This works for me! Pretty upbeat for chillout, it's not heavy or too loud but the genre means little. Chillout-ish, ha, that sums it up. Good intro, solid changes and instrumentation, dig the length and was easy on the ears. The change in the middle was very nice, broke the song up and added some dynamics to the song. Two thumbs up!

Man, I just listened to a chilled out rnb song that was a great start to my morning. I just took my first sips of coffee and hit the play button to this song. Dang dude, my heart rate went up, I feel like mowing the grass and doing a cartwheel all of a sudden, lol!

I don''t know crap about dnb other than drum and bass are featured but as I listen to this a 2nd and 3rd time I am starting to let it all absorb into my senses I realize I was completely right about my knowledge of dnb. I am sure this will appeal to those who like dnb and those who like something completely different, I fall into that category.

Sure was a trip, great creativity and making music that appeals to you because pleasing yourself when it comes to making music is most important.

Sweet track! I do love music like this. Instruments are well played and the composition and arrangement is great. I struggle as well with my disabilities which are numerous so I do appreciate the sentiment of the song. Grin and bare it, life isn't easy to begin with but music like this certainly puts a smile on my face, thanks!

You have a pretty low register to your vocals, can't complain about how they are mixed. You created a dark, edgy track with lots of tension with both the vocals and the instruments. A bit cinematic as well, I could hear this in a thriller. Good way to finish off the year!

Such a nice pop song. Martin's loops are fantastic, can't go wrong there. What is not to like about this? The vocal recording is clear and well sung, nice performance! Great songs don't need to be complicated, sometimes the simpler the better.

It's pretty sad how our wildlife is treated, their homes invaded by urban sprawl, poaching to the point of extinction and a total disregard for their well being and surroundings. Wolves are beautiful animals. A friend had a wolf/husky mix and it was pretty cool looking.

Interesting interpretation of your description. The bass has a feeling of prowling or hunting. The ticking/percussion was an unexpected sound but I'm sure your reason for putting it in there is justified. Nice piece of music overall!

My favorite is Howlin' Wolf.(blues great!!)

Well crafted piece of music, your description helped to set the scene as a listener. It has highs and lows as far as emotion goes. The vocal pad or samples that you used added just the right touch, not too much just the right amount. Nice job putting this together!

Cool industrial feel to this one. The driving beat with the varied sounds and effects made me listen intently all the way through. Other than the ending being a bit abrupt, I liked the overall feel and concept to the track. I could see a bunch of robot and automated machines cut quickly as a visual in a video for this. Just long enough to get you absorbed while listening then makes you give it another play to check it out again.

Great idea, great song, nice job with the singing and the production is great! Writing about life is great songwriting, being frank and not so rosy gives it "cred".

I'm older now and when I look back, it's all the tough times and not so great moments that I have persevered that have made me who I am. Of course you have to suffer through a tough life first to get to appreciate it, lol. But it makes good song material.

This is very cool Alex! Great live performance, totally dig the sound of that organ. I enjoy that once in a while someone uploads a live performance here and I can appreciate your ability to make this happen. Made me feel like I was in a holy place, taken away to another musical plane. Not only has many people here enjoyed this rendition but obviously the crowd enjoyed it too! Tuned into the vid as well, the instrument is pretty impressive, well done!

Honestly, I can hear the Roxie Music influence in this track which is good. I think you should continue working on your vocals, they aren't as bad as you said in your description. Be original in your approach and style and it will work out in the long run. The song is catchy, the effects on the vocal help with the overall feel of the track and the mix is real good for this song.

Thank-you, Wayne. You are one of the true "authorities" here on Looperman and I respect and appreciate your input and advice. I did manage to reasonably successfully disguise my wretched vocals with multiple plugins and tracking the melody line with a synth part. Autotune simply doesn't work really well on my vocals. I have a really hard time keeping a note on pitch and you can really see itinerary the pitch display in Autotune. That's a function of age I think, although I was never allowed to sing even backup in the bands I was in back in the day. :)

That being said, I think your advice to be original in approach and style is very sound. I've been thinking the same thing recently, as I come to realization that I'm not really good at creating trance, or any other genre of EDM. I particularly like trance, but getting it "right" continues to elude me. So, am thinking that perhaps I should accept reality and find an original path. Not necessarily 80's recreations, either. But, perhaps influenced by them.

Anyway, enough of my philosophizing. Have a new R&B track underway and it needs a lot more attention. Definitely won't be adding a vocal to it.

What a nicely balanced song, mix, instruments, all the right production and not crushed to death with too much compression. That last point alone gives the song that sense of space and depth and feel to the track. It has a relaxed, lounging at the beach with a cold drink with a small umbrella in it sort of feel to me. ooops, I mean a sparklin' glass of champagne!

Always something good for the ears!

Nice easy, peaceful feeling to this track. Some really nice changes too. Got to hand it to you again, a fairly involved song made using all these loops.
It must take some time to find all these loops to fit, the descriptions and if there is a key signature must help a lot.

I feel calmer now after listening, nice job!

I have no idea what makes garage, garage. Doesn't really matter. This is good no matter how you slice it. Clean mix, upbeat, great listen. Horns are sweet, vocals sit nicely in the mix. Piano is simple but contributes it's share of impact on the song. The guitar, wha/phase stabs work too, nicely played and mixed.

Worthy of a dl! Thanks for sharing!

Dark overall tone, lyrics, the organ you chose, tempo.... Lots to listen to, cool effects, subtle sometimes. Dig the delays on the male vox. Listened a few times, it gave me the opportunity to pay attention to different sounds each time. The vocal samples are good, minette has a wonderful voice! Sparse in its arrangement but you did well with the production, in my opinion. Interesting sounds used sparingly set the atmosphere but it's fighting my coffee rush. ;)

Jim read the comments on my track from the other day and he knew who Chris Spedding was. Oh well....live and learn. btw, Jim joined the site recently so hopefully he uploads some music soon.

Just a suggestion, start the drums a bit simpler then build the drums up as the singing gets going to the 16th note hi hats. The intro git was cool. I was thinking to build some more dynamics when you start the drums, maybe build up to the 16th note hi hats with just some kick or a simpler hi hat pattern. The drums work well with how you did the vocals and I'm not disagreeing with the kit you are using(loops, program...) but more suggesting to introduce that continuous hi hat in time.

The part in the middle reminded me of REM actually. I like the idea overall. Listened several times, really do like the middle part, sometimes less is more. Good luck, worth working on and getting it to where you are happy with it!
