i have rarely heard such a beautifully integrated vocal. not only can I hear the words perfectly but tonally (color), it is such a beautiful mix. hats off on that. it is very smart taking it all down around 2:50 in to just voice and a beat. just a great song. all the power. this pup is getting shared big time!
rich beautifully mixed sound. super epic feel. i particularly like your use of various bells. lots of interesting elements. perhaps you could EQ a bit here and there as you go along to let the various new elements shine. great work!
just thought I would listen to one more to get a better feel for your stuff. it is very poetic in the rap. "when you become the key all the doors'll let you in?" (somethin like that). in the day - (in the white day) it was Crosby Stills and Nash sayin' "but you must learn to turn the key before she'll let you in") you are a great artist. beautiful hypnotic track. all the power and much success.
wow, man! HUGE welcome to this site! I wish you a lot of enjoyment on it and great feedback. I just listened to sentenced to life - it is a real psychological masterpiece. i'm sure you could develop it further but it is powerful. there is a "sustained" quality to your production that I want to copy. peace , love (and money!) your new looperman bud - Dan
I appreciate the kind words. I usually don't aim for rap, but sometimes the instrumentals catch my attention a certain way. And yes, I can surely further develop sentenced to life. That's what I have for it this far. May want to approach it differently, if retouched.
i love hearing well-mixed percussion because i am feeling my way through this particular dark tunnel lately. the singing is beautiful and the mixing is excellent. the mood/genre is some sort of beautiful element of bassa nova sound. it's a beautiful listen. big congrats. much success.
is that you singing Patrick? I'm sold on it. As far as your sounds - it is all fascinating to me and IMHO superbly produced. the effect of the track for me is like intelligent ravings of a well-focused madman.
Yep, that's me! I think I'm getting a little better at vocals recently, even though I heavily effect them. It's definitely a strange REM song. I'm for sure a madman too, glad you enjoyed it!
soulmaaaan85! i just wanted to thank you. i hope you understand I did not mean that your track should only be 1:42. all i meant by that was how I wanted to use it in the presentation. you are the awesomness brother. power on! Dan
madness is scary. the vocal chanting is very effective. it sounds like you are in an ancient "mode".
there is a sense of disorientation, disconnection, randomness. it all combines to create a lot of uneasiness. then the ending just drops! powerful stuff. big congrats.
i cut it down to 1:42 as requested by midisparks! just A heads up: my album TREIBEL DANCE is on the way to itunes and should be available for purchase as soon as nov. 15 2013
it's a very hypnotic piece. i like the violin a lot. the time went by like nothing. you have an interesting concept for your work. i look forward to discovering more. regards - DAn
the troubling psychological state induced by this brilliant bit of trance was heightened by my dying hard drive - so I was getting some stutter that i'm not sure was my hard drive or the track. I am transported to a dark place of evil conjurings and incantation.
i like your sounds - especially the lead sounds. i like the solos also. the drumming is fresh! very slick transition at 2:28. maybe you want to fade her out at the end? or some little bit of effect? great work D! peace.
really enjoyed this track. it has a placid quality which is not necessarily associated with dubstep so it is kind of "fusion" in my mind. when the voice comes in that is a special moment for me. seems really first class production. congrats!
Thanks! Well, I didn't know if this one was dubstep or fusion... but, I guess you're right: it's more like fusion.
Well, thanks for listening and comment! :D
i like the pace of this. the build/development is very natural, flows - "flows" I guess is a little ironic because part of dub is about the interruptions! yea - there is a spookiness here in the sounds. holy cow - now you guys got me craving the dam candy corn - my teeth are aching just thinkin bout it.
awesome production mist. i will have to check out the itunes. not my venue as a rule. i will share out this teaser. is that you rapping? all the best. dan
i thought i heard a harp - or was that still the piano at 2:17? we can learn a lot about harmony and styles by doing "tribute" pieces like this. it is a beautiful job. I did a "tribute" to Alban Berg (German 12-tone composer). It is called "12 tones in the Day" if you want to check it out. best of luck with your studies. keep sharing your music! cheers. Dan
Yes, that was a harp.
Well, this song was only the first try. Pachelbel's Canon is one of the easiest pieces, so, it's not hard to learn the note pattern.
Maybe I could make my own songs. But it will take a long time, I guess...
I'll listen your track right now.
Thanks for listening and comment! :D
i think your synth choices are excellent - mixing well. that lead especially is interesting - it has a unique "edge" to it. also the bottom synth sound really establishes itself well. I hear a lot of applications for this strong beat. nice work, man! - Dan
interesting what Mark said about the genre. i agree. i might say it is cinematic - evokes some dramatic action - a sci-fi thing for example. great start - neat epic sounds! power on! Dan
i love this "wall of sound" stuff. and yet you are able to make various elements emerge - tinkling bells, electric guitar riffs, etc. great transition to fast section. I would have developed the fast section more - was hoping you would give me a nice long solo! super mix, Benham! peace - Dan
Hi Dan ,well as We talked in email too, my access problem solved today & atlast I'm here again . greatest appreciations of mine for your attntion and interesting commenT & shared idea . it's always great for me whenever I see someone has left a commenT which has a suggestion in its content (like your commenT) .thnak U very much Dan for presence and attention.best wishes.___Behnam
the mood of your music together with the NASA track creates a powerful nostalgic feel at the beginning. i think transition into more active section is very slick. only thing i might say is that I felt the building drums was leading to a rocking guitar solo or something, but it does not go there. nevertheless - awesome work! keep goin'!
what a great voice. clear, expressive, alluring. i like the sounds/melodic bits you introduce here and there for variety. your song has a trance element to it which works well. best of luck in further development. peace. Dan
wow, that is a troubling vocal message! where is that taken from? you know - it is not easy timing the music and the drama of the music to fit around the vocal message. you REALLY get this, and it is powerful. i wish you best of luck in further developing this one. regards. Dan
