i like the background groove you set up - lots of dry sounds. the organ sound as well functions as a percussion sound. there is an island feel, a reggae feel perhaps. it is a spellbinding creation - nice job. regards. Dan

on AZZYKO - GALAXY by AZZYKO
wonderful surprise at 35 secs in. very effective intro to main section there. you have really got that hard kick down. nice mixing there. you offer a lot of variety and interest in this track even as you stay pretty close to some basic melodic motives. bringing it down at 3:22 and building up again works great. nice work. enjoying it a lot.

some of your sounds have a vocal quality that complements the vocalist beautifully. you paint a rich sonic landscape, full of subtleties, and you hold us in a chilled spell. wonderful work sir.

on Sumassun - WIP by RampatheSwift
love the chords. upbeat drumming. cheerful. happy music. simple, sweet. nice little touches here and there - like the bits of vocal chorus. do you think there could be more "presence" in the mix? is there a possibility you could "normalize" the track to bring it up? all the best. look forward to hearing more! regards - Dan

RampatheSwift replied 10th Sep 2014 - 11 years ago
Hey Dan, by presence do you mean the 1-2kHz frequency range?
Haha yea i did notice that waveform was quite small compared to the other tracks on here so yea i'll normalise as soon as i get a chance. Thanks for the useful advice. Always appreciate that - Paora

i like the way you work these synths. very nice mixing. it isn't easy to have a lot of lows getting along. Seems you are achieving that. I understand better the idea of psytrance from this track. Of course the trick is to add something new as we go along in the repetitions and you get that. nice work. enjoying to the end! peace.

on What If by Livingsoulsdie
the lyrics pose challenging questions no doubt - and I like how the dub comes in after each lyric. because the dub for me reflects the anxiety created by the lyric. nice work.

on The Spy Game by ScottB55
LOL! of course the feel at the beginning is so James Bond! nice! and the breathy flute is a great choice. honestly can't pin flute to a movie but is VERY genre. you are hiting it! also the brass writing - this is very American TV in the '60s and '70s (hawaii five-o, etc.) nice work! all the best!

Thanks, MS. Yeah, everything you mentioned is pretty much what I was going for. I was also going for something that sounded like you'd heard it before, but with it being a totally original track. (Does that make sense?)

Cheers,
Scott

on I love old school by FreeRadical
nice to hear that chill progression and those retro studio strings. i didn't realize how much I loved this style and how much I've missed it. what's retro about the middle and end parts - the effects?
FreeRadical
FreeRadical replied 10th Sep 2014 - 11 years ago
Yeah the middle and the end parts might not be as old school sounding as the beginning but i reckon most of my stuff sounds like it's from the 90's so i figured i'd just call it that. Anyhow, glad you could drop by for a listen. The piece only took me a few hours so i'm pleased so many have already commented on it.
Thanks again.

on Im Born again by Coopy
Billydragon1 comment is interesting and a possible way to go. but i actually like the strong vocal at beginning against a very gradually building intstrumental that finally finds its level after the female vocal. nice sounds and mix. enjoying it! regards.

hearing the inspiring speech of JFK makes me sad that Obama has lost his popularity because I feel he still has a lot to say. at any rate - you sustain the mood well and develop your ideas and your elements with style, slow and steady. it kept me in the game from start to finish. great work. peace.

DeLaBeatz replied 4th Sep 2014 - 11 years ago
Thank you.Obama should speak out more.

it is a very rich texture and for me has an unobtrusive quality that would make it perfect for a background track. i would say cinematic, for what it's worth. nice work!

Thank you for the high praise my friend. I enjoy that this piece makes you feel this way. I do try my best in free best quality instrumentals . I want everyone to be motivated to do the same especially here in the looperman community , so slowly but surely we can get everyone at the level they want to be in no time. I know how this sounds but this is my way of helping and learning at the same time. It works for me!!! Thanks again, and take care - EazyBeatz

very well mixed - everything nice and clear. '80s style is fun. very musical also. great to hear at 3:13 intro of a new synth and maybe at 4:00 also. keeping it fresh. nice use of vocal 'hit' "music" nice work.

on E V E R L A S T I N G by GalanticMusic
was thinking what new elements and ideas might be brought in to your neat groove. i was thinking some shorter sound, like an electro stick sound - little machine gun hits sprinkled here and there. also thinking you might transition to a fast-ass section and then back. also thinking that some melody could be brought in over your groove. just free-associating. nice start. best of luck with it. nice clean mix and a great message in the lyric. yes - there is a truth to be told! in fact, many truths to be told. and as you clearly recognize, that "million dollars on the table" is not the only truth out there! congrats again on your work. regards. - Dan

Hi there! thanks for the interest in my song. I'm a beginner here so basically if you feel you can do something with this tune please feel free to work with it. In general I would like to keep the atmosphere and speed of the track but I'm totally lost on melody making any help will be much appreciated and thanks again.
