Jerry, I had a moment to stop by and give a listen to one of your tracks. I am impressed. Randy is one of the best musicians I know, and pairing his work with your terrific vocals....well, it's a match made in country heaven :)
Beautiful work sir. Great lyrics, and a super rich tone to your voice. Outstanding effort by both of you. I'm not sure how I missed this, but I'm glad I found it. Thanks for sharing. I hope all is well.
I think Steve is dead on - you really have grown at an exponential rate and rapidly put yourself at the top of the list of great composers on this site. If that is you on the piano throughout this one, then you have skills on that as well.
All I can say is I have a massive amount of respect for what you have accomplished here. I know nothing about the genre, but I do know a little something about the level of difficulty in creating something this good. You should be proud of this one, because it really is stellar work.
Hi Bear!
So nice of you to write this - your amazing piano loops were the first ones I ever used in a song from this site a little over a year ago and I remember you not being overly impressed by the result and rightly so, it was horrendous!! =D
So I guess you really can tell the differences between now and then.
This was a fun song to make and I think a lot of the reason why it worked out was because of the pella, it's an interesting pella and gives a lot of ideas to build the instrumental up on.
About the piano, some of it is mine, but there is also a pianoloop underneath. I'm only placing out notes on the pianoroll in FL at the moment and don't have a midi or a real piano but I hope that will change in the future.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving these engouraging words! And all the best to you and your loved ones.
/ SJ =)
Patricia, I've heard your pellas hundreds of times in songs written by hundreds of different producers, but I have to say when Patricia Edwards and Richie Winn team up it is absolute solid gold. I just wish some record company would come along and recognize the true greatness of you (and Richie). Until they do, all of us here at Looperman will continue to marvel at your talents.
You guys rock, but I think you already knew that :) This song is one of my all time favorites. Again, really really really well done. I hope all is well.
Hey Mr. Bear! Richie and I indeed did work well together. I believe his out having a blast living life as of late, having fun enjoying it or something like that haha. Ya know the record label thing is overrated don't-cha? :-) I hope all is well Mr. Bear! Thank you.
No critique here, just a massive amount of respect for a job well done. The fact you were able to use a vocal track in a different tempo makes this one all the more impressive.
I wouldn't change a thing. I think indie/trip hop works just fine for the genre and I would love to hear more like this one.
Really well done Cognac, really, really great effort. Props to you and the great vocalist. I hope all is well.
I really liked the addition of your guitars on Charlene's track. Considering you only had an mp3 to mix with, the final product is actually really good. Your guitar work adds a real epic rock feel to what she originally created. Well done. Love those pinch harmonics!
Thanks Bear! Later last night I realized when mixing my guitar tracks, my aux. track was not muted, and while holding my guitar, a couple sounds from that were in the mix. SO I remixed it, added a few goodies out of pro tools and sounds better!
Wow, wow and wow....you keep improving with every song, and have now placed yourself at the top of the list when it comes to comsposition, arranging, and production. This is nothing short of brilliant.
I always forget you can only play the toilet paper roll kazzoo....so the fact that this was done using loops is even more impressive.
Beautiful job Charlene, really, really beautiful work. Thanks for making my morning a little more special with this one.
Hello! That really means a lot to me, I am glad you think so. Ha, as far as the paper roll kazoo I might have graduated to plastic straw drums too...
I am glad you liked it!! Hope all is well on your end.
-Charlene
Hey Pat, this is awesome stuff man....just when I think you can't surprise me any more, poof, here you come bringing the vocals.
Awesome work. No critique for the mix and master (you are one of the best) and the vocals are outstanding. All I got for you is a 10 out of 10 and a ton of respect. Definitely added to favorites. Hope all is well.
This comment made my day, so thank you! It was all about timing with this track, I mean the timing of when I worked on it. Yesterday was the perfect moment to get the lead vocals right, and I feel like I got a decent take. Hard to accept so many compliments at once, especially from a musician I respect deeply. I appreciate the fave, and the listen! Hope you are well!
Steve, what a great way to start out my day!! First, thanks for the shoutout in the title, haha. For someone who has only been at this a few years, you have mad skills my friend. An absolutely beautiful track. I'm happy you were able to find a use for some of my loops, and that you put me in the same song with Magix loops (they are some of the best out there). Beautifully chilled, masterfully executed, and marvelously produced. I hope all is well.
It was a very hard thing to do Bear lol you had such a selection of loops and it took a while to get a collection of loops that blended well. There are a few different bpm's mixing in well from your collection and a few of Magix so it was logical to give it the name :)
Thanks for the use of your loops and hope that I can use some more in the future :)
James, this is wonderful! Kelli's vocal work is nothing short of spectacular. You have such masterful control of the guitar and it shows throughout this one. It was an honor to be able to contribute to this - a beautiful tribute to your mother. Thanks for sharing it with all of us.
Hey Mykael, really nice cover. I love the original too, and I think you more than did it justice. You've got this great satin quality to your voice....smooth like butter. Good to hear you are out gigging as well. Keep doing what you are doing bro. Outstanding effort. I hope all is well.
Wassup Bear! Thank you for your comments and encouragement, I greatly value them! I'm happy you enjoyed the track. Hope all is well with you and yours.
Richie, you plus the talents of Pauline, what an amazing combination. I loved the original version of this one, but have to say you have improved it with this one.
Everything about this one screams hit record. Mix is amazing, your playing is amazing, absolutely flawless production.
Nothing to do here but smile and marvel at your talents man. As good as it gets Richie. A beautiful interpretation of a classic. Thanks so much for the download as well. It will be listened to many, many time.
Great to see you here and thank you so much for your very kind words. It's always good to read your comments and know how much you have enjoyed listening to the track and appreciating how much effort goes in. Much appreciated.
First, the instrumental is really good, great chord progressions, really nice flow.
The vox are simply a matter of confidence. I usually tell people that when they record vocals, they need to sing them like they would if they were all alone in their car. If you approach your vocal work like that, I think you will find your voice is actually really good. I too would love to hear this one with you doing another recording of the vox, and cutting out a few of the effects. Again, the instrument beds on this one are outstanding and I think you can match that level with your vocals with a bit of confidence. I look forward to hearing this one when you get it finished. I hope all is well.
Not my normal genre to listen to, but I have to say this really was an enjoyable listen. Thoughtful melody line, great chord progression and a sterling mix. I can't offer any kind of suggestions for improvement, but a "Warning, this track is on 11" would have helped me keep the paintings on the wall, hahaha. What the heck, that wall needed painting anyway :) Well done brother, really well done.
Thanks for the kind words, my friend! I'm very happy you enjoyed this one even though you don't normally listen to the genre. Sometimes the wall needs a little decoration to make it sparkle lol. Thanks for stopping by and take care! :)
Outstanding Scott. I played trombone in a jazz group for a while a long time ago, and I have to say this brought back great memories for me. Extremely well done, with some really nice guitar work.
If anyone believes playing fusion is easy, all they need to do is give it a go and they will find out it takes a huge amount of talent, and you and Franco are gifted with immense amounts of talent.
Definitely one of the best jazz/fusion tracks I've heard in a long, long time. Well done gents. I hope all is well.
Wow, Bear...Your high praise really humbles me, especially coming from you and knowing of YOUR talent!
As stated in the comments, I almost gave up on this one, but it was too good to just let die unfinished. I do love fusion mainly for the challenge. I'm glad I brought it back for another go.
Thanks much for your listen and comment. Franco and I really appreciate it.
I saw you posted the vox to this one in the pella section. While I will be curious to see what the kids do with them, I can honestly say I'm pretty sure nothing will come close to the original. This will always be a great tune by a remarkable artist. I hope all is well.
Awe thank you Bear :)
Yes, I am very curious what will transpire by me 'legging go' of control with these vox. I was hesitant at first, but after many requests and just positive feedback I've received about the message in general I figured, why not. It's a good feels tune, so why not let it spread out a little more and make some more people feel good :)
I am well thank you. It's great to hear from you!
The secret to a great track is combining the talents of two extremely talented people. The moment Ed starts playing that Strat is absolutely magical.....simply magical.
Sometimes a piece transcends adjectives, and this is one of those.
It isn't very often I am rendered speechless, but this is one of those occasions. Beautiful piano work, wonderful mix, simply stellar in every way possible.
Downloaded for those times when I need to simply close my eyes and take a trip somewhere far away.....thank you for that.
One of my favorite tracks of all time. Bravo gents.
It's not very often to receive such an outstanding and generous review, but this one is certainly one of those precious rarities which certainly puts a big smile on artist's face..:) Thank you so much for that...
I keep having ro remind myself that you are only 11, really impressive work. Your use of dissonance is really impressive. That is something most people don't learn until well into music theory classes. Just keep doing what you are doing. You have great instincts and a skill set beyond your years. I hope all is well.
Balls to wall rave man. It's funny how we look back at 2005 as ancient history, haha. Great production work and a really nice composition. You have mad skills man, just keep doing what you are doing. Outstanding effort. Hope all is well.
Great build on this one, almost like a runaway train that is building speed heading down the track. Orlando did a masterful job with the mixing and mastering side of things.
One of the best tunes I've heard in a while. Great vocals, are they yours? Excellent job and definitely added to favorites. Well done!
These timing issues can sometimes be a real pain, as you found out. The problem is if you move something like vocals a half step in front of the beat or a half step behind, it really does make things sound a whole lot different. In the business we call that syncopation. Some music is designed for syncopation, others not so much. But you persevered and the end result really is well done, and hopefully worth it on your end. This is a solid track, well mixed, nicely balanced, and a real pleasure to listen to. Thanks for letting me lend you my ancient ears, hahaha. I hope all is well.
Mate own you big time with your help, yes well and truly worth it now, like ozzi said sounds radio quality that's why I pulled so much hair out so much trying to get it right,I am bald now but was worth it in the end, will attempt another Pop track prob next track after I load a Cinematic track on weekend, now this old fart has learnt something, well hopefully learnt lol...MASSIVE RESPECT MATE...Peace Mosaic....
Bro, I have to give you major props for sticking with it and trying to make the vox work. And they do in spots, especially from the 2:38 mark to the end. But the verses are just not quite in synch through the first 2:38 of the song. My advice, the music is outstanding, so perhaps keep only the chorus parts, or just get rid of the vocals altogether. Instead of trying to mesh the vox into the track, perhaps change to a synth lead or something and not worry about the vocals. As I said, the backing track is outstanding. The vox are what are really throwing this one off. Kudos for your determination. I admire your tenacity. I would have given up a long time ago. I hope all is well and that the hair is growing back in the spots this song made you pull, haha.
This piece is killing me, slowly but surely, seriously just feel like throwing in the trash can, that's how much it has pissed me off, seriously think it is the effects more then anything on the vocals that are driving me crazy, might do what you said get rid of this version for now and look at the dry vocals to add to it at a later date, seriously think that will make a big difference, will private message you with email addy so you can point out what parts to remove etc, will upload instrumental version in next half hour, would be good if you check that out for me, will go sort that out now...Peace mate and thank you...Mosaic...So will hide this one once again...
Behnam, another absolutely beautiful track. Your mandolin playing is just fine, believe me. You have nothing to worry about.
Such a wonderful combination of musical instruments and influences, all seamlessly combined to make a wonderful few moments. I'm on my 4th listen and I think I'll just hit play a few more times before I head off to do something today.

Really great work Billy.....has this epic cinematic feel to it...definitely a track that would work really well in a video game, or as an intro to a movie.
You never disappoint Billy, your work is always spot on and this is no exception.
Haha nice one brother Bear.
Maybe a movie intro, can't really see it in a video game but all welcome.
Yes, a cinematic trap fusion.
God bless brother. - B
Man, you have such great chops on those guitars....such crisp, clean work. Shows what a life of dedication to an instrument can result in. That bass line is absolutely smokin'......
Simply fantastic from start to finish. Nothing to critique here. All I can say is really, really well done. Now I'm going to sit back and he play again. Thanks for posting this jewel. I hope all is well.
We appreciate each of your word, Bear. Your ear, heart, taste, will, sense of harmony and the perfectness. It is a music itself.

I miss Michael....we "met" when I joined the site in 2008. I've always felt he was/is an absolute musical genius, with a depth to his music that some simply did not understand. He was a pillar of this community and it is my sincere hope that he returns at some point.
This is a wonderful collaboration between two of the finest people I have ever met on this thing we call the Internet. Behnam, you should be proud of this collaboration, and proud of your friendship with Michael as well.
Michael, if you ever read this, you touched a lot of people and their lives on here with your music, your wit, and your kindness. I do hope all is well.
