This is the track of yours that resonates with me, Gnasty.
Props to you on your piano playing for someone who recently started learning during the time you made this track.
I especially love the quiet parts where you can just hear the piano, finger snaps, and percussion.
Looking forward to hearing you play the keys in future tracks. :)
I guess you mean a 'Piano One' plugin (and I am familiar with it). It still sounds a bit artificial but comparing to other (mostly synthesized, flat sounding pianos) this one has more of 'body' resonance and kind of a metalic resonance (which is nice). Maybe it produces to much of an ambiance but that's relative of course.
It is always hard to make piano plugins sound realistic - you've made a really good job as piano beginner.
I liked a kind of a happy vibe of this composition too. More R&B territories than HipHop to me but this is a very good one.
Thanks for the kind words man, and I appreciate the advice on Piano One. Im not really in the position to spend skrillabeebs on a proper piano synth but I plan to once I can because I have fallen in love with piano recently. I'll keep trying to tweak piano one and see if i can make it sound more natural!
well...you`re doing damn good for just starting to learn piano Gnasty...I have been trying to teach myself a bit more on the keys for a while but I have a long way to go unless I stick with the simple stuff...I don`t listen to much hip hop but gotta say this is a melodic style that sounds good to me...good job man...keep on...Ed
Thanks for the kind words! I am not just starting from scratch, I picked up a Chords chart from a music store (http://www.walrusproductions.com/images/pianochordsmed.jpg) and just went from there. I still couldn't play a single chord without looking it up, but baby steps, right? Keep trying and I'm sure you'll be playing in no time :) good luck with the piano!

Description : Something i did when i was about 15, and when i still made beats. This particular track is actually the reason i decided to get into composing at all. I had a good run with the beats and hip-hop scene, but i always had a leaning more towards composing and this, i think, is the catalyst for that revelation. This beat is 9 years old, and gives you a sense of what it was like to be a young, passionate, musically driven teen. Thank you.
