Hiya, Manuela... It is only a scratch vocal. It is how every song we do starts out. We are simply attempting to capture the idea,(see what works and what doesn't) and build from there. If you have ever listened to Streisand in the studio (studio behind the scenes NOT meant for public consumption) where she is working out a song , you'll hear the same. Ergo, the caveat "no need to comment on the quality". LOL

Manuela! Thanks so much for the message and reaching out! As it does happen, life has been a little hectic. The album is still in the works. It's gonna happen eventually...LOL. I just watched an interview with Pharrell and Miley Cyrus talking about their hit collaboration, "Doctor." That track was recorded 12 and has sat on the shelf ever since. Now, it's finally out, and what a track it is!! Their story makes me feel a lot better about my album taking as long as it is taking to finish--everything in its own time. It's coming, be patient. LOL.
Hello Mykael I think your standards are much higher than most people here. Most of the time it's all about "the song". Likes this? Does it sound reasonable? Is there something fundamentally wrong that can be changed quickly? Something like that anyway. And if you listen to this song here under these aspects, then it's a 100% number. Everything top and nothing to complain about. Even the singing you described as raw it's great.
If that were my song, then I would be super happy. So, everything done right. And if that can still be expanded for you, then I'm curious about the end result.

VELVET, like I said. You Shure you didn't hang out with Sammy Davis or Johnny Mathis when you were a kid? It takes real vocal skills to perform Jazz vocals of this nature. Hey Mykael, I see that you are making, not completely Country, but I find some similarities with (Rock and Roll Hall of Fame) Roxy Music. Here is an album cut that this song reminded me a bit of the style you are heading toward, though this has that late seventies sound.
