Planet, man, you never ever ever ever disappoint!!! Too damn freaky! I love your approach to the jazz/funk genre. The bass and guitar are too funky for words, and the sax is sweet. It's cerebral, it's funkeeeeeeee.
Hey MyKael thanks buddy..glad you enjoyed the track man!....much appreciated from all the lads,it's a funky world and everyone needs a little funk in their system now and again..cheers mate Dave :)
Hey Hey! They rhythm section is killer on this!!! Not sure about some of the clarinet placement though. Towards the end it gets a little out of pocket at times, but overall I do dig it! Thank you!
Thanks for commenting bro. I'll tighten up a few things on the track -- especially the ending. I should have left the original closing as it was. Goes to show you that your first mind... In any event, your vocal intonations lend themselves to a style off Jazz music that is easily listenable. Let me know if you'd like me to 'instrumentalize' (and yes, that's a very seldom-used word), any of your other vocals. I'd get a big kick out of it.
Check back with ya Mykael when I'm done with the touchups.
This track will play in my head all day being it was the first piece of music I heard this a.m., and that is a GOOD Thing! I'm loving it....well done, kat! Thanks for sharing it.
I absolutely love your voice! This is the type of tune that is perfect for a live summer outdoor performance. There is plenty of room for musicians to jam. I'm curious to know what ever came of it...noticing that you posted it some three years ago.
This is QUITE BRILLIANT!!!! Ramsey is from my hometown...we are both native sons of Chicago. I think he'd be boppin' his head to this one if he were ever to here it! Well done, you!
Many thanks, Mykael. Chicago produced some great musicians and Ramsey was one of the greatest. I've been trying to recreate some of the earlier styles of jazz, soul, and funk lately. More later stuff is on my soundcloud site: http://soundcloud.com/scottb55 if interested. Thanks again for taking the time to comment.
I concur with john...fantastic, indeed. I also agree strongly with Ghost...this is not hiphop, it's Pop. My constructive criticism is: it seems towards the end you were holding back some BIG notes....let those notes OUT!! I believe you have the lungs for it.
Your vocal treatment for this track has a very early 70's rock feel to it, as in San Francisco rock. You and Tumbleweed pair extremely well. I had to "fav" this one. Well done!!!
Over all your track has amazing energy. The intro seemed a bit disconnected from the rest of the piece. Maybe a difference in tempo? I think if could sort out that one component you'd end up with a very tight track.
Because you mentioned "singing live over top...." I was expecting to hear your voice come in at some point, but alas it's an instrumental. I like it very much. It's quite accessible which is obviously a good thing regarding Religious Music. I like to call this kind of music Contemporary Faith Music. Well done!
Thank you Mykael. I haven't had a chance to put the vocals to any of these songs that I use in leading worship. I just like to create a fuller backing track to accompany myself when I play and sing on Sunday. I get a little bored with just my vocals and an acoustic, and the congregations seems to really enjoy it. They say I am a "One Man Praise Band". Some of the songs are a little rougher than others, but I am slowly reworking them all to be better productions. They are free to download so other Worship musicians and singers can use them as well, but I like to leave them a little rough around the edges so they don't sound too much like a karaoke track... and also so nobody will try to use them professionally.
Peace -
Ken
Thanks for using my acapella. When I first listened to this track, my first thought was "my vocal isn't in pocket with the beat," but somehow it REALLY works...I was drawn in. I like how my vocals fade down into the mix, and the track becomes something other. It's cerebral, which is definitely my kind of music. Well done!
Thank you so much Mykael, for your kind words and appreciation. I am VERY excited about this track. There is always two sides to every story and I wanted to be a voice for my father.
I am loving this, Bob! Your vocals are like a spanish Bon Jovi....the tenor growl. The composition is brilliant...and the mixing is not bad at all. Would you be interested in working with "Beautiful Girl", an acapella of mine? When I created the lyrics and melody with a Spanish flavor in mind; sort of like a mid-tempo ballad. Take a listen on my Looperman page and let me know what you think.
Thank you Leahcim.

You are obviously above me in many areas. Especially in the mixing.
"Beautiful Girl" is a very unique acapella. It really sounds like you put your heart into it. I would love to work with it. Just tell me what you would like.
Thanks for your kind response.
Hiya Richie! This is a VERY sweeet track! When I listen to it, I hear so many different things going....At first it sounds as it would fit so perfectly on a "SHAFT" soundtrack, then it sounds very jazzy/bluesy and very current. Your mixing chops are off the chart! Well done!!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by, listen and post a comment. Much appreciated. Ah! I remember the Shaft soundtrack very well indeed and I take it as a compliment you comparing my work with that. Yes, jazzy and bluesy but much of the credit here must go to Patricia and the fine vocal. Glad you enjoyed the track and thanks again.
This is a "MUST ADD" to my Fav list! Music doesn't get any more "real" than this track. I am in love with the way you play guitar--quite brilliant, my friend!
wow, dear Mykael, you made me so glad by coming here & listening to & commenting on one of my trials such kind man. I'm happy if you've enjoyed it & appreciate your time & also according to your nice voice I would be really glad if you may had any Idea for vocal about this. thank you Mykael & my best wishes & regards.___Behnam.
Hi Leachim. Thanks for the feedback. I'm not in love is one of my all time favourites so it must have influenced my keyboard selection as I do like that phased rich digital piano sound with choir. Well picked up. I should do a cover!
