I have to agree with what everyone has stated, yeah, pretty beautiful and sweetness for the ears. Such a clear, clean mix. What can I say, brilliant man!
Time well spent giving this one a listen and I do appreciate a copy, thanks for sharing!
Cool recording! Never heard of the go getters, have to check them out. Needs some bass to even out the mix a little. Vocals sound good, clean and the guitars sound good too. Look forward to hearing TV's mix if he follows through. It's rock and roll and who doesn't want to rock out? Well done!
Decent track! I liked the way it built up. Mix is very good, the vocals sit nicely in the mix. The guitars are meaty and fit the feel and mood of the song.
One comment up to now? Like danke, I am surprised.
Such a clean crisp mix, fantastic, beautiful and peaceful! Guitars have a nice reverb on them, makes them sound big and spacious. Violins are layered beautifully too! Delay on piano works nicely as well.
I must ask Leon, how bout sending me some of your talent? ha! Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Hey Wayne my friend...always a pleasure ! So glad you enjoyed this one and your generous feedback is much appreciated as always ! Well, my so called 'talent' is still in developement phase and if in the future by any
coincidence happens there will be some surplus of it, I'll
send it over...I promise...haha...
This is fantastic! A melting pot of musical genres, well executed piece. I can hear all the instruments clearly. The guitar work is great, love that funky wah wah pedal! Great guitar to start the song off with. Sax is a great touch, nice reverb on it. I like the small vocal snippets that are in there too.
Thanks, Wayne, you lifted my spirits, too. I am essentially housebound these days anyway, so I can only see low-hangers through the window. I'm so glad you liked it, I worked hard to even out the volumes. I was trickier than handle and some loops glare a bit. I was encouraged by the response so I whipped up anther one. Maybe you'd like do the vox on it?
vic
You could push your volume levels a little more to get a louder mix. Play around with some different type of compression in your daw. That will make your tracks even punchier and louder.
For a second attempt it was sure darn pretty good effort!
In my head I can hear a vocal track from Sade in the mix. :)
It's a cool track to have in the background as you go about some chores. I think another part like a bridge or a change of some sort might bring some dynamics to give the song a little more interest. Not to be too negative but it is a bit repetitious in some regard. Doesn't mean made the track uncool, ha! No! I liked it, cool idea and a nice mix!
I was really take aback when the guitar started, very cool intro! The guitar work really captured me, the bass was well done too. I hear many different styles of music in this track which intrigues me when I listen and want to hear something not typical and cool. The vocals were totally unexpected but fit with the rest of the track which was much of the same, it all comes together though.
i apologize for the mate answer! thanks a lot Wayne for this feedback, it's always important to know the listeners feeling!
each time i try to work on unsual tracks, i don't want to close my mind on a particular genre or style! it's my own choice and be sure in my desk, there's a lot of unfinished tracks ( i wrote "RIP" on their faces lol)
Clean sounding recording, I can hear all the instruments, so nice mix. This music doesn't come around here too much, it is welcomed!! Well put together and a nice track to get me in a good good mood!
As for reference, not too much compression on each instruments, but put African percussion, djembe with waves low air plugin. Main theme performed by solo flute comes with eventide black hole reverb plug in. Acoustic piano is Native Instruments' The Giant. I mixed with izotope ozone and neutron for tweaking frequency collision. I hope my story is useful for you. See you again!
Cool track man! Sax and piano working nicely together. Drums sound well placed in the mix. Easy on the ears and creatively done. Cool soundscape, made me sit back and take a deep breath. I liked the ending as well.
Great use of Patricia's vocals, very strong track. The rock groove you have behind her vox are very cool and a little unexpected with her style. It works though and it rocks! Sounds like something I would hear on the radio, professional sounding arrangement and idea.
I've been listening to some rnb lately, the OJays , the Ohio Players, Bill Withers, James Brown, anything with Bootsy Collins in it. This is satisfying my recent appetite, has a real flair for the music of the early/mid 70's. The vocals work great with the music, good effects on them too. Cool!
Thank you for the comment. You've put my track in the class of James Brown, Bill Withers and others, is more then my little head can take. Wow. Thank you.
I must agree with the others who have commented so far, it's pretty darn good for a rough draft. The mix is powerful and I think your vocals sound fine. Although I'm not much a fan of autotune, within the context of the music it works well.
Great collab! Great dynamics thru the song. The vocals are great and the music is interesting and well put together.
My suggestion would be to let the music breath a little more by not going so heavy with limiting/compression. To me the vocals sound more evenly balanced to my aging ears and the music is a little more "aggressively" mixed. I think that by relaxing the compression on some of the instruments it will set them apart and fit better with the vocals. But what do I know? ha!
You forgot to dust the record off, ha! It's cool that you made the noise in tempo for the most part. Nice song overall. It is wide open for some vocals, have you tried the a capella section? Even without vox it holds it own. Nice melodies, calming music!
The piano track was awesome, light and free flowing like the leaves blowing through a chilly autumn breeze. The song picks up dynamically and it is well done, the drums sound great overall, well mixed. My first song of the day, refreshing and uplifting, thanks!
Thanks so much for listing and taking the time to add some
nice compliments. I am very glad you heard what I did with the leaves blowing in the wind. Peace..
Reminds me of the song Dopi by International Times, the chanting is real good in that track, hope you can check it out sometime. You bring a different vibe from that track but this still carries the same sort of effect the vocals had on me. Creative stuff!
Hey Vic, how are you these days? Hope you and yours are well!
Nicely done, cool beat first of all. I think Mhyst's vocal samples are pretty good to work with. Your mixing skills are shining through with this one, pretty solid mix!
Thanks, Wayne. I am always really proud to get a review from you. The acapella was indeed a gem to work with.By the time I was finished the backing track didn't even resemble what I started with! And no vig-induced flashes of weirdness, either, lol. Little old me hanging with a young lady the likes of Mhyst. My 2 boys are old enough to be her father I'd bet. Thanks a lot for the review and the well wishes. I hope you have a good summer, too. vic
Great song to cover, first of all. I think your version is very cool! It's more stripped down and more electronic sounding than the original but it's well put together and tight as far as the instrument parts and the mix.
Quite a bit here to like! The drums/percussion worked well with the vocal shouts, added intensity and power to the track. The parts where it broke down are cool and make the other parts even more impactful.
Cool intro, got my headphones on. The keys/vibes/organ instrument is neat then the snappy crisp drums and bass kinda steal the show! Nice mix, spacious. I close my eyes and I feel I'm at the club, listening to the band.
Can't say I know who Bugge is. You know some cool artists I am unfamiliar with, thanks for turning me on to them!
