I happen to know that Dubstep and Riddim are making a bit of a comeback, so more people are eager for works just like this than u might think. I would like to show this to some friends, if u don't mind.
just what i been waiting to hear! dope, bro. This one has a swing to it, plus their lovely voices never miss. cmon bro, this one brings a proud tear to my eye. Ive been hard at work on some stuff but one of the songs is up now. Finally. lol.
i will be checking bro, thanks for the comment, the Discord is a good idea we got going and getting bigger bro, we keep it up and bringing our great work and collabs to LM its a beautiful feeling being able to work with so many talented people
Just wanted to follow up ur answer to my comment, I really appreciate the love, man. I think sometimes, when we experiment or go out of our comfort zone, we need a little wink and a nudge to keep going in that direction. The feedback I've received has done just that. I just finished the 3rd track for the Halloween drop, and it's towing the line between trap & Hip Hop/metal even more than the other 2. Whenever everything is done, I'll try and find a way to share it, so hopefully u can hear it. I also used a live bassline for part of the track, not something I do often, because I take pride in my basslines. But for a collaboration, that takes a backseat. Id love to have a real bassline to use. Very Much appreciate the love man.
im looking forward to listening to those tracks. i love crossover but that metal is like a consuming bitch. i started with heavy hip hop but these week i ended up consumed by something. i played my bass as heavy and my hands still bleeding. i think i left the realm of hip hop and i go full korn. love to hear your new ideas.
It's hard to be on LM and not use one of her acapellas at least once. I made a few, but man, its been so long lol. I should probably do another one myself. Cinematic EDM is such a niche genre that I'm not sure it even really exists, u might get the credit for that lol. But anyways, nice work, my Shadow-brother. - Aaron
And so the sudden metal trend continues lol. Im not complaining, cuz thats awesome. But it just came out of nowhere, myself included. Even crazier, alot of what im hearing is pretty good! And yours is even better than that. Ive decided to make the Halloween release im working on feature shredding guitar in every song, and so far, the two tracks Ive done for it turned out great. I hope this trend continues, nice work Mr. banana. - Aaron (The Less metal one lol)
hey aaron, i was kinda stunned when i got back here on Lm and listened to your ideas. it encouraged me to go back to this lil project. i work for some bands and tried to show them my ideas, they think im whack. Germanys music scene is always 5 years back. metal and rock is coming back in Hip Hop. im excited whats coming from you in Hallowen. would be nice for a collar. if you need real bass player for your production, just hit me up. love from a banana
idk how to even describe this except awesome, and unexpected. I cant say ive heard anything quite like it. U defineitely take great care in your crafting, im a man of similar practice. I can certainly appreciate the level of craft that went into this. I take great pride in my drums, basslines, and percussion, even though im in a diferent genre, but u definitely should, as well. Take a bow, man. bravo.
Not sure how I missed this one. And I'm appreciating the vibes that the community has had lately. You're absolutely right, this reminds me strongly of stuff that was in heavy rotation in the 90s. And that's a good thing, those were the years! I hope u find the vocals you're looking for, id like to hear the result. Good work on this, man.
Hey Pnnywze! Thanks for stopping by and giving it a listen! I appreciate the feedback and vote of confidence you have in this! 90's era college radio had some of my favorite music, so I'm glad you felt that! I hope I can finish this, and I'll definitely repost that version when it's done!
Man, there's been a steady stream of actually good EDM stuff in all the communities Im part of, and I'm glad to see that. House, tech house in particular, reminds of the super late- night shows of my youth, and how much fun it all was. Other than maybe some more low end stuff, I wouldn't change at thing, and probably wouldn't even change that. Good work.
The sad thing is we DID have a forum here once. (RIP) But also taking LM as it's supposed to be, web software that is supposed to make alot of things easier for us, it's falling far behind in terms of what it can do. No IMs, no live feed, no large file sharing, no designated place for links etc, no video, no way to add features and/or external apps ourselves....I could keep going but u get it. I love this community, I've been here since 2018 and have connected with many great people. But there's a core of folks here who work together closely, and the potential for growth is insane. We will always be here, as well. But now it's necessary to supplement LM with new ways of doing the great work we all do if we want to reach even more of that potential. I really hope u show and show out with us. Here's the invite.
Even beyond what 500cc said, don't be afraid of all those mastering presets out there. They're really good for studying, once you see what changes the presets make, it's pretty easy to learn over time that way. I have a lot of helpful stuff like that, if you're interested. We just started a Discord for members of the community here, and I've been sharing some loops, stems and midis I've made there, and I plan to do that consistently. It's a private server, consider this your invite.
This track here has a late 90s early 2000s type of sound, someone Like Ludacris would go to town here. Thanks for sharing, man.
I know rappers need beats and don't have a lot of money. I just wanted to help them out.
I will get better and give away more free loops to help rappers out. Thanks for the reply and I would love help on mastering.
Drop me a link I'd be happy to be a part of your group. Just a shame Looperman can't do a separate forum.
But defiantly drop the link.
Ive mentioned at some point that Ive been interested very much in Greek and Mediterranean Culture. Especially food. Somethings I've tried have been so rustic and u can literally taste how many centuries old the recipes are. In a coincidence, My city is having it's Annual Greek Festival next week, and I always attend, it's never disappointing. Thank u for being such a golden representative of your culture, man. We're all the better for it. - Aaron
See Aaron, we could discuss for hours because arts are so unifying among people. Music is something we share. I really cannot tell how many songs from your country accompany my life moments. I hope we will have many opportunities to exchange our thoughts about music and culture
Wish you well, Anthony
Hey Anthony, How many Islands are there are your homeland? I've always wondered, it looks impossible to count. The slow pace and the bright and in your face plucked notes command attention right away. This made me think of present day Romani Caravans, but also ancient triemes gliding around all those islands, and the many lifetimes of men that land mustve seen come and go. I've said this countless times, but the very best music has visual cues that can be easily understood by all cultures and people. I try to do that with my work, and I sometimes succeed. But I doubt to this level. It transported me, bro. I didn't have to do a thing. Well done, you've earned a standing ovation from me, and a fav. - Aaron
Hello Aaron
It is a great trip from present times to antiquity and all that by my simple notes, I really feel good! In Ancient Greek naeomai is a verb and it means I return home. From naeomai comes the word nostos which you meet when you say nostalgic. It is the feeling of being homesick. That is somehow what I had I mind when I created this song. There are and there have been countless seamen from Greece. You may have met Onassis, but it is not always that good. Lots of families lost their men in the sea, and lots of families long to see their beloved fathers or brothers or sons that are away for really long times. And please do not misunderstand my referring to men. It is just because the majority of see people in my country are male. But that is not always a fact. Please google Laskarina Bouboulina and you will see we had great women of the sea too. That said, I would like to thank you for listening to my music and for taking the time to comment on it.
Best wishes, Anthony
Ive become a fan in about 2 mins. I hadnt put much thought into the legalization process in my area in awhile, but im thinking about it now. its something i never imagined Id see in my lifetime, yet here we are. the i find the sound itself is very good, I listened twice in a row. and THEN i saw u used a Helix, as in Line 6 Helix? my goodness, thats quite a prize, if so. Id love to put my little washburn on one. ah, well. A man can dream lol. Well done all around, man. - Aaron
hey thank you Aaron, thats sad that your state doesnt have it. because after some states in the US legalised and with all the money they made, europe relaxed. best wishes that something happens like that in you state as well. ohh god, i wish i owned that helix toy. im just lucky enough to grab some stuff after tour season. love from a banana
Clean mix for only 30 mins....I call cap. Lol just kidding man, when we're motivated, alot of good shit can happen in 30 mins. That bassline is super dope. And I take pride in my basslines, that's a mega compliment. I think this is my fav I've heard from you. Well freakin done, bro. - Aaron
I should mention that I'm planning an entire project of this ilk to start work on soon, and I've been looking to involve some others. I'm thinking Industrial/metal/trap as that core of it, with 808 basslines throughout. If that interests u, shoot me an email and we can talk more. - Aaron
First, I gotta say that your words hit close to home. I also suffer from severe anxiety and panic attacks, and even depression, at times. My girl and I were attacked and severely mauled by a pit bull last year, and that quadrupled the anxiety, especially when I hear a dog barking. I hope u find solace in music, as I do. I have a dark musical persona, but that contrasts strongly with who I am in everyday life. I try to be kind and understanding in every way I can, as my mother was. If u ever need a chat or anything at all to help u through a rough patch, I'm an email away. Meanwhile, the guitar has been calling to me again, it was the first instrument I fell in love with. Glad to see it calling to u, as well. 7 string, huh? Been listening to Korn or Slipknot? Lol. Well done, man. Ill have to give this another listen.
Lol I appreciate that bro, but nah I'm good despite what I say in some of my lyrics and music. I also have a dark musical persona lol, always have and probably always will. Sometimes I like making more upbeat stuff but the dark stuff just comes so easily you know what I mean I hear it in your music also. And hell yeah bust out the guitar lmao I had fun even though I just played some simple tones and easy melodies nothing to wild as I didn't want it to sound like a metallica song xD I added lyrics now and its even darker than it was haha. But yeah again I appreciate you bro and same goes for you! I'm trying to join that discord right now actually idk if you are a part of that or not.
Whoaaa, u absolutely must look up Mad season, dude. it's a super group, the singer is Layne Staley of Alice in Chains. The songs "River of Deceit" "Artificial Red" and "Long Gone Day" are magnificent. You'll thank me later. Ok, that is all. Lol.
Know them... Soundgarden ( Badmotorfinger) and later Pearl Jam (Backspacer) were my ultimate LPs from the grunge era. Liked a band a lot, when Lanegan was the singer too ... :-)
thanx dude,
Danke
Bro, IDK wat to even say except omfg. Sick shit. I do hear Tool a little bit, but do u remember the band Helmet? The riffs remind me of them a bit too. I agree with Dime, metal is underrepresented here. But ur representing in spades. Some of my fav stuff I've found here in recent memory has been yours. I really wish I could find the CDs I made with the band I was in years (centuries?) ago just to show it to u, man. I straight up love your work, u won't have to convince me to check out whatever u upload, thats for sure. Thanks for sharing Aaron. - The other Aaron
I do remember Helmet. At least, I remember there was a band called Helmet. I know I've heard them, but I can't for the life of me, without looking them up, remember what they sound like. I know they had a couple big songs.
I'm honored to know that you like my work enough to deem it as some of your favorites here. That in itself is encouraging. So, thank you for that!
If you do find that CD, you'll have to upload some. I'd love to hear it.
Thanks again, man. I appreciate it.
Aaron
Dude, this reminds me of some Mike McCready stuff, especially when he was with Mad Season. Then the vocals hit I'm like waaaaat! Crazy. Straight up fire man. - Aaron
Phonk is a tricky genre to handle, especially when theres EDM Phonk, and then Drift phonk, which is almost like trap. What they have in common is the vocal samples, which I freakin love. I use them myself, on occasion. This almost has an Electro-ish vibe, which is a bit different. But I found myself liking it a lot more than other tracks I've heard. I do wish it was longer, I don't think anyone would mind if u cut out the silence at the end and just doubled the track. It's good, man. Id like to hear some similar stuff from you. - Aaron
I like the synth underneath the piano in the beginning alot. (it also repeats) I also like the pacing, and the fact that the layering isn't overdone. Btw, Are u using mastering software? There is a very slight db discrepancy between I think 2 of the loops, but it's not all that noticeable. Well done, man. On a side note, I have many stem and loop packs I've designed and created over the years. MIDI packs, as well, and many of them are free. I can send you some to check out, if u want. Lmk. - Aaron
