Leahcim, thanks for the compliment. Just to correct you, I do not sing or should I say I can not sing. These are loops I found and wrote the song. I played all the instruments except the Drums Scott B helped me in that area.

Hiya Midiman. Okay, I love the rhythm section, very easy to listen to, so well done to that! As far as the vocal, it's not quite in the pocket as it should be (I am re-listening the track as I write). It seems as if she is racing ahead of the musicians, not breathing the song or really connecting with the lyric. This is especially true of the last few bars where she is (and I am assuming) improvising. Improvisation and Jazz can be a magical thing, but in this case it seems rushed and a bit disconnected. With all that said, I do really like her voice. Of course my comments are based on the assumption her vocals were recorded either "live," or to your track, and not dropped in.

Sorry for the late reply. Thank you for the compliment. I was trying to get a live feeling by letting it be out of sync a little just a little. not to much not to less. Like listening to a real band. Guess I got that since you noticed a slight timing feeling.

Hi mate, thanks for review. Yes JJ has a unique vocal style. I was lucky to be able to work her pella into a track that I had been working on and it seemed to blend well.

Hello there Scott! First let me shout out to Janis and say I love the tone of your voice...kinda reminds me of Basia. I love the instrumentation as well...Janis'vocals seem to be in the rhythm pocket for the most part, and that's pretty cool that you were able to do that. However, I do also hear some clashing going on which sometimes makes her vocal seem out of tune...for instance around 1:17 where she sings the word "dry" there seems to be a disconnect for a second..then it's right back in the pocket until the disconnect happens again. Perhaps if you take Janis up on her offer to lay a fresh vocal over your wonderful instrumental that would solve the problem. Other than that, I have to say Well Done!
