that's a real good track ... tight playing, great composition ... love that choir sound ...
guitar sound could be improved, but I guess that's more a question of equipment, so it shouldn't matter atm ...
very epic track!!
like it a lot ...
Yeah, I was amazed at how awesome the choir sounded in the mix. As for the guitar sound, I don't think it's a matter of equipment, my guitarist uses a GNX 4 processor and a post lawsuit 1970's Ibenez flying V guitar. Any ideas on how to change it to give it a more crisp sound would be appreciated, though.
this track is simply brilliant!!!
I have no idea how dubstep should sound, but I can say that I like this track ... very interesting vocals ...
awesome!!
very very solid and well written track!!!
it's a really beautiful pop ballad with all elements that are needed, great work!
just a little more reverb for the vocals and the production is perfect!!
very good song!! awesome ...
ambient in it's full meaning ...
unbelievable production ... and very thoughtout concept, which is the most important thing an ambient track must have!!
brilliant track!!
kudos (lots of kudos!!) to you both .... ;-)
rei - glad it resonates for you the musical artist! Really drew from various sources of inspiration in this one, but took the challenge raised by the "ambient" thread in the forum. To me, the genre has lost a lot of meaning over the years, and yet the basis is so vital and important. Music is truly an emotional language, and the impulse of Ambient music should be to specifically touch specific emotions and mental states deliberately. This one is designed to invoke deep states of contemplation. Great stuff having alividlife's inspiration and elements woven into this!
a rock song without any guitars!!! for a guitar player like me this should be a nightmare, but it isn't at all ...
and indeed it's rock, at least in it's musical form ... very interesting!!
some great lines in there, would be interesting to hear the same song with classic rock instrumentation ...
did I say interesting before??? lol
I like it ...
good, but short ...
love the arrangement and the simple but clear structure!!
the "writing" sound at the beginning and at the end is awesome, sums up pretty all what hiphop (and writing lyrics in general) means ...
for all non-german-speakers ... the main message is: "there's no need to talk about the past", the story talks about a broken relationship ... (classic theme!)
nice work!!!
peace, rei
(schon lange nix mehr von dir gehört!!)
nice one ...
but the guitars are too loud (I can't believe that I say that as a guitar player ... lol)!! the balance of the mix over all can be done better ...
but anyway, nice contrast between the straight 6/8 riff and the shuffled drums ...
near the end it becomes a little weird, like a band going mad in their rehearsal room ... ;-)
many thx for using my loops for this!!
listened to a bunch of your tracks now, some of them I have faved to listen again ... I'm completely blown away ...
I simply love your style, there's almost no weak point in there, fantastic playing, sound, arrangement ... lots of energy, some beautiful moments ... you're music shows an impressing variety, it doesn't become boring (which is often something that I have to notice when listening to some metal bands, many of them repeat themselves way too much!!) ...
my expectations to your songs had been high after listening the first one ... you meet them easily and even surpass them!!!
awesome work!!! and I mean all your tracks, not only this one (which is my personal fav so far ...)
perfect ....
I'm glad to find music of that quality here ....
Hey rei :)
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, but I'm in a busy work-week atm. Anyway - I'm glad you took some time to listen to my stuff, and even more happy that you like it..! This might be one of the best reviews I've gotten in a long time - so thank you very much. It means alot :)
Maybe we could colab on something one day?
what a beautiful song!!! amazing ...
concerning the production there are some things that could be done better (the vocal-recording is distorted on some points), but that's homerecording ...
anyway, obviously you're a very talented songwriter, and you write the right songs for your lovely voice!!!
great work ...
oh, thx for using some of my loops!!!
you say you're new to this, well, I say you have the potential to produce some real great tracks very soon ...
good start so far!!
this is very very nice!!!
love that drum arrangement ... great!!
and Devodale's piano is exceptional (did a collab with him a while ago ...)
I also like the clear concept you have here, and the sparingness you show in the general arrangement, nothing is overdone and every sound has enough place to work ...
good one, very good one ...
love that sounds!!!
in a different track I would have said change the sound of the lead synth and replace it with some more organic sound, but in this track it is just perfect!!
great structure here, everything else is said by nOmad already, I only can confirm that ...
great work!!!
wow ... pretty perfect in it's building ... great arrangement, the track has a clear ambient character, lots of atmosphere in there ...
the 7/8 measure gives it that special kick ... awesome work!!
love it!!
very nice tune!!!
great acoustic lick, and the slide guitar is played almost perfect, most of all it's not overdone, the perfect dose so to say ...
you show great skills in writing and arrangement in your tracks!!!
good, very good ...
Please forgive my tardy response. I've kind of been away for a while. Thank you for the kind words. It means a lot coming from an accomplished musician such as yourself.
and again: awesome playing!!! great licks and riffs ...
the synth sounds though could be a little more organic to my ears ... maybe a matter of taste ... but anyway, it's a great track!!
awesome, simply awesome!!!
you play a strat??? I really like that sound of yours ...
great playing, pretty tight ... and yes, it's funkin straight away!!
myself I'm also on the percussive side of guitar players, so I really can relate to your way of playing ...
great work!!!
Thanks Rei, coming from you that means alot. I use lots of your loops and appreciate you sharing with us all. I'm sorry I don't have loops to share back with anyone (I don't play anything really, but maybe one day when I get time.) I do however love to mix and write lyrics, actually I really really love the lyrics part. To me it doesn't even matter if they're that good, because for me it gets crap out of my head and makes me feel better.
Peace back man and THANKS for your loops and sharing your gift.
