nice patient intro build & break around 1:35...I dont know much about the genre Vincent but this one seems quite different and quite minimal....good to hear some imaginative musical thinking....Ed

on Slightly remastered Piano ft Katie Bregman by SeriouslyJoking
well...I think you`re off to a fine start SJ...I love piano (even though I sometimes claim to be an ol guitar guy)..perhaps reduce the volume very slightly and maybe try inserting a mid-side processor to widen the piano and leave a vocal spot in the middle (there are some decent free ones...check Brainworx Music for their BXSolo)..I don`t mind quite a bit of reverb..although I might reduce it a touch (its a personal taste think I think)...also..on your reverb setting...set the pre-delay quite long (50ms or so) and that will allow the initial vocal phrases to sound clearer before the reverb kicks in...The disonance isn`t overly concerning but you could check the key relationship between the piano & vocal & perhaps get them closer.......will have to check back & hear how you make out....Keep it rolling...and a well done to you....Ed

What a great guy you are, Ed!! Thank you for taking your time to listen and giving lots of very good advice. Especially that about the BXSolo - I'm checking in to that and the rest of it first thing tomorrow.

Right now I've just used FL's stereo enhanger to widen the piano a bit and looked over the pitching part.

on Charle funk a doodle by RichieWinn
A dash of funk...a splash of jazz...I know nada about a lot of genres Richie & don`t pay much attention to them so I`m with whatever you decide it is...note you mentioned sax...I personally think that would be a great addition..I can hear it a nice sax piece in my mind as I write...sliding smoothly over the busier key bits..kudos on keeping it fairly minimal where everything is nice and crisp and plays its part (I have cluttered more than a few of my own mixes in the past...now more careful not to do so)...You`re off to a great start and its nice to hear a new one from you after what seems like a very long time....great stuff....keep on....Ed

Hi Ed

Thanks for the comments - always good to have you drop by and listen. Hope to get the sax player from the band I work with around soon to try some ideas and maybe put a guitar synth part down myself too. Yes, there's a lot of space left and as you say the trick is not to fill it all!

Best

Hello Benham...thank you for the copy you sent (I still cannot get the Looperman track to play)...but I must say...you excel with the classical guitar...it is superbly played and you carry the main percussive style theme through the song with some wonderful embellishments....this is great playing Behnam...The section from 1:45 to 2:33 brings a much darker feeling (I would call it ominous or dangerous) while the rest of the musical journey is very happy and upbeat....perhaps the darker section reflects your personal thoughts...I must also say a very well done to you on the production...the tone, clarity and balance are excellent (even to my ears that are not as good as they used to be)...I hear that you have been very thoughtful and precise in the composing and most skillful in bringing it together for us to hear.....Bravo....your accomplishments should be shared with the younger people in your country as encouragement for their musical creativity......Well done to you.
Your fellow student

Ed ,your mastership attention , analysis , perception , & encouragemenT would be as nice remembrance & impression & worthwhile as getting a certificate for me . & my training on your skillfull pieces has helped me abuT this trial . no countrY I have Ed..music is my cuntrY but Iran's younger generation's tallents are a gold mine which my traX seems a quarry beside their tallents if they had freedome of speech for express themselves without this islamic murder god . & Ed , master , We both know I learn from U( exclusivelY as a fav guitarist of mine in your generation ) & in facT I learn from your generation .that last phrase in your comment make me shy , & makes me want to deffend my favorite guitarist too both . Ed your guidance & encouragements as a throughbred musician who is as a master to me , makes me as a young musician to learn true mastership behaiviour for my furtures & I appreciate U for all these lessons ,so much.

on The Pain Will End Instrumental by MrShores
nothing weird about it to my ear MrShores...Its just good music put in a modern hip hop context..actually I don`t find the bass overstated at all...with the kick its holding down the bottom end well and I have noticed that bass is generally a more prominent part of music that it used to be...as far as EQ in your high mids go...I always give the lead (piano) its natural space and make other overlapping sounds go around it...I like the track...its really well done..and I really don`t think it needs more than you have here.....much enjoyed....Ed

on Stolen from the Sun with Shortbusmusic loOpS by deciBel
oh yes...a nice patient intro building towards the main part of the song....and the variations as is moves along...Flute always has a haunting or sacred feeling to me and it contrasts nicely with the accompaniment....well done Behnam....and I know our friend Bear will want to hear this one...I think he is away for a while now....He has been travelling often lately (to visit his little Grand Daugher I think) but hopefully he will catch up with you in the near future......HaHa your new name here might not appeal to your controlling persecutors who rule with fear and force.....Keep doing your music...but take care....Ed

and abouT Bear , Ed I have more than 8 trials which I've used his loops in them ( once is all made by his loops ) , buT I've selected this one , cause Bear haD listened this
trial of mine abouT 3months ago & when he still didn't know I'll dedicate this track to he/himself & had possitive idea abouT the way I had used his loops . and for the same I selected this trial to dedicate to him as someone who I think many of looperman forums like me should be honoured for his attend in hear ( like your precense , Franco presence & some other masters who althoughT I haven't been so honoured to be their friend too , buT I reallY learn aloT
from him like Wayne , like JoeFunktarisT , or planet jazzbass &..) . & ...hahaha..., cause I have never seen Bear ( or U ) doesn'T allow for download I allowed download Ed , honestY I've composed a persian texT on it by myself , buT U're listeninG instrumental version .

on La Vida by ScottFranco
The word smoooooth came to mind right away Scott...wish there was a real drummer in my neighbourhood (I have to settle for loops & samples most of the time)...Franco is a very talented guy so you`ve got good company on this one for sure...the big power in that lead guitar really contrasts nicely with the rhythm tracks and the flute is a really nice touch...Nice to hear this thoughtful kind of composing and talented playing here on the loop.....Its just a great track guys...guess it should be with the talent in the band....Ed

on No Sleep Tonight FT BunnieRabbit by brillbilly
You take the genre to a whole new level Chris...and while I know little about genres...I do have great admiration for creativity that produces this kind of result...never considered myself an "Industrial" fan...yet on more that a few occasions I have dipped in the industrial beats folder when I needed something different....This one has a bit of cinematic quality too...makes for a good and interesting listen (the kind of characteristics that separates the Loop from our commercial radios).....right on....Ed

Thank you very much Ed!

This started off being cinematic, but it started taking on a more industrial feel,so i just run with it!

on Im Not a Machine by CitizenMofo
kind of a multi-genre trip here CitizenMofo...I really like the cinematic genre as it gives you all kinds of license to take the music wherever the spirit moves you....you made good use of it here and you did a nice job of holding it all together with the breats & transitions....good on ya.....Ed

Yeah, I never know what genre to put my stuff in. I don't think in genres, just in sounds that I like. Which is probably why I'll never be rich and famous, oh well. I wanted a head-bopping body-mover that reached a sort of beatific climax. Whether I achieved that or not, it's good to hear that it resonates with someone. Thanks for the listen and comment, Tumbleweed, I appreciate it.
