Listen To Ill Be Waiting - Feat Bonnie Rabson V 2 Electronic Song By AggroCultureMusic At Looperman.com

18th May 2013 20:06 - 12 years ago
Description : ***EDIT***
Version 2.0 Uploaded: Added some reverb to blend in vocals a bit.
Thanks to all the nice Looper-People offering comments, pointers and advice.

A quick demo based on a great vocal performance by Bonnie Rabson. Check it out here : https://www.looperman.com/acapellas/detail/4687

I wanted to give the tune a kind of electronic (Vince Clarke'ish) feel to it built around some easy-going chords. So here goes - ENJOY !

It's still a work in progress - Comments and pointers would be greatly appreciated :)

/Peter

Bloody Brilliant work! You definately captured that Vince Clark sound, (Yaz, depeche mode, erasure), and Bonnie's voice works well she sounds a bit like Johnette Napolitano from Concrete Blonde. Good work!

I fully agree with BrillBilly: the song structure is perfect. The arrangement I would say you can only improve the mix/eq, and Billy had a good advice here.
Personally, I would apply different amount of reverb/delay for the quiet parts and the parts where you have more going on in the background.
Overall... wonderful song! Really professional. Respect.
Domenico

PS: I simply love the small vocal bit which you have in the beginning with a lot of echoes

Hello Domenico,
Thanks for commenting and giving me some pro advice. Im currently fiddling around for the first time with some reverbs and levelers on the vocals... and YEP you're absolutely right: Different reverb on the quiet parts is definiately the way to go (just found out through extensive testing).
So hopefully with the advice from the nice Looper-people taking the time commenting and guide the noob Ill be able to upload a version 2.0 soon :D

PS: Your track ft Farisha Haque is Superb !

Wonderful track, and wonderful vocal by Bonnie Rabson. And as for a work in progress, it sounds pretty damn good to me as it is.

Good stuff.

Hello Tim,

Thanks for listening and commenting :). I tend to have some difficulties in deciding when a track is finished but on this one the feedback I've recieved is pointing me towards keeping the structures and focus on eq's and teach myself how to use effects on Pro Tools :D

Quote; (Vince Clarke'ish)

Yep you nailed it!

That has that great old school Eurythmics/Yazoo type vibe!

That was really enjoyable!

The only thing i would do if this was my production, is add more reverb/echo on the vocals to just blend them in more, but thats just what i would do, and in know way am i saying i know better!

Good work,I really liked that,so thumbs up from me! ;)

Hey
I'm so glad that you liked it. Comparing the vibe to 2 of my musical "heroes" is an honour.

Im still a newbie to protools and production and still have some work to do on this track. Ill look into putting some reverb on the vocals and see how that pans out.
So, Thank you for the constructive comment and thumbs up returned :)

Description : A demo of one of my current projects. The chorus vocal sounds like "Aaaaraashe" to me. The song is in C# minor with a nod to C# pythagorean on the chorus. The beat on the verse was inspired by the Peter Gabriel song Intruder.

Description : This is one of my earliest productions that I did at the start of my recording career. I did not have a keyboard at the time I made this song, so I improvised and used my sister's iPad and a 5 dollar GarageBand application instead, and plugged the headset jack into into my PT6 rig and did my best to turn each individual track (which were mono and there were about 25 tracks or so) into a stereo image. Then recorded vocals over it. My computer was so old and slow that I had to mix my music and then BOUNCE it to a new session - four times. My computer (which had 512 MB RAM and an 80 GB hard drive) couldn't handle more than 8 tracks at a time or it'd stop working because the processor couldn't handle it. Took me FOREVER to do. But I got it done. Had a lot of fun doing it too, even if it isn't my "best" work. I'm still happy with it, considering I didn't have many tools to choose from at the time.

Description : Long time lurker first time poster, pretty new to production n stuff, this is my first track in Ableton Live.
was going for a darkwave/synthwave sound, reminiscent of Justice, Carpenter Brut, Perturbator, ect.
Looking for some feed back, constructive criticisms or even just your thoughts if you liked it or not. This is just a rough cut on this current WIP, just the bones of it if you will.. If you have some cool title suggestions, would love to hear those too.
Thanks for listening.
