Sounds like you moved the vocals from my earlier listen. Sounds good, are you happy with it? I still dig the vocal track. Glad you finished it up, now it's on to the next one bud.

Hi Benham! I think your mandolin playing was great. The strumming parts are nice. The picking was also excellent, especially the transition part with the effects around 1:40. I am surprised more people don't play one here on the loop,

I found it to be an easy instrument to play. I am not very good at playing it. What's that saying, "fake it till you make it"? hehe. I just found my book of mandolin chords. I only play the mando when I record, I hardly ever practice it.

Your mandolin sound cleanly played and in just the right places, it is such a beautiful sounding instrument. Keep playing my friend!

Wayne many many thnx for attention, the kind words & all the encouragements. ....uuummm yes as U've mentioned there're not many mandolin players.particullary I think mandolin has a very nice sound & special character as a strumming instrument, buT I think the reason why we often don't find many mandolin players are its weak points about expressing suspended atmosphers, subjective impressions , & the lack of a strenght Bass sound which makes it to be usefull for some special & usually romantic concepts, it also needs a mentality with minor & melodic tendency for playing.
ofcourse these are my personal point of view & criticisms about mandolin & I don't know much about it .
for sure your probable reply can include some instructive points about mandolin ...& of course noone can't ignore its unique & beautY sound in its suitable place ...
anyway personally I enjoyed my first & last mandolin playing & your warm feedback made that exprience of mine including more pleasure...appreciations Wayne for patiency & presence & valuable shared idea.best wishes man.___B

I read that you used loops from loop packs to do this. I was surprised when I bought Audition it came with 5,000 loops with beds of loops. I did a few songs a few years ago with them and they are posted here, as a matter of fact one of them is one of my most downloaded. I have no problem with using loop packs. Sometimes the songs come together fast i noticed and you can create some cool and interesting songs that way.

I don't listen to this type of music unless here on the loop. It's not a busy song but enough going on to keep me interested. I also thought the blip noise could have used some more effects like reverb as radioilluminati suggested.

Cool track, good vibe before I head off for some treatment on my back.

Yeah i've been using loads of loop packs just lateley. Because purchased loops are done on propper synthesisers you can get loads of sounds that just aren't possible to make on your DAW (or your window for that matter)
Before, i used to write everything but i guess i'm getting a bit lazy in my old age.
Cheers for dropping in and hope you get your back sorted out dude.

The music and performance is very good, simple and to the point and it creates a nice atmosphere. Vocals are well done. Nice tune. I suggest to look into your daw and see what you can do to get a little more volume on your mixes as it was a little difficult to hear.

Love the effect of the synth getting gradually louder after the 1:18 mark. The vocals are interesting as I find you have been excelling at that lately. The drums, as simple as they are are very cool and have a catchy beat. Things break out a little later in the track, there are some cool changes here. Well done Spiv, totally diggin this!

Thanks very much for stopping in to listen! Thank you for your support regarding my vocals, had to force myself to retrive my voice for this one...smoking and all ya know. This song relies heavilly on spontaneous automation to accent the changes, so I'm glad you think it worked okay. It was nice for a change not to focus on supercomplex drums, sometimes I put too much effort on that. Tried to save some things for later in the track, so it would build up nicely. I really appreciate the comment my friend!

Hey Benham, so good to see you post another track even if it is an older one. I need my fix now and then.

Always love hearing the mandolin in any kind of music. Nice effect/transition around 1:45. The song has a bit of a somber, tranquil, lucent feel but at the same time there is an uplifting feel to the track.

Thanks for sharing this with us, it is always a gift you present to us!

I liked the light, upbeat feel of the track. Maybe some of the synths you used made it feel that way. The main synth was very cool. The parts that slow down in tempo quickly is a neat effect, makes me think.... I will be interested in hearing what kind of vocals you put on this though it's still great as an instrumental. Good luck!

This is a catchy pop song, well done. The lyrics and vocals are excellent. The music goes perfectly with singing. I agree with others who have commented about the kick. Watch your overall compression on the final mix, I think things could find their place and stand out more with some work with that.

Overall you have a song with much potential, congrats!

Sounds like this one was giving you fits, lol. I am listening to a newer and revised version I would guess. It sounds fine to me. To me the vocals seem to come in on the "and" between 1 and 2 as you are counting it off. I can see why it would be tricky lining up the vocals. Adding vocals adds a new dimension to the mix, literally. I have tried using some a capellas that were just a little off timed and it was tough, I had to chop them up to get them to fit properly.

The music is fine, upbeat, dig the piano here. Bouncy cool bass. On listen 3 now. I like the delay on the vocals. Cool pop track, a bit towards the dance end of the spectrum. I like it, dig the woman's vocals, they add a nice touch.

Well done, hope you are satisfied with it! Sound good for a new genre you are trying out.

Mate thank you so much for the review and feedback on this piece of #####, seriously must be the hardest track I have had to do, such a simple track in the ways of loops, maybe that is the problem, less loops you can not hide things??? Have updated it again since your review, lining vocals up even more....Not looking forward to hearing this one again in a hurry myself, very much over it...PS thank for the fav mate...Peace n Respect Wayne...Mosaic...

Interesting toy piano intro, like SN, I wasn't sure what to expect and at the end it really sounds cool. As I listen the song has some great changes and dynamics from the heavy guitars to the synth. Is there a little tremelo on the vox in certain spots? That was cool. The singer gave a pretty darn good performance and effort. Well done to both of you.

on 15 Minutes Isnt All We Can Have by MOONLYTE
Well done on the vocals, I don't know how people can do that throat growl singing but it an interesting change from the verse singing and was a little unexpected. On the mix end of things, I think with a little less compression you would hear more separation between the guitars, piano, vocals... especially when they are all playing loud. It's a great song idea and some nice changes, it's well written. Good luck with the new daw!

Hi Wayne :)
thank you much much for the words .
i don't know much about differences of metal and rock
i thought this is rock because metal is faster and wilder toward this for me .
but as i see some people like you have called this Metal.
so i'm going to change the genre and put it in metal ....
thank you much much again.

The break at about 1:20 was fantastic and very unexpected considering the beginning was so upbeat. But it really works to get the feeling from the description.

I love that as musicians, we can represent our sentiments, thoughts and feelings through the music we write. You used a lot of loops very creatively to convey your intentions here. What can I say that others haven't said, great track Steve!

Love that change at around 1:30, nice. I used a squire for a couple years, as long as you add some compression and some effects they sound decent enough.

Is that a reverse reverbed hi hat hit on the intro, very cool? I like the chorus change, the guitar does it's job pretty good there. Cool track, great bass playing as usual!

Ah, yes. Fender Squiers. Bought a lefty for my lefty wife and the thing sits in my music room and stares at me. Sad, really.

My problem with the Squier(besides being a right handed individual), is how light a touch is required. Being a bass player, I'm used to squeezing the ##### out of the strings. Do it with the Squier and it all gets a bit "wonkey". I tuned several times and deleted several goes on guitar because of squeezing it sharp.

Hey, there's a band name.

Squeezin It Sharp

Take care

on 1981 featuring MStokes by deciBel
MichaelStokes has been reviewing my songs since day one and probably most people's tracks since the day he joined. He literally has thousands of reviews and most are uniquely thought out comments. I have downloaded more of his songs than anyone's tracks on the loop, to give you some indication of how much I like his music. Much respect for this track and to you as well Benham.

The track is hauntingly beautiful and painful at times. I listened to this a few times, it's emotional. I like the guitars, there is a certain tone to them I cannot recognize.

Everyone takes time off from the loop for one reason or another. One guy just came back here after spending a few years in jail. It's good that people are missed and recognized for their input and for the genuine character they are. Hope you both are able to rejoin us here at looperman at your full capacities soon!

Well done both of you!

Great job doing a rock track my friend! I like the guitar sound and the vocals, they work pretty good together. There are times it gets a little trippy like when the guitar lead rolls and the song quiets down and the girl sings. Reminds me a bit of the Doors Robbie Krieger guitar in the song The End at times.

I like the open feel of the song, lots of space. There is a cool bluesy feel going on here with nice changes throughout. Working with vocals opens up some new challenges as far as mixing. I know you have used vocal samples before but mixing in a whole track is different. Listened on my headphones and the vocals sounded good in the mix.

Dig the track dude! Keep challenging yourself, you will never know what you can do unless you try. Look forward to hearing some new songs!

Thank you for the feedback and the review, must say did enjoy doing this one, while taking a short break from trance, currently working on a acoustic type of rock track, it is more laid back then this one, more like a chill out track, plus also start a few different styles...Thought working with vocals would be a bit hard but found them fairly straight forward, suppose if you have the right vocals makes it easier...Thank for the fav too mate...Peace n Respect...Mosaic....Listening to your piece I reviewed other day...Still stand by what I said about it being my fav of yours...Excellent track....

Always loved this song and this band. I like your version, a bit more to the jazz/lounge side of things but I love lounge music. I thought about singing and found the lyrics and tried to sing along but there are too many high spots I can't hit. They had great singing and harmonies on their songs. I hope you find someone, I'm sure someone will jump on this.

Thanks allot, Wayne. Nothing beats the original, so didn't want to try to duplicate it, so with the help of Franco, it turned out a bit jazzier.

Sorry it's a bit high for you. Would have liked to have you aboard. Usually vocal requests are unsuccessful, so doubt we'll get any takers.

Have you ever been a dj or done any dj'ing? Just wondering because of the mixing different beats you do. The transitions are well done and each part sounds a bit different from one another but there seems to be an underlying feel to it all. Were you able to get those synths running on your comp?

I find if you delete a handful at a time it's easier rather than 1 at a time. Either that or upload 500 loops this week and get some bonus tracks. hehe

Well done!

Wayne

Never been a DJ. Used to hang around with a lot of them in my 20's but i was always much more interested in creating the tracks.
I guess i should take it up really as all i seem to do these days is muck about with loops.
I did get those synths running in the end and they're really bloody good (But i only used one right at the end of this track, the rest was all loops and one shots)
Yeah, i should upload some loops really. I did plenty as Nick Q but FreeRadical has so far contributed a grand total of zero.
I might even make some right now.
Cheers for dropping in.
