Great intro, the build up was perfect for this track. Lots of good energy here, just in time for my morning coffee, it's getting me moving. So good to see you again, keep posting these gems.
Hey matey, thank you for the listen n feedback much appreciated, I have more trance also Pop House n maybe a few other genres currently on the go, they will poss find their way up here over next few weeks, glad got your morning off to a great start, haven't got around to email yet Wayne, will try n get to it next few days sorry, much respect to you my friend mos.
So funny you mentioning finishing up a song, my new one took me 2 months, life was happening as well but I couldn't wait to get it done and move on, lol.
Great vibe from the start. Neat drumbeat, cool sounding guitars and synths and when the vox started, all the effects, I was sold! Great mix too!
Yeah I need to learn that sometimes it's best just to put stuff aside and work on something else for a while. Come back with fresh ears. I'm starting to do that. Vox FX was guitar rig. It has a great effects bank even if you don't really want to use an amp Sim.
If i were to go out on a limb I would say this is your style of electronic American native styled music. I'm not sure if you've heard Native American music before but it, in some way, made me think of that.
Thanks Wayne. I've never heard Native American music... But the track is really inspired by reading books about Indians. And I think this is a good reason to get acquainted with their music...
I'm so glad you add vocals to your tracks, so many people here that make "electronic" music never attempt to try to do this. To me it adds another dimension to a track, a huge one. They def add to the track. Solid track, has some cool guitar in it, lead was neat!
Personally, I don't get the hip hop attitude of out doing the other artists and claiming this and that about yourself or anybody else and all the rebuttal and hoopla that goes along with all that. It just takes your focus away from the one thing that matters, the music, the art of songwriting. In the world of rock it's just about the song, the musicianship, the rock attitude. I don't know of too many songs in rock that take that h/h attitude towards songwriting, thank god. Besides, most rockers want to perform and play alongside their compatriots, not worry about getting shot by them, lol!
As far as the song itself goes, the production keeps getting better and better, way to go on that! Keep up the hard work and congrats, grandpa!
hi Wayne, thanks for your regular visit mate. i value you and you feedback as your well aware, i love your work because its genuine your a fine musician too.
Hip-Hop attitude is like no other with its macho slagging off approach, lots of people don't like it for that reason its violent. i have a wide variety of musical taste, my favourite bands growing up were the who, the jam, i hated rock music, we done nothing but fight mods and rockers as you will know. but i loved hip-hop when it started off i was a great dancer and loved to show off spinning on my back windmills etc, i challenged everyone and anyone even if i was up against 10 men, id serve them all. i used to get jumped and a good kicking but that was part of it. competition is what makes you better and stronger. i know a few professional artists and sports men, all this rhetoric about its the taking part that's important is bullshit, that producers losers its about winning you get nothing for second place in life. im just going to continue being me and having a laugh
Very professional sounding track. There is a nice cohesion of all the elements of the song, sounds full, great mix! The acapellas work great with the music.
I certainly don't know much about witch house but I'll take your word that this is representative of the genre. Has a scary, dark, cinematic feel.
Menacing vocals help to give it a more personal feel as opposed to just an instrumental which to me you are looking in from the outside. Vox help to bring you in as part of the song more, you feel the person's pain, happiness, anguish.... more.
The intro was interesting but the bass line is what caught my ear. Some cool changes and there is no shortage of energy here. Fun, creative and got me going as I have my first coffee of the day.
Wow, blown away with the synths/keys and whatever else you used to create this. At times I was comparing it to Jaco Pastorius - Crisis, damn.
Great to see what people can do in their homes making tracks. Some of the crap that's so popular these days don't even compare to this in any way, shape or octave. It's not even funny man. Taylor Swift, gag me with a spoon. lol
Great dark, mysterious and spooky at times track. The vocal track is good, sometimes songs need vocals or spoken words to help it move along, keep it interesting and it helps the listener get into the track more I find. Solid constant theme expressed musically, well done!
Paul Simon!! Yes that's absolutely it and that's also an amazing compliment because that's probably one of the most amazing poets of the previous century.
Setup: well, I moved from a cramped apartment with no real space (via some (mis)adventures) to a place where I can have a study - which is also my man cave and has the space to really set up all my instruments in a more or less permanent setting, so I can start drumming, playing guitar or keys, or singing at just about any time (barring company time of course) ;)
It's amazing and liberating and just about perfect!
Lovely track despite some of the sadder lyrics! The vocals are cool, I like the tone and timbre of his voice. The git lead was cool, nice tone! Totally enjoyed this!
Thanks Wayne! To clarify, the vocals are mine, as is the rest - it's just not based on something that happened to me.
The guitar tone is nice, yes - this is a temp setup but I actually like how it turned out.
Very cinematic piece to me. Industrial is a good description. I think of the movie Blade Runner as I listen. The vocals work well with the music, good effects on them!
Certainly an interesting track. What genre? I think fusion maybe, so many different sounds and influences going on, all genres wrapped up in one. An earful for sure, crazy little trip you took me on!
Cool intro first of all. There are so many great sounds that all layer nicely, you must use a lot of tracks while constructing these ideas of yours. Quality mix. Takes me back to the 70's. Another fine track Micky!
Hello Wayne, nice to hear from you. Yes, 44 tracks and by the time I had knitted them all together I really couldn't listen to the track anymore. I have no idea how I finally got it finished enough that it was worth uploading to me. I've also thought it might be a lot easier to make stripped down, thrifty tracks, but I've found that it's not one iota easier...quite the opposite. Your benevolent, encouraging comment means all the more to me. Thanks very much.
Good one man, this is fun and a bit scary at the same time, sounds as if cats might rule the world after their "upgrade", he! Reminds me a bit of the last one you posted. Creative!
Just bought 10 small and one large catnip mice for the neighborhood cat who I've been caring for recently, he absolutely loves them. I also introduced him to the string, he loves playing with a string. He's sleeping on my bed right now, ohhhh, he's so sweet, kind and lovable! lol
There is plenty to listen to, some neat things going on, synths and pads are cool for sure. Has a NIN feel to it, Head Like a Hole goodness! Driving song? Could be dangerous listening to this and driving, he, some songs do make you hit the pedal a little harder.
Hey Paul, 2 thumbs up!! So many layered vocals, how many tracks are you up to now in your daw per song? Bet it's been increasing lately. Cool ending as well!!
thanks so much Wayne, ive been doing far more on the production side.
had 3 vocal cuts on this in three different keys and i side chained my fx's in and routed everything through bus channels. you know the proper way, i now feel i understand what im doing and trying to achieve. less of me just winging it,
when i first started it was a couple of tracks, music on one, vocal on one, and fx on side slots, there was 22 layers on this :))
thanks again for your support as always mate
You know, those were great days here with all those folks you mentioned and many more. Everyone gave helpful and constructive criticisms, well mostly. Plus the place was a zoo with hilarious forum posts. About 100 songs a day were uploaded which gave me so much music to listen to and comment on. It was a much different place "back in the day".
I'm sure you'll be posting more interesting stuff to get into.

The quicker and simpler the song comes together, the better the song, that's what I find happens.
What did you do with the new setup?
