That synth is dope! Right up my alley, man. This song has a different vibe than your usual work, for sure. Your vocals keep it in a sort of continuity with your other songs, so it fits well, just as Trip Trap or your forays into quasi-rock fit well. I think that gives you quite a bit of room for experimentation, and that's the best way to grow as an artist, and any artist knows that we never stop growing, no matter how good we are. You deserve praise not just for the song but for your courage in taking risks, and the wisdom to exlore just about every nook and cranny that music can offer. Honestly the words for the praise I give you both are inadequate. Well done, my friends

on Demons by TheFrenZ
The demon in my head smokes even more weed than I do, so I don't worry too much about him. Hes extremely lazy and only surfaces every once in a while, mostly when he's Hangry and demanding blueberry pancakes at 3 am like a jerk. Well, thats way too much back story for it to not be true lol. Anyway, nice work my friend. I enjoy the little descriptions you put with your tracks too lol

Blueberry pancakes at 3 am, I really have to try that sometime, but I think I'll put some whipped cream on them ;)
I'm glad you like it and thanks for the listen and comment.
Now up to the next upload :)

on Ethnic Trance Project 2 by Jwlickliter
As a snare roll connoisseur, I cant argue with more snare roll. That being said, im also the snare roll equivalent of the Cow Bell guy from that SNL skit about Blue Oyster Cult lol. Listen to me too much and youll just have one long snare roll lol. In all seriousness tho, its fine as is. I dont hear trance done very often, PaulCreaney1 does some.

on Track 12 - Essentia by Gixxie
Nicely named and nicely done. I have the words "scientia est potestas, musica est potestas, utraque est una vox" tattooed on my chest. The 808 bass sound originated in hip hop (and RnB), its just a prominent feature of trap. Id definitely only use certain 808 sounds for Classic hip hop, another set for 2000s, and yet another set for modern. You're not going to find many classic hip hop songs with the long note 808s that are all over trap, such as the cliche at this point spinz 808, or the heavily distorted high attack drill 808s (or even 909s in some drill). The short and bouncy bass hits of hip hop just hit different, literally and figuratively, especially as commonly paired with actual bass guitar. Im glad your striving to evolve, man. Btw did u get the song i sent you? The song from my old band?

on Dwell Within My Heart by RichardShekari
Its always heartening (see what I did there?) To hear a new song from you, Richard. You tell your stories with grace and ease, my friend. An astoundingly rare gift, my friend. I think this one might drag in certain spots at a increased BPM because of your percussions, but don't know until you try. I like it as it is, but it could be just as good or better slightly faster. Either way, nice work brother. I hope your growing family is well.

Thank you so much, I really appreciate your kind words. It means a lot coming from you.
I actually noticed James mentioned the same thing about the tempo, so hearing it from both of you tells me it's something I should seriously look into. I'll do a bit of research, experiment with increasing the BPM slightly, and see how it feels.
Thank you and James for that valuable feedback, and thank you for taking the time to listen so carefully and share your thoughts. It really means a lot to me.

And thank you for asking about my family. We're all doing well, and we're grateful for the new addition. I hope you and your family are doing great as well, brother.

This is the one, the song that I was talking about in my other comment. Ah, man. Life is fleeting, yet a year can feel like a decade. Or vice versa. Sadly, it seems that time passes the fastest during the best times and experiences in our lives. This track also had me thinking about that for some reason. It's an inspirational concept to me, though.

Man I'm 35 so I feel you. It seems like it was yesterday when I was going to school and now it's a mountain of worries and stuff haha
By the way I've lost the project of this track. I'd have fixed a thing in it that I found long after I'd uploaded. Probably gonna stay the way it is forever :)

Good track, man. I too feel this way sometimes, but another track i listened to of yours had an inspiration that i related to even more - the one about the girl. I felt that exact way about an exceptional woman once - unattainable. Years later, shes now my wife. I do wonder sometimes what could've been if id been able to change my way of thinking. But to be honest with you, that requires wisdom. And you can only buy wisdom with experience, years of it. Sometimes we are so worried about an endgame, achieving some internally determined destiny, that we forget life is the journey we take on our way to that destiny, our ending, not the ending itself. Anyway, lovely work.
Asociale
Asociale replied 28th Jul 2026 - 1 week ago
Haha nice thouht, I agree with you. That girl didn't become my wife and we aren't even in touch, but her beauty was enough to bring me inspiration.

Ok, so idk how familiar you are with Don Toliver, but his work from a couple years ago is a great example of Chill Trap. Even Travis Scott at times. 6LACK is another producer with some good CT work. Last but not least, one of my hometown heroes, Bryson Tiller - every album of his are a little different from each other, and his mixtapes tend to be contemporary trap-oriented, but his album Trapsoul is full of the same common elements as Chill Trap, and TrapSoul feels like an extension of it at times, only with alot more vocals/lacking instrumentals. If you havent heard any of it, or just a little, give tiller's trapsoul a listen. I dont think youll be disappointed, regardless.

Thank you for introducing me to those artists. I'll check them out when I have time for it. By the way, as you mentioned Celldweller I'd like to suggest checking out two other artists of his kind - Blue Stahli (very similar to Celldweller) and Voicians (early stuff - electronic rock, now he's creating liquid DnB).

I was looking at some of your favorite artists, I love Celldweller and Feint, nice picks there. I was wondering if you've heard any older industrial or jungle style DnB, from the late 90s or early 2000s? Especially DJ ODI. His work had a huge influence on me early in my musical journey. The trance and rave from that period also have a different edge and feel to them.
Yellowclaw feels like the most natural choice for you in that category, considering your other favorite artists. Not bad, by any stretch. If you ever become interested in the "other side" of trap, or classic hip hop, i have some suggestions for research
Asociale
Asociale replied 27th Jul 2026 - 1 week ago
Yeah, man! Celldweller is the gold standard of a modern musician for me. Im deeply inspired by his biography and the way he mixes heavy and electronic music. And his studio is basically a spaceshipcheck out its photos online if you haven't seen them. I started listening to electronic music seriously in 2012, so I don't know much about older DnB producers, but I googled and listened to the one you mentioned. I liked it. Its exactly that old-school DnB. My introduction began with Subsonik, Ben Sage, Andy C, John B, Teddy Killerz, and of course, Feint. Basically, all the main artists from Pirate Stationby the way, I was at one of the raves :) Yellow Claw is tied to powerful memories of when I left my hometown for a big city to look for a new and better life, so he stands out for me in trap. By the way, I also like Ofdream, but as far as I know, his genre is Chill-Trap, which Id actually love to learn how to produce since I adore atmospheric, emotional music. Id like to check out some trap, so hit me up via the email in my profile. Also, I sent the track stems, did you get them? I attached a link in the message, so maybe that's why it didn't pass moderation.
