Oh yes, you made my day with this track, just love the attitude and the approach!! Sometimes these things have to happen and I never ask why, I just listen and appreciate, well done!!
I was expecting an all digitally made track but your bass rings out and gives a nice live feel to this atmospheric gem. I am having a blast with Ableton myself mixing live with digital. It can breath life into us old guys who never had the opportunity to make music in such a way in days gone by and open up opportunities to create great electronic music is such a quick time.
You never seem to let the listener down, thanks Dave, nice track!
Hey mate..thanks for the listen,I had an impromptu jam the other day at a friend's house, the only difference being these days is I don't take along a slab of beer any more!lol...oh by the way,I found a package for you that I'd forgotten to mail..I've just mailed it today..I can't remember what's in it! hehe...cheers Dave :)
Sweet stuff here, the mix was right on the money. I agree with shortbus, all these dl's and no reviews or thanks, that stinks. I don't listen to much rap and hip hop but I know when someone does a nice job on a technical level, nice job man!
Some great guitar playin here, a classic rock feel to it. Liked the bongos too. Lyrics would be cool but the fills really filled up the space nicely. Mix is ok, think you could bring the guitar more to the front like Kikajon mentioned but overall I liked the track.
Hi Wayne, appreciate your input. You helped me out alot last time. I wanted to get a 'decent mix' on some of the trax already uploaded, this one especially was difficult because I reorded it in parts at different times, which makes it hard ot 'match' the sounds, and I used more separation on the mics than before, which you have mentioned. I'll give it one more try.
lookin forward more great music from you in '11, Jonathan
Congrats on a successful first attempt using an a capella to base a song around. I just did that recently myself, was fun. I liked the synth you used at the end, pretty cool, nice job!
That sound in the background that is shimmering sounds like something from a scifi movie. Cool beat but like Spiv is wondering, where is the bass?haha Nice job with this one Gorsky!
I liked the way you used the telephone effect on your vocals and I thought the beat was pretty cool!! Nice voice too, wished it was longer!! Great job, liked it!
Hey Mike, I saw you on earlier but I guess its not you yet. I certainly hope you get back here real soon cuz I want to hear more of these great tracks!! Production is top notch and the track in general is supurb!
TheHumps, thank you for the review. no, he's not back yet, but we are hoping and praying that it will be soon. he misses you all so much and of course, his music. Happy 2011 and make this one your best!
Thanks Wayne! This was a fun one to write because I don't really play the piano and only have 25 keys on my keyboard!! I've been wanting to try my hand at composing an orchestral piece, so I'm glad you enjoy it.
This is great, the drum track is nice and clear and the guitars are great as usual! Man, I would love to hear Pat Benetar or Joan Jet or some other female rocker lay a vocal track on this. This is just a cool rock track Allen, glad you put it up!
I'm gonna dl this and fav it cuz it's just that good!!!!
Hey Wayne,Thanks...Man I wish I had a female vocalist for this cause it would be the best thing that would fit...also a little early Cheap Trick vox would be cool also,or I should have asked Tacatta if he could do anything with the song but I'm afraid I may have lost the separated tracks, and I would need to edit the lead for vocals...or have to re-record it!
Yea,I hung on to it cause I always wanted to add to it but the end of year challenge was too tempting so I let it go...for now :)
I liked how it opened up, it set a nice tone right from the beginning. Calming but it has an edge to it making it a bit, ummmm, edgy, haha. That's me, man of a hundred words, haha!!
Nice track overall, the mix was sweet and it was a bit ambient, chillout in a way but what's in a genre. Great job for the year end challenge!!
This is pretty cool, gotta love mhyst's vocals, just wonderful. This instrument choices were perfect and the mix was tight. Nice job with this. Happy New Year!
Appreciate the listen and support Wayne. Time for us to reflect now that NYE is here, and plan for bigger and better things. Here's to good times ahead! Cheers - Jerome
Jeesh Trax, you are getting some great sounding mixes, this is sweet sounding. Like most songs that don't have guitars in them I'm a bit unfamiliar with the original but I still have to admit that you are blowin me away with these remixes. Nice job with the effects on the vocals and I like the synths sawing away at my eardrums!!
I never heard the original but I must admit your version is quite good...ok great!!! Got my head noddin, foot tapping so it's gotta be good! I've never tried to do a remix but I sure am impressed with how you get your results, so cool Trax, keep em coming!
I always thought these guys wrote catchy tracks, great to sing along to but this was way cooler Trax!! Cleaverly put together and a nice mix too. Man you can kill a remix!!
Well look at you doing rnb!! Now you thought my techno track was different for me, right back at ya, haha!! This is quite sweet! The bass sounds nice and smooth and it is a very well executed composition. Sometimes a backing track like the strings can just be the icing on the cake. Impressive Daniel, you never let me down!!
Thanks yet again Wayne for another quick-fire review. I'm thinking this track needs a slight change somewhere so maybe a good vocal may give it that ingredient....
Honestly, ever since I read this review I can't get Dave's voice out of my head. It just fits somehow. I'm working on lyrics for the song and possibly singing to it too. We'll see how it turns out. Thank you for the positive feedback!! :)
The acoustic guitar was great in this. Now that you sent me all those video links I can see where you are coming from with your music. This is just a little different than your other tracks, kinda rockin on this one Vicen, I like it a lot!
Indeed, my music comes from all the music I've heard, both international and national level. Years ago in my country poprock is sung in Spanish and has some nuances pecuñiares. I drink from these sources of music, of all. I can not keep one style, so I think my songs are different from each other. For me it is a joint effort, but I know some are more rock, sometimes a touch of jazz, country, Latin, etc.. I believe that this pop music began.
Cool track, great synths, pretty intense track you have here. The bass synth was hard hitting and the bells and circus sounds added a lot to the track. Nicely done!
Nice, has a Fisherman's Blues feel to it by the Waterboys. The slide sound great, so many things I like about this! Would love to hear some vocals on it. The change to the Am is great, love it, classic blues progression!!
The mixing and mastering is nice on this. You are using the whole stereo field, the mix is wide, so nice and it seperates the instruments nicely.
Here is a tip. In Audition, use the chorus(in the modulation tab) to spread each track out even more. Push all the sliders on top to the left except spread. If you do that and adjust the controls at the bottom part of the plugin you can widen or narrow the guitars(vocals, bass...) and if they are panned left and right you will make them fill the space even more. Experiment with this, it's a great way to make things sound big and full, especialy if you only use a couple instruments.
