on Sketch Today - Sketch the Day by Willbraham
this is a mood provoking piece that gives a sense of serenity. Sounds like of something Moby off his b-sides. More and more i am seeing a depth in cinematic pieces that makes me appreciate the beauty in music..Pieces like this shouldnt go by unoticed. Very nice Mister Brahams
Willbraham
Willbraham replied 29th Nov 2011 - 13 years ago
Thank you so much for your kind comments. With each new track I'm producing, I come to realize that my style is very much rooted in the cinematic. My goal (even before I knew I had a goal) is to provoke moods, very much so, and with this piece I wanted the listener to get the sense they were looking over the world, and all the busy activities on it (mostly the human side but some animals too). I also made a music video on youtube meshing the Qatsi trilogy. It is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZIPsth5dmQ
Thank you again, retronical for the love review.

on Pacino Life Ft Mo The General by CONEYISLANDRECORDS
just been on a Sunday listening binge and have to say its been a good one. Also have to say this is real good. I've always selectively liked 90's upbeat hip hop and you seem very crafty at what you do. The femme sample, perfectly bouncing beat and good spittin' made for a great listen, just pissed off the landlord, no joke

on Kurosawa ft MStokes and Tumbleweed by AllenV
after hearing the blackcat's ethereal sounds, now this sonic soundscape, nuff said...grew up to 80's HAIR thrash and quiet riot so i look forward to hearing more. And to think that wolfy Nuada is prowling around, oh the insanity, makes me realize I aint nuthin but a chicken wing eating cheeto. Salute Sirs!

Retronical!
Hello my friend,I come from the 80's also so that's why I can't change my sound too much cause I'm already programmed and wired this way,but I still love it and some of us just have to embrace it,keep playing and hope someone out there likes it...even if it's just those of us(Like myself)who have survived late night render-vouz boat rockin' discotheque's and waking up beside a couple of semi-hairy apes the next morning...Ah...the good ol' days...and lived to tell the tale;)

Thanks for the great review and don't say chicken wing eating cheeto as if it's a bad thing,I love what you do and on any given day that would be the best thing anyone called
me...and I love Cheetos's anyway,crunchy:)

wow ur second clip and am digging the build up to 1 min.
sounds very authentic to me, will be checking more in time, peace out

I got inspired by the piano loop made by the looperman member ImproveWithError. The second part of the song was/is an improvisation to make it a little longer... Be my guest man I love geting good or bad reviews of my work that's how I know if I'm making some progress on song writing, thanks for taking the time to listen and to review my songs :)

on Lifes just a ride by xpekt
i really like the mellowness and ambience of a dreamy rock. Personally i like this mix style, in a world of loud polished music, this is easy on the ears and is like a flat matte in a world of gloss. nice tracking

Thank you retronical!!! yeah this guitar part is one of my favourites it gives a sense of peace to the song :)

on Insert Here by Willbraham
My definition of dance can go beyond the club dancefloor. Waltz, pheasant dance, rolling around on the floor, hula hoops on fire, sort of a last dance with a lost love. can take many forms and you captured an essence of that. I picture twirling bodies. Live drums sound fire.

on Half A Foot Out The Door by Diabolos
i hear an acoustic bedtrack of what could be an awesome heavy alternative rock tune. Kinda like a Staind style, start with the acoustic then kick in with some heavily distorted guitars, epic drums etc...it will all come in time, keep at it :)

liked it, fun riffy simple stuff. liked the lyrics and ur voice is good in a Neil Young type rock fashion, just think your holding back the fire in the belly. Either some vox distortion fx or start smoking a carton of camels lol, cheerz enjoyed
