journaling I think). Anyways, I was one of the first few people in and I nonchalantly walked by and erased the middle 'O'. Nuff said there (end random mode).
As for it's rediscovery, don't ya just love that? I'll periodically search through my progs to see if I can't find stuff that I've forgotten about. There are a few of my tracks up now that came from C drive snoopin.
The synths and Guitar on this are major. The drums don't sound like loops they sound live the way they've been effected on here. Those FX are cool as well because it makes this seem like it's being played out of an old-skool Transistor Radio. Lates mate!
I recognize those Piano keys ya used. Nice! I agree, style-wise this is all over the place. The little drum&bass fill ya used was cool too. Love the way ya ended this and the beginning half has so much going on I dunno where to begin. This song screams energy (with kind of a soft light). Much like those Gas powered street lights. Later on!
Arrangment. The lull & return of the synth @ around 1:20 is sweet and then right after that with the buzzy bass sound ya added. This track has kind of a rolling bouncy feel that's very bobbish (keep yo head rockin). Thanks for sharing & please hook us up with some more mate. Later on!
Lower toned synths at the beginning remind me of dripping water from a leaky faucet into a half-filled bowl. The pads give it a nice and airy sound that remind me of kicking back on a couch and laying my head on a soft cushion. The name is very fitting of this. Good work. Later on!
The vocal sample on this is awesome. Her voice is set at the perfect level and blended in good and she sounded nice and sultry. The keys on this kinda remind me of early Robert Miles. Thanks for sharing. Later on!
